pronounced similar to Eric

This image is close enough. while not nearly as ugly as the majority of half-orcs, his green tinted skin and pointy ears give away his heritage. He has a goatee (early facial hair possibly from his orc side) in an attempt to hide his tusks. He stands at 6'5" and while being proportionate in mass for his height he is more slight than bulky and slouches a bit in an unconscious attempt to be more of a normal human height.

Airak was raised in Belhaim his whole life and has seen little of the outside, but knows a fair amount from his mothers songs. He was raised by a single Szarni female bard named Fawlla who settled down in Belhaim around the time of his birth. The two have been the entertainers and workers at the Local tavern since shortly after their arrival. Pretty and a good bard, Fawlla is generally well liked.

Airak is a fairly good-natured fellow and has a unexpected optimism with women (though very little success so far). While having many friends around town, his amorous nature towards the ladies has caused more friction with other men who already have a prejudice, or are just jealous of his courage and/or forwardness.

For background/general knowledge, not too much is known about Inwismë. A recent refugee from Galt, the elf has only lived in the town a few scarce months. In those months, she's made little effort to be involved with the townsfolk. Aside from semi-regular dealings with the town wizard Hunclay and the fact that she is currently raising Red, she had largely remained removed from town affairs. This has cast some degree of suspicion and uncertainty about her, but she either is ignorant of the town's attitude or simply does not care.

Red was tag along kind of kid growing up. being one of the youngest children in the village she didn't have anyone other than the older kids to follow around. Not very athletic, Red generally failed at most of the games they played. Even though she knew she was bad at some things, that never stopped her from trying anyway.

At the age of 7 Red disappeared without a trace for 6 long years. 3 months prior to the present Red was returned to the village by an elf named Inwismë. some of the older folk recognized her and even offered to take her in, but Red adamantly refused to leave Inwismë. Looking at her now few traces of the child she had been remain. Red stands 5'3" tall is average weight for a girl her age. Red's general expression is one of exhaustion and fear. On her wrists are two heavy looking manacles with small bits of chain still attached.

Okay guys, there is still somethings that need to be done before I start up the game.

Like MJ, those that were raised in town (all but the elf wizard) need to figure out the role in the group. As you all grew up together, I only require one thing. The relationship you have with others must be based on friendship, rivalries, partners in crime, whatever. No one is allowed to play the loner card. If you want a discussion go ahead about this, otherwise identify yourself with a trope (like the tag along). In game, I will happily reward fun references to past events that weren't discussed at length at here. Just in good fun, don't make someone look like an idiot in the past without their permission. Just throw it in a spoiler tag, and let them respond.

We still need Bryce, Shane, and Drew to post on here.

Details might change, but the story is generally the same. I just want to get a picture going for you all.

The story so far...

The Dragon Plague years were quite eventful for northern Taldor. During the years between 3660 and 3672 ar, the region endured an explosion of violent and bloody depredations by no fewer than three dozen different dragons. Among those affected by the attacks was a young woman named Tula Belhaim, who lost her family when a black dragon named Aeteperax destroyed her hometown of Nazilli on the southern edge of the Verduran Forest. She would go on to become a great hero, and the mercenary company she founded— the Slayers of Nazilli—defeated more dragons than any other group in those days. Her final triumph was slaying Aeteperax in the heart of a swampland deep in the part of the Verduran Forest known today as Dragonfen.

For her service, the Taldan emperor awarded Tula the title of Baroness and the stewardship of the Verduran Fork region, including all of Dragonfen. Her legions of admirers
soon founded a town bearing her name, its buildings built of limestone quarried nearby.

Life was quite calm in Belhaim for generations.

Seven years ago a young halfling by the name of Loman was found by hunter Theon Sensina. The boy was half delirious from hunger and dehydration when brought back to town. It was later found out that he had left a terrible orphanage with friends. They were attacked by a group of monsters that he struggled to identify. He was the sole survivor.

A year later, the old war horn blared, stirring the town in the late evening hours. Red Everafter, a young child had gone missing while playing in the woods with her friends. They would explain that they were exploring the Flooded Quarry. When they lost track of her, they had thought she had gone home for supper. Sheriff Benhovy rallied a large group of men, armed with mostly farming equipment, to search the area the friends had last saw her. They stayed late into the night, until the Sheriff called everyone back to town to start early the next day. The only person who refused to leave was Red's father, Kevnan. As the men woke to continue their search, Kevnan came back to town. His face bared the marks of defeat, as his hands were clutching the bloodstained ragged shirt of his daughter.

It didn't seem like town was ever going to be the same again.

NOTE: If any PC would have stayed with Kevnan, say so and I will add it to the town history.

The son of a woodsman, and an accomplished hunter, Kavin spent his early years in the forests surrounding Belhaim. Taught from a young age the art of hunting, tracking, survival, and archery- Kavin is known throughout the town as a proficient Hunter. When Red disappeared without a trace, Kavin went with her father to try and find any trace of her. Lending his tracking skills to the search, Kavin turned back only when the blood stained and tattered remains of red's shirt were found. Seeing this as a personal failing in himself, to be unable to bring his friend back safe from the wilderness in which he spent so much time, Kavin became indrawn and reclusive from the rest of the Children whom he once played with and called friend.

