Wrath of Dagon's Init

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

SPECIAL RULES FOR THIS COMBAT

Cliff: The cliff is roughly 25 feet (5 squares) from top
to bottom. It requires a DC 20 Athletics check to climb.

Mud: Due to the rains, the beach is difficult terrain.

Rain: All creatures more than 1 square distant have
concealment (–2 to attacks). Perception checks take a –2
penalty. The rain extinguishes unprotected flames.

Tide: The tide here is violent and unpredictable.
Treat it as a ranged attack against all creatures on the
ground, with a recharge of 6 on a d6. The tide goes first
in any round where it “attacks.” Roll a +14 vs. Reflex
attack; on a hit, the target is knocked prone. The Wrath
gains a +2 racial bonus to its Reflex defense against this
attack, due to its insectoid and aquatic nature.

The Wrath of Dagon gets a surprise round.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

"By the grace of Bahamut!! This unholy evil will be put down." Grafire manages to sputter out. The words slow there exit as the beast is seen wriggling and thrashing about.

TIDAL ATTACK. Against Grafire, Seram. Akahale, Manny, Rowan, IT. Vs Ref.

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 321d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 211d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 271d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 161d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 341d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

EVeryone except Manny is knocked prone!

The sea rushes in, knocking everyone off their feet, everyone except the crazy old man, in his by now wet and dirty robes!

Surprise round - Wrath of Dagon moves to NW of IT. 1st normal round - recharge roll for tidal attack.

1d6 ⇒ 5

N Warforged Fighter

Did the Tide attack the Wrath?

The Wrath was in the sea - it only attacks those on the land.

Wrathful Pheremone - close burst 3 - attacks every party member. attacks against Grafire, Seram. Akahale, Manny, Rowan, IT. Vs Will.

1d20+15
8+15 = 23

1d20+15
15+15 = 30

1d20+15
3+15 = 18

1d20+15
17+15 = 32

1d20+15
20+15 = 35

1d20+15
18+15 = 33

Everyone except Akahale is affected. All the others are now under the following effect: the target must use a standard action on its next turn to make a basic attack against its nearest ally. If no ally is within range of a basic attack, the target loses its standard action for that round.

The WoD spends an action point to make a Snapping Claws attack - two claw attacks. Both target IT. 27 and 33 vs AC. Both hit - [b]IT takes 25 damage and 5 ongoing poison damage.

Akahale looks on in terror and bewilderment as his allies all suddenly seem overcome with violence and anger! The horrifying monstrosity crushes IT in its horrid grip...

Map to follow

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

what does the wrathful pheremone attack due to us? And what about swimming? Is it possable to attack while swimming?

Grafire - the effect of the Wrathful Pheremone is detailed above. You can attack when swimming, but no-one is swimming at the moment.

>>>>MAP<<<<

Grafire Prone and must use standard action to make a melee basic attack against an adjacent ally
Seram Prone and must use standard action to make a melee basic attack against an adjacent ally

You're up.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

So we must attak an ally? Doh..that sucks. :D Mean ol' nasty fich stick. Looks like its me and you Seram.

With saltwater in the eyes and stink in the nose Grafire thinks he sees something move and takes a swing in that direction.

Basic attack on Seram:
1d20+13=23
Damage:1d10+5=7

I cant remeber if there is any penalties for swinging an axe while prone, or at least I am hoping for one this time. :D Seem to always get a hit when I don't want one and never when I do. Go figure. :D

I think the penalty for attacking while prone is -2; Just checked the ol' PHB. The penalty is -2.

Minor action stand from prone

Filled with the anger of the Wrath of Dagon, Seram strikes out against Grafire.

"Best to hit'em when they're down"

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26; Damage 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 4) + 13 = 20 cold

"Now for you"

Move to D6

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

If allowed I would take a minor to stand after Seram bashes me. Is the cold damage part of a standard melee basic attack?

Yup, frost scimitar.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Urk. I go to London for one day, come back and chaos has struck.

Oooh,... NOW i get it. I didn't realize that the tide covered the entire beach! (Or I just didn't realize I was standing in the surf!) Let me know when I'm up,... and whom I have to splat! :)

Manny stands in the surf amid his splashing and sputtering comrades, andlooks at the water receding from his feet.

"IT! Did YOU leave the well running?!? I know it wasn't me! [smaller]At least I hope it wasn't me,... again,...[/ooc]"

EDIT- Looked at teh map again, I most definitely misunderstood you before, I distinctly thought I was a LOT closer to the compass! :P (I probably got your A-Z and 1-9 backwards, no problem) ;)

Grafire - standing is a move action. Seram can do it as a minor because of his magic boots. But yes, you could stand up with a move action.

