”Aherm, a-yes master, it will be alright. It's been a frustrating day for everyone I think. Just relax and things will look better."

Tanz sighed again, but nodded.

"We go home. See tonight. Enjoy steam," Tanz bade Risbeth farewell.

GM/Tanz:

Risbeth will offer Tanz a ride with her and drop him off, either at her place or his place, and remind him to meet up at her place at sundown if he doesn't want to go to her place now. Then she'll go soak in the hot water until she can talk to Madame Palm, and then go back to her place.

I think that get's Risbeth and Tanz up to nightfall, and time to reunite with Trops and Raul.


Tanz and Risbeth are to the night meeting. Trops and Raul are still investigating. They might be done soon but they will definitely need some steaming.

"So... what sister guild was thaT? Where from? How do you know he was from another fool's gUILD?"

Trops puts a hand back in his backpack getting his hand on another silver coin, he watches the informants before taking it out and waits for their answer.


GM/Raul:

"Bugrit. He didn't say, just that he was hungry, and moons of the sails that he needed to find the fool's guild."

Sense Motive DC 15:

The tone of Foul Ole Ron is crazy, what else did you expect.

Foul Ole Ron doesn't appear to be the one talking

Raul narrows his eyes suspiciously. "Who speaks for you Ron?"


Raul/Trops:

Wow, nice Sense Motive there
"Bugret, sails on the moon, burgret, one of Altogether Andrews is a ventrilokist (speller how it was pronounced), burgrit."

Sense Motive Or Perc DC 20:

Altogether Andrews is facing away from you, so you aren't sure, but his chest doesn't seem to be moving other than breathing.


DM/Trops:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Raul snorts, glancing around at who might be the one speaking for him.


Raul/Trops:

Way to one up yourself.

Foul Ole Ron is defnitely not doing any coherant talking. Altogether Andrews isn't doing the talking, unless he is a world class ventriloquist. That thought springs up too, the way ventriloquist was said seems to imply a speaker who can't form the word properly, possibly because Morporkian is no their primary language. The sound is coming from the area of the duck man. Is the duck talking? Yes, it must be the duck talking

Ya, max ranks in sense motive and a high wis score. Raul's not good at talking to people but he can figure them out.

Raul glances at the duck, then looks around at any other animals in the vicinity.


Raul:

Maybe it's just the odd situation, but those thoughts don't seem to be completely your own.


DM/Trops:

Raul bares his fangs, shifting just a hint closer to his hybrid form. He grabs Ron by the collar, picking him clean off the ground. "I suggest you tell me everything you know right now. I haven't had raw meat in a very long time."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19


Raul/Trops:

This close to Foul Ole Ron, and with a hypersensistive nose, you realize the full effect of his smell. you manage to force bag a gag, but you are just a hair less intimidating than you meant to be.

will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Foul Ole Ron, and you are sure it's him this time, says "Bugrit?" No one else speaks, but Altogether Andrews stirs and adopts a new facial expression.


DM/Trops:

Raul glances at Altogether Andrews, narrowing his eyes. He drops Ron and moves over to Andrews. "Well somebody here should start talking, very soon."


Raul/GM:

"Calm down Goatie man" manages to truly whisper Trops.

The gnome looks around (what's the layout of the place like?).

Looking back at Foul Ole Ron:
"So, wanna tell us who your really aRE?"
As he finishes the sentence, Trops closes his eyes and listens, trying to avoid the ventroliquist effect and guide his senses through sound alone.

Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11


Raul/Trops:

The Duck Man jumps up, "No, don't. He might come out"

The Judge is the personality that speaks though, turning Altogether Andrew's face stern. The others relax visibly at this development. "You sir, have already heard everything we have to say. This fellow came to us as a stranger and we decided to prank him by sending him to Dibbler. I did not quite approve, I was overruled 9-3 by this group though, and so we sent him to the Sausage in a bun dealer."


Raul/Trops:

The scene is set under a bridge with the 5 beggars in a loose semi circle. You entered not quite at the head of the semi-circle, so that Altogeteher Andrews is completely facing away from you (or was when you appprached) and Foul Ole Ron, with the dog next to him, are facing you. The center of the circle has a small metal barrel with a contained fire inside of it. It's not quite chilly outside, so the fire seems mostly for show.


Raul/Trops:

Foul Ole Ron is very confused. "Bugrit?"


GM/Raul:

Trops' shoulders fall, he sights, disappointed that the ventriloquist did not make himself known by speaking in the place of foul ole Ron again. Then, he whistles and waits from Gordo to come. As soon as the fat pigeon arrives, the wee man mounts him and flies off into the air. There, he circles the region, trying to spot anyone else who might be walking or hiding in the vicinity.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10


Rail/Trops:

You don't see anyone in the vicinity.


