Vertielle Siepar |

This scene is still paused in my head, Gkirkhan's foot firmly through the door, splinters flying everywhere while Wood glows with magic as a mountainous mass of grey and black metal slowly rises to a whopping fourteen feet tall behind Vertielle, her whip gracefully winding behind her, just above the head of sneaking Zhiden.

Vertielle Siepar |

Vertielle smirks as she ducks under some shrapnel from what was once a door. She gives the room a scanning glance and apologetically addresses the stunned inhabitants.
Sorry, but your doorbell was broken.

The_Ninja_DM |

The now immense Rova has some issues entering the next room.
Rova is 8' tall normally. ;)
The room is a stable containing one broken-down horse just barely away from the knacker's knife in the first stall and the second supplying what appears to be barracks for more of the Mongrel men. There is a ladder (not shown) against the back wall of the second stall, leading up to a closed trap door.

Vertielle Siepar |

The horse nickers at our grand entrance.
Vertielle shrugs, moving over to the ladder and testing it briefly.
She inclines her head towards Rova.
Ain't gonna fit him up there now. Maybe he can just set us down upstairs, though.

Zhiden Enack |

I do so love Gkirhan, but I have to say, sometimes he needs a translator. For example, this line: "Vhy? Hy tot ve vas done vit de sottle."
For the record, would that translate into:
'Why? I thought we was done with the battle.'

Gkirkhan |

Sottle = subtle. Gkirkhan was an attempt at building a Jagermonster from Girl Genius. If you read the comic, it gets a little easier to unerstand. Plus, the comic is well worth reading anyway. As I said at the beginning of the game, if I need to provide translations I can.
At any rate, I'm glad you like him. I worry when I play characters that can and probably will get he party into trouble at some point. If everyone's having fun and likes the character, though, I'm not quite as worried about making someone mad at me.

The_Ninja_DM |

Those of you capable of climbing the ladder pop open a trapdoor into the loading bay.
The loading bay is currently empty except for a few wooden cases and a retractable wood and iron crane in front of the sliding door overlooking the courtyard.
12 vials of acid
12 vials of nushadir
5 tanglefoot bags
3 thunderstones
The only other exits appear to be the sliding door to the dock (you can use the crane to get Rova up) and a door in the north wall.

Gkirkhan |

Bullrush: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Gkikhan looks at the door to the north. He sets the hammer down against his leg and uses his thumb to line up the door. The hammer is back in his hands and a moment later another door is in shambles.
Okay, I think we should start searching as quickly as possible, If we hurry, we can probably catch these guys before they get away.

The_Ninja_DM |

Ok, so you're just bursting in? Works for me.
You bash open the door and exit onto a 5' wide balcony overlooking the workroom. As you do, the closest door on the eastern wall flies open and a small figure steps out, shouting down to the workers "That's enough! Do we need to come down there to break this up?"
The sound of the door bursting open draws his attention and he turns, as if to shout at the interruption, then realizes it's not his workers.
"Vorkstag! Intruders!"

Wood
Grine
Rova
Vertielle
Gkirkhan
Eva
Grine then ducks back into the room, slamming the door behind him.

Gkirkhan |

Hey look! My plan worked! ;P Whether this is a good plan remains to be seen because...of this image right here. (The bottom left of it actually.)
Gkirkhan grins his wolfish grin before rushing around the balcony aiming to make it to the door that the man had just closed.
Assuming that Gkirkhan has a standard action left. Prepare an attack on the man if he comes through the door, or anything hostile that comes through the door.
Beate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Vertielle Siepar |

Vertielle gets ready to aid her comrades when the threat arises.
Position to be able to reach, ready aid to AC first ally attacked with combat expertise.
Defensive: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 1 = 5
That might actually hinder them, whoooops

Gkirkhan |

Well so much for that plan.
Gkirkhan waits, but his patience is already played out. He sheathes Sieglinde and grasps Beate with both hands
STR Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
"GUTEN TAG!"
The big fighter steps into the doorway, his eyes glowing red.
"Ve haff much to discuss Herr Death-mage."

Zhiden Enack |

Zhiden remains hidden, waiting for someone to move into position where he can reach. When that happens, he would move around their back and plunge his sword in deep.
Holding action until someone gets close, and I'll include an attack in case it happens

Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 3d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (6, 2, 2) = 14
possible critical damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Wood the Wizard |

After the big fighter takes the door down, the wizard now disguised as a worker completes the arcane spell with a flourish.
A small pea flies into the room and detonated silhouetting Gkirkan in the doorway.
ref DC 18for half: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 6, 5) = 24
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 celestial dogs rush into the room.

The_Ninja_DM |

The room Gkirkhan has just burst into seems as much an abattoir as a bedroom. It appears to be part alchemy lab, part slaughterhouse and part bedroom, containing a four-poster bed, numerous workbenches and alchemical gear. The walls are lined with shelves and strange-looking objects in jars of liquid. Bits of rags litter the floor, and the air is heavy with the stench of spoiled food mixed with acrid chemicals. There is a ladder leading to a trapdoor in the ceiling.