Grafire and Seram are now standing. Each hits the other, please take the damage as listed.

Grafire and Seram start attacking one another in a wet, sandy melee.

Akahale and Rowan are up. No change to the map

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Eying Rowan uneasily, Akahale scrambles to his feet and curses the gigantic shrimp.

"You are an affront to crustacea everywhere," he pronounces firmly.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 - v Ref. Your Delicious Weakness. If it hits, does 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4) + 9 = 19 damage. If it's vulnerable to anything, the damage is of that type. It also takes 1d8 ⇒ 4 curse damage.

That hits!

Akahale smashes dire energy into his nightmare, which seems to enrage the beast.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

"AH ha!"

Rowan cries out, "Platinum Dragon deliver us!" and obviously very confused, attacks Akahale!

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d10 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

A lucky miss.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

"Father Rowan, redirect your attentions."

Akahale just has enough sense to get out of the way in time. {ooc]Ooof. Too close for comfort.[/ooc]

IT and Manny are up. Rowan, Grafire, Seram and Akahale are no longer prone.

IT must attack an adjacent ally.

N Warforged Fighter

IT's armor negates the ongoing poison as an encounter power, before IT takes the damage.

IT stands and swings IT's craghammer at Rowan.

vs AC 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Rowan gasps as IT's hammer impacts against him.

A hit indeed. Manny's turn.

Yay! My turn! ;) And I'm free to attack whom I wish, correct?

Manny looks at the others with a bemused look as they begin whaling away on each other instead of the creature!

"Hmmph. And people say I'M crazy!" He mutters as he turns his staff toward the villainous crustacean.

Eyebite, vs WILL, psychic dmg and I'm invis to creature until start of my next turn. To hit/Dmg:

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Sorry, Manny you also have to direct a basic melee attack against an ally.

Oopsy! Bummer!

Manny looks at the others with a bemused look as they begin whaling away on each other instead of the creature!

"Hmmph. And people say I'M crazy!" He mutters as he turns around, and attempts to whallop the nearest person on top of the head!

Staff attack! Donatello magus!

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 211d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I randomised who you attacked. You missed Grafire.

Initiative

Wrath of Dagon
Grafire
Seram
Akahale
Rowan
IT
Manny

Recharge roll for tide:
1d6 ⇒ 4

I forgot that it has an aura 5 - Disorientating Pheremone, you are all at -2 to Perception checks and -1 to Will defense. Trippy man.

Double claw attack vs IT.

1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 202d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 151d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 362d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9

The monstrosity concentrates its attacks on the warforged, as IT seems a credible threat.

9 damage to IT.

Grafire and Seram's turn.

>>>>MAP<<<<

We can use our standard action normally now, yes?

Seram swings the remains of his frozen attavk from his blade, "Have a good idea that won't work on ya"

Howling Strike on the Wrath 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22; Damage 2d4 + 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (1, 1) + (6) + 13 = 21

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Grafire will hold until Seram goes. I guess put Seram just south of the beasty and to the left of IT. Grafire will move through Manny, Rowan then up north 2 and then NW 1 and then SW 1 to flank the beasty with Seram.

Viper Strike - 1d20+13=14
Damage - 0

The beach is difficult terrain. In order to flank with Seram - you'll either have to flank with Seram, you'll have to double move and take an OA.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Oh yes I forgot. Since I didn't hit any way Can I make it through E-1 NE-1 then Nw-1 hopefully that will put me just north of IT without taking a OA. It wont be a flank but it'll get me within attack range.

That's fine.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Minor. Breath cold over big prawn. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 - v Ref. On hit 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 cold damage.

Can Akahale move back 3 squares? If so, he will to gain concealment.

Standard - Eldritch Blast (Ref) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20. That won't hit. May I add curse damage 1d8 ⇒ 8 to the dragon breath instead if that does hit?

Finally faced with his inner shrimp, Akahale attempts to deep freeze it before backing away and lobbing a bolt of eldritch power uselessly into the sand.

You can indeed move. Both attacks miss. Do we have Hopeless back?

Akahale unleashes his frigid breath, but the creature shrugs it off. He retreats and lets forth a blast of arcane power, which similar has no effect.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

No sign of hopeless at all.

Ah well. No real surprise on the misses. At least he gains concealment.

I'll take Rowan's turn again.
