Waylon, you around? It's only Tilly and Waylon around the table to rp at the moment and I'm wondering if you have time to post in character so the game can begin to move forward and the new players can get into play?
For those who know The Lord of the Rings, Gandalf refers in this post to some events from the novels. His urgent business in the South is heading to Minas Tirith to examine the ancient scrolls for descriptions of the One Ring. The man he knows who's busy in Wilderland is Strider/Aragon, who is hunting for Gollum.
Waylon, anything to add re where we should go next in town to gather info on Bungo? I'm just waiting to hear from either Waylon or the GM, so I'm not ignoring you Belle. :)
Good to hear from you Mythicman19. Hoping you can get into the game soon.
I was just passively reading until Belle had a place to come in. Even now, I feel like I’ll have more to say as her place in the plot becomes more apparent. Perhaps Lascegore is also awaiting his cue?
I wasn’t sure if you had a particular entry point in mind, I have been reading along. Maybe I missed it im not the most perceptive fellow but if you’re ok I’ll hop in.
GM Tarondor, would you consider opening recruitment again and taking one new player, please? (Presently we’re down three with Primrose, Morwenn and kazmanaught). Someone who can be around to post consistently and rp with us.

I was just waiting for an "I'm ready." I'll work you in rapidly now.
Received my physical copies of the books today, along with dice and some gorgeous cloth maps of Eriador and the Shire from the Kickstarter. I'm thrilled with the quality. I only wish they'd done a similar map of all of Middle-Earth.
Not under MY roof… or I say that, but my 3rd grade daughter already broke a boy’s heart years ago. He cried, then decided he likes the girl down the street and asked my daughter to introduce him to her.
GM, (Chakos here). Give me a chance to grab the rules, and I'll see about putting together a character. From what you said, the group is lacking a dwarf, so I'd be up for that.
Haha kids are such a treat sometimes, thankfully school isn’t for another year or so for my daughter. I can’t even imagine her in 4th grade.
But hello! Unfortunately no advice besides read the book I guess haha, I’m just waiting for the first situation we get in to roll. Playing and learning rules as they apply always made more sense to me than reading rules then trying to apply them.
My advice, based on having played and GM'ed a fair amount of TOR 1e is to just play what pleases you for role-playing purposes. Combat efficiency or even skill efficiency are much less of a thing than in Pathfinder or D&D. In this regard the game is more like many rules-light systems (with which I also have some experience).
Ruleset procured and downloaded. Parts of it briefly scanned.
6 possible PC races/backgrounds.
Given that the existing cannon of adventuring parties has one with 13 dwarves, 1 maiar, and 1 hobbit, and the other has 4 halflings, 2 humans, 1 dwarf, 1 elf, and 1 maiar, the only consistent thing there is having a maiar in the party and another race overly represented! Since Ents are out, I'm guessing maiar are too! Although, strictly speaking Gandalf wasn't a member of Thorin's Company, he just happened to be going in the same direct. 13 dwarves, and thus Bilbo was the lucky number.
Welcome, Zahir ibn Mahmoud ibn Jothan. Please play something you would enjoy. There are two heroic cultures not covered in game: Bardings and Dwarves of Durin's Folk.

@Elliot: Hello! If the GM's (and other players are ) okay with it, I'm happy (as a player) to have another enthusiastic/eager player join us.
Whatever Tilly and the GM say is fine with me regarding new, enthusiastic players.
Art of Disappearing is my hobbit special move, and stealth has three boxes plus the favored box. So I think it means I roll a bunch of dice, and remain in Stealth Mode until I decide to show myself again. It seemed the most fun of the hobbit options, and one of two that made sense for one yet to have experienced combat.

Belle, the group knows where Bungo went. They're trying to figure out why.
Alright, PC sent to the GM, I'm sure he'll either a) post the link post haste, or b) message me back telling me I've made a total mess of character creation.
Update: He posted it, so I couldn't have screwed it up too much!
Recognizing that the group is just reforming after a hiatus, and I believe switching to an alternate ruleset, it seems that hitting a 15 with 1d12+1d6 is rather difficult. It's impossible with any skill you haven't added any skill ranks to.
While the rulebook states that hitting in combat is based on your Strength TN, it is also modified by the opponent's Parry, but how? I couldn't find the "how" in the book anywhere. Again, hitting a 15 even with 1d12+2d6 will, more often than not fail, as that will be a 13.5 average, and then making it harder with Parry, well, makes it harder, hahaha.
We're not sure about Morwenn. Her player declared they wished to play, however we haven't heard from them since they said they would have to revise their character from 1e to 2e. So officially, they haven't said they are not playing.