DM/Trops:
Apologies, I somehow lost the dot.

Raul falls back, nodding to them and leaving.

He whispers to Trops "We should meet back up, perhaps Risbeth can make heads or tails of this."


DM/Raul:

"AgreED! So, smelled the person who was spying on us?"


I'm back, which means it's serious quest time.

Tanz and Igor arrive at Risbeth's residence first, downcast with little to show for their investigative work. Trops and Raul arrive together a while later, confused, but pretty sure they have a lead.

Risbeth welcomes them in. Well, actually Igorina does, but on Risbeth's behalf, which is just as good.

Once everyone is in the main room around the table, she smiles. "Ok, I don't have anything solid, but I have some information and guesses based on what I found out. Did anyone find out anything more concrete? If so, they can go first, if not, we'll just go around the table."


"Aye." Raul recounts everything they have learned on their somewhat more fruitful day. "Don't like it, just doesn't smell right to me."

Uhm, I don't think we're supposed to go read all your past posts are we? I would expect Raul would have to summarize it? After all, we would need to base our decisions on what Raul told us, not what we read he saw or was told, as those may be different.

I'll cover it

Basically, Raul and Trops found out that the phony assassins were hired by the leader to be in the assassin's guild. The non-leader members did not know it was a fake, they were just from out of town and were sucked into the leader's story. The Assassin's Guild uncovered remains of Dibbler's sausages in the assassin leader, so the two headed there. Dibberl, after being pressured, remember the leader and said that he smelled pretty terrible. Raul was able to track the smell of the paper money the man used to pay to Foul Ole Ron. Trops and Raul ventured to the Canting Cre's territory under he bridge where they werre told by a voice that was not Foul Ole Ron that the leader had come in from some other city where he was a member of the Fool's Guild and he wanted to know where the A-M Fool's Guild was. He also mentioned he was hungry so the "voice that is not Ron's" played a joke on him by sending him to Dibbler. The two were not able to uncover the source of the voice among the Canting Crew.


"The voice was stranGE! Thought it came from someone trying to mislead US! What do you think Goatie man?"

Risbeth nods. "Interesting. What I found out was that Vimes has taken a personal interest. Either he has personally pulled our patent application, or someone has pulled it under the false authority of the Watch. Cherry is going to look into it. I gave her a full statement of what happened. You two need to stop by and do so as well. Tanz already gave one." She taps her fingernail on the table as she think. "Cherry is going to try pulling the bullet from the body. Once she has that, we'll all need to go give her samples of our bullets, so she can compare." Early black powder weapons all had semi unique bullets, as each mold was made for the specific barrel. "We are prime suspects. At least that is the official line at Watch HQ. However, Cherry let me in to the alchemy lab, answered every question I had honestly, or at least I believe she did. She also checked the file and couldn't find our Patent. If Vimes believed I was behind it, I'd have been barred from anything other than the interview room. Same for Tanz. You should give a statement and see how they treat you, to see if you are a real suspect, or just one of Vimesey's little ploys." She thinks a few seconds. "I think that is it for my day. Tanz? Your day? And then we can discuss what to do next..."

Risbeth nods. "So, we need to check out the Fool's Guild? That seems odd, I'd put them way down on my list of people who might be behind this. But it's the only real lead we have I suppose. Oh, I started a rumor about Vimesy seeing me professionally. Now, you know how the Watch gossips, so which of my four professions do you think they'll be saying he's availed himself of?" She smiles, fangs glinting in the firelight. "So, I expect him to make an appearance here, rather angrily, sometime during the day. Probably at Noon, to brow beat me. You might want to make yourselves scarce when he shows up. But it's the only way to get the man to talk to you." She shrugs. "Ok, so, who's head do we need to bust in at the Fool's Guild?"


"I don't know. I suppose I'll know I'm right when somebody starts talking."


"Or the person on duty at the entranCE!"

Risbeth nods and looks thoughtful. "Well, if you think it would be worth it, I could ask Ms. Palm if there are any customers in the guild, and get put on the books as active again and try to get sent in to perform seamstress work? If I volunteer, I'm sure I'll get sent. They have to pay a bonus to get seamstresses to work in the guild. It's not a very happy place."


Still need for someone to do something to advance it.

I am open to suggestions, but this is Raul's only lead and this is typically how he handles things. Show up, bare some fangs, ask some questions.

Seeing that everyone is deep in thought about the next step of the investigation, Trops speaks up:

"Know what, let me go and walk around their guild stealthiLY! I will know the place, people and gossips. Wait a day and I will tell you ALL. What do you SAY?"


Are we letting Trops run his surveillance first?


Raul nods thoughtfully. "That's a good idea, do it Trops."
