Have we had time to rest? Or are we still on yesterday's spells? I know that we had discussed it, but do not recall whether we rested.

Eli and Hound heard the steps in the woods just as you were tethering the horses and trying to get Krull to wait.

Unsure of what she is facing, Ghae holds her club at the ready, but delays waiting for some indication as to how her new companions wish to handle this.

Those back by the horses should have no reason to think Raz, Eli and Q have run into any trouble yet, unless one of them cries out or something like that.

Ah, I read Eli's comment that he was looking at his companions as that he was looking at all of us, not just Q and Raz.

Those three went a-scouting.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

No problem, just missed out on the distance that they went and how far separated we were.

Grimmy, do we have a map to get an idea on their positioning and so forth?

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Ditto about the map

Q takes up position and watches Raz and Eli, staying a comfortable distance away from them.

Say he's about 25' away from them

hmm let's see if I can draw something up

Rough Map

The darker green line is the edge of the woods. Between the line and the blue is a beach kind of area.

I cannot access the map Grimmy :/

Oops try now.

The numbers are the weird barefooted vagabond dudes. 1-9 are the ones who morphed from trees. 10, 11, 12 are the original three you were snooping on.

The "X" is the general area where the vine came from that snatched Q's bow.

Couple perception DC's for Hound, Ghaelja and Ogrim.

DC 25 - Hear someone speak to Eli and Raziel but can't make out what was said.

DC 28 - Hear/see Q being disarmed.

DC 30 - Hear the details of what was said.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Q warks angrily and goes to steal his bow back. "You've made a grave mistake, hombre."

Wow, I missed that post entirely on the previous page. I had a busy weekend. :p

Perception to find the culprit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Disarm attempt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

You can see the vine that snatched your bow. The "X" on the map was it's point of origin.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Still following through with my disarm attempt of the vine.

Ok.

--> This is not enough for the above spoilers, but is it enough to hear Q angrily threaten the vine?

Oh yeah, that's easy.

Round 1 Init 22:

The man who commanded you to drop your weapons, one of the original three who led you into the trap, says two words, in a flat tone.

"Drop him."

He and the two at his side let arrows fly.

vs flat-footed

Ghae looks to Hound and Ogrim.
Something not good is happening. I think our companions may need some help.

She and Trangles then move forward.

I moved the avatar on the map. There is no icon for Trangles, but he would have moved with me. He is slower, 20' speed, so he would be behind by 20' with a double move.

Round 1 Init:

Brigand Leaders - 22
Ghaelja - 20 <<<<
Raziel - 18 <<<<
? - 15
Hound - 11 <<<<
Eli - 8 <<<<
Brigands - 6
Q - 4
Ogrim - 4

"<<<<" Go!

Already posted, beat you by about 20 seconds.

I saw your post.

Added Trangles token.

Need to look at environmental factors to figure out how many hits Q took.

Seeing the assailants target Q, Raziel grabs the opportunity with both hands, and with a quick gesture, summons his arcane powers to disappear from sight.

Casting Vanish, and getting the hell out of 'Dodge' - icon moved on the map.

"We're under attack!" - he shouts a warning to the others.

As Raziel utters the incantation, 3 of the strange barefoot band loose their already nocked arrows.

Readied Action

vs Flat-Footed

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 (hit)
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

20% Miss Chance (concealment):
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 40

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Precision: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

8 damage

DC 19 Concentration Check or lose spell.

Concentration: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

BOOM! Raziel takes off like an invisible, hurt, but FAST arrow :D

One question though Grimmy, if we are on initiative, how come Raziel is flat-footed?

You're flat-footed until you act.

Ok, so their readied actions came from the surprise round - is that it?

Right, readied actions happen before the event that triggers them.

Ok then - thanks for the clarification Grimmy. I am assuming Q went down in that volley, right?

Looks like he went down but I have to double check some math and also I need to ask him if he was taking advantage of the underbrush for concealment.

Hound double moves to Ghalja's position

With Raziel making his escape, Eli finds himself being addressed. Six bowstrings are already drawn back and trembling, and six more are being swiftly reloaded.

"Drop your weapons, horse thief, and tell your friend to reveal himself."

Hound and Ghaelja do you have weapons out or otherwise look threatening?

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

I'm having some trouble understanding the map, are the archers within 30' of me? Are the numbers the enemies? Which one was talking? Who did he order to fire? This is important because they have to be within 30ft (inclusive) to add precision damage.

Yeah you are right, they are too far, no precision damage.

@Raziel:You also take no precision damage, because you had concealment. Take back 3 HP ;)

So, 5 damage Raz, 9 damage Q.

Six foot plus of barbarian is threatoning

"You're trespassing in these woods. Lay down your arms before anyone else gets hurt!"

backgrounds

Ogrim moves closer (double move).

"Maybe we should all just calm down. Who are ye to lay claim to these woods?"

"We are the kin of Killian Kincaid, and these woods are what was left to us when we were driven from our ancestral home in the Telophus Fields. Those horses were bred by our fathers and were never meant to wear your bit and bridle."

Just sitting out the convo here. Just assume Hound is standing there

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Q stumbles back to his feet, arrows hanging out of his person, and stares at the vine that has his bow, then back at the men who fired.

"No more talk. Drop the weapons and tell the demon to reveal himself."

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ghae looks at the speaker and then at the vine with the weapon.
Precisely our thought.

Male Human Deep Walker Ranger 3 [Exp: 6290] [HP: 34, Init: +5 (+7 underground), Perc: +7 (+9 underground), AC: 16, Tch: 12, Flt: 14, Fort: 5 (+4 Endurance), Ref: 4, Will: 2] [Melee +8 (1d10+6/18-20/×2)]

Eli bit back a growl at the unfair accusations and stared at the bandit leader addressing him "Not bloody likely." Eli swallowed the rest of his sarcastic comments as he began to really take in the number of arrows pointed his way and spoke to his comrades. "You know, we were planning on letting them rest here anyway. We can make it the rest of the way on foot, as planned, it'll just take a bit longer to make it back to the town tomorrow."

"As for you, unknock your arrows, return my friend's bow, and we'll be on our way. And quick-like. We're in a bit of a rush. If you want to look for the horse thieves, we can't help you. We bought these horses just prior to our journey. We've not been in this area for more'n a couple of days."
