Konstantyná simply nods. "Any idea what you wanted to try cooking?"

Drago thought for a moment, "What sort of hot sandwich dishes do you know?"

"I think I can concoct a sliced beef sandwich without much of an issue," Konstantyná answers.

"Sounds perfect. Shall we begin the lesson?"

Konstantyná chuckles while shaking her head. "Cooking is much like art. You will find your own style as you practice. All I can teach you is the basics. Where is your meat?"

Ylrhea sighs. "No need to drag out this goodbye. I'm sure Mirrin and Magestreia are waiting for you, love."

"It's over here," Drago responded as he moved to the cold box and pulled out the meat. "Bread is over there," He pointed.

"I'll see you soon." the magus says, standing up and heading toward the door. "And probably speak to you sooner."

With a final deep breath, she steps out into the chill air with Celia, and begins heading back to the other Anizari.

Mirrin sits on a bench outside of the Common House while she waits for Sadhana and Celia. Once she spots the magus and her companion, she stands and approaches them. "Are we ready to go?"

Magestreia exits the Common House and joins the three Anizari. "Sorry, I had to use the restroom. That's one thing I miss about being a dragon."

Mirrin raises an eyebrow and crinkles her nose. "To each their own, I suppose."

Konstantyná takes the meat and tenderizes it with her bare hands. Once it's flattened, she cuts the meat into thin strips and puts it into a skillet. She sets the skillet on the stove and waits for the meat to start sizzling before turning it. "Why don't you cut some of that bread in half?"

Drago took mental notes as he watched Konstantyná tenderize the meat.

With a nod, he went to slice the bread as asked.

After the meat is cooked, Konstantyná takes the skillet off the stove and puts a decent amount of meat on each half piece of bread. "You can add things like lettuce and tomato to the sandwich if you want."

Konstantyná stares off into space for a moment before shaking her head. "Pretty simple, no?"

Drago tilted his head, "Are you okay?"

Konstantyná nods. "I'm fine. I just thought I heard something..."

"Like what," Drago asked while trying to keep the paranoia out of his voice and making his way to the kitchen doorway.

"A voice calling my name," Konstantyná answers. "But, perhaps, it's just my mind playing tricks on me."

Uhoh....her mom is a hag isn't she? Wasn't there something in there somewhere about how she could answer some call? This could turn out bad if we don't do something about it. I thought she mentioned it at some point, but I don't remember when or to whom.

Looking at Cyna and Sienna as they wait for the others Tesia says, "I'm sorry you guys didn't get more of a honeymoon."

"I can't speak for Cyna, but I know we've got to handle this craziness before too much longer," Sienna says.

A cursory search of your posts indicates no. But my google fu isn't the strongest.

Drago stopped in his tracks and gave her a curious look, "What kind of voice?" The Dhampir was all too familiar with uninvited guests rattling around in ones mind.

She nods, "Yeah, I guess father was right. Evil never rests does it? I wonder what we're gonna run across next. I'm not exactly sure what the plan is from here."

"I don't know. I guess we'll wait for Sadhana to show up before we figure out where we're going to start," Sienna says. "We've fought a lot of weird things already so I'm not expecting anything good from this point on."

"It's not clear, just soothing and hypnotic," Konstantyná says. "Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about me. Was the sandwich the only thing you wanted to make?"

I'm referring to this, but I think she just told Ieyasu. Konstantyná blushes. "Thank you, Ieyasu. Well...I am the daughter of an annis hag and a Setari chieftain. When the tribe finally found my mother's lair, all they found was me. Out of duty to the chieftain, they took me despite their reasonable reservations. But I was not treated like a chieftain's daughter, but as a commoner. It was only before I left the tribe that I learned of my heritage."
She waves her hand dismissively. "I left the Setari and roamed Zahvroma, learning of my connection to the Summoner Houses from another displaced Setari near Lysse. She took me in as she considered me still a little too young to be roaming the wilderness alone. She taught me much. In many ways, she was my mother. Her name was Isabel. Then came the two calls."

Konstantyná sips at her wine. "First was the call from my mother, who still lives somewhere on Zahvroma. The other was Drago, the sole Summoner at the time. Obviously, I fear going to my mother and becoming...more of a monster, so I chose Drago..."

She decides not to add anything to the end of her sentence, not sure how she felt about it now.

So, I'm not sure if she told anyone else other than him. If you say something about her acting weird though, I'm pretty sure I can get to the bottom of it. *wink wink*

Drago didn't press it, but something seemed off.

After thinking for a minute, "Hmmm, what's a dinner dish you think I can handle?"

"Hunh....that's some interesting insight into draconic biology." Sādhanā says with a raised eyebrow. "Okay, let's head to the northern gate to meet up with the others. There's something that needs to be done that may delay things a couple hours, or I might be able to handle it alone, but I want to lay it out to everyone before acting on it."

Magestreia shakes her head. "I think you misunderstood me. As a dragon, I could do my business wherever I pleased without any judgment."

"Stews are appropriate for the weather and pretty easy to make if you have the patience," Konstantyná says. "Find me a piece of paper and I'll jot down a simple recipe for you."

Sienna waves at Sadhana and the other Anizari as they approach.

Drago looked for a minute before finding some, "Here's a piece. And thank you Konstantyná, you're an excellent teacher."

"I'm glad that I can still be of some assistance to you," Konstantyná says, writing out her recipe neatly for Drago. "If that's all you need, I'm going to head back home."

"I think I can handle this. Again, thank you."

"You know where to find me if you need me," Konstantyná says, heading to the door. "Don't worry too much about the details of cooking. You'll get the hang of it soon enough."

She leaves Drago's home and heads back to her own.

Celia can't quite repress the surprised chuckle.

"Heh, yeah I did misunderstand." Sādhanā says with a hint of amusement. "Glad you caught on to that aspect rather than learn the awkward way."

She smiles seeing Sienna waving as she stands beside Cyna at the gate. "Hey girls, you two still have that bridal glow going." she says with a grin.

"I did study humans for a while," Magestreia says.

Sienna returns the smile. "Mmm, we made the most of the night. So where are we headed? I know Wyvaire's kingdom is to the northeast, but we don't know much of the area north of the tower."

She nods, "Yeah...so, do we know where we're headed to? I mean, I just wasn't sure what the plan was beyond going North."

"Wyvaire's stronghold is to the Northeast. I'm pretty sure that's where we'll have to go to find her captives. Ilneas is north of Lysse, which is probably where we'd want to head next." Sādhanā says after a few moments of thought.

"There's one other thing though." She proceeds to relate everything that happened with Arista's brother, detailing his armor and sword, and the current inert state. "The best chance destroy it without having to take him on first would be doing so within the next few days. Oblivion may be able to do it, and there's the volcano. Submerging in lava would be the other best chance of utterly destroying it and freeing his soul."

Sienna grimaces. "Well, that's not my favoritest place in the world...but, if it's for Arista, let's do it."

Setting his fears aside for now, Drago started working on the stew. Even still, he made a mental note to double check on Konstantyná later. Something felt off.

She nods, "I agree with Sienna."

"Same here. Do we want to fly there so that we can cover ground faster and get back on track afterwards?" Rhadaya asks.

"I concur, for what it's worth." Celia adds.

Tesia looks from Cyna to Sadhana as she waits to see how they wanted to handle travel arrangements. She had no problem flying them wherever they needed to go, if that's what they wanted to do.

Cyna shrugs. "Flying works, if you're up for it."

She looks at Sadhana, "That's fine with me, what do you want to do?"

Yulia returns from the cafe some time later to relax and check on Drago. "Something smells good."