Following Reds disappearance, Kavin retreated to the woods. There he would spend the next several years honing his skill in tracking, hunting, and learning every inch of the forests and swamps surrounding Belhaim. While the rest of the town sees him as obsessed, and more than a little strange with his reclusive ways, Kavin cares little. Instead focusing on making himself as skilled as possible so that should something similar befall the town in the Future, he would have the skill and talent necessary to avert disaster.

Loman was 10 years old, wore a button up cotton shirt, dark brown coat, and black pants. He was a young halfling that was very rebellious. He was taken in by an orphanage after his parents were found ripped apart in the nearby forest. Loman had made a group of friends at his stay in the orphanage. After weeks of abuse from the owners of the orphanage; Loman convinced his friends Barrie, Bran, and Durk to run away and set off for adventure. They stole from the orphanage's food supply and grabbed some camping equipment then took off in the middle of a hot summer night.

After a week of traveling through the forest, the boys food supply was starting to become scarce. They all started to regret their decision and tried to find their way back. After hours of searching they finally gave up. They were lost and started to blame Loman for this reckless plan. Hours of arguing took place among the boys while the sky grew black and cracked with thunder. They stopped their squabbling to set up camp for the night in a dug out ditch on the side of cliff face. Rain started to pour as they were all huddled together by a barely lit fire. In between the loud thunder of the storm, the boys began to hear hissing and low croaking growls coming from the heavy shrubs in front of them. Barrie grabbed a stick and walked towards the shrubs. He jumped in the air out of fear when a rabbit darted out of the bushes. They all started to laugh, but that was cut short when a spear had pierced through Barrie's chest. The wielder of the spear was a vicious looking creature. It stood upright like a halfling, but was covered in scales and had a reptilian like tail. Loman and Bran wanted to run, but they could not snap Durk out of his paralyzed state. They stopped trying when a spear sailed through the air and plunged through Durk's throat. Loman and Bran darted into the forest. Loman heard a "thump" from behind. He dared to look back and found Bran ensnared by a net and was being pulled toward another lizard like humanoid.

Loman kept on running until day finally broke. He tripped and fell near a small creek. Cursing himself for leaving his friend behind, he began to weep. He began to hear crackling twigs come from behind him. Probably one of those monsters had tracked him down to finish the job he thought. He was surprised to hear a strong, but gentle voice ask if he was alright.

A hunter named Theon had rescued Loman. He also offered him a place to stay which Loman humbly accepted. Seven year later Loman was making his self known through out the town for solving problems that involved being in small places. It was mostly exterminating pest, but he was good at patching leaks in the attics of homes as well. Theon would notice that every once in a while Loman would go out at night and swing at a tree with a stick that he held like a sword. Theon walked up to him one night to ask why he was clubbing a tree. Loman's dead friends flashed through his mind when this question was asked and he replied "I'm practicing." Theon nodded and then said "I can help you with that."

Let me know if this works, tried to keep a some similarities:

Loman was 10 years old when the tragedy happened. He was young and very rebellious. He was taken in by a woodsman after his parents were found dead in the nearby forest. No one else would have him, for his parents had different beliefs than all in town and so were shunned by the townsfolk.

Forced to live on the outskirts of town the family kept mostly to themselves. Loman was always in awe of his father’s strength. Above the mantle there always stood a giant sword. Whenever he would ask his father about the blade he would only tell him it was a reminder of his past and what he left behind for mom and him. One special day his mother made plans for them to go on a family picnic. While enjoying their meal in the country side his father suddenly got very serious. He knew they were being watched. Then out of nowhere it seemed three scaly lizard like humanoid appeared baring teeth and weapons at them. His father looked quickly at his wife and child and told them to run. My mother grabbed my hand and we ran into the forest. After a long run and out of breath we came to a stop. Seeing that I could go no further she told me to hide in some shrubbery, and not to come out until she returned. With a kiss on the forehead and tears in her eyes she turned back the very way they had run from. Loman waited there for hours, into the night. Frightened of every noise he heard was finally spooked from his hiding spot and ran. Loman kept on running until day finally broke, until he tripped and fell near a small creek. Cursing himself for leaving his parents behind, he began to weep. He began to hear crackling twigs come from behind him. Probably one of those monsters had tracked him down to finish the job he thought. He was surprised to hear a strong, but gentle voice ask if he was alright.

A Druid named Theon had rescued Loman. He also offered him a place to stay which Loman humbly accepted. Theon would notice that every once in a while Loman would go out at night and swing at a tree with a stick that he held like a sword. Theon walked up to him one night to ask why he was clubbing a tree. Loman's mother’s tears and his father’s back as they ran flashed through his mind when this question was asked and he replied "I'm practicing." Theon nodded and then said "I can help you with that." For two years Loman stayed with the woodsman. He taught him of nature and of the sword. Tough the town pitied the child for his loss; he was still treated with disregard most of the time. He spent most of his free time wandering about, when he wasn’t running errands and being instructed by Theon. Still only a child of twelve he retains a bit of his rebellious nature. In the short time he made few, but good friends in this time (insert meeting/knowing the others here, could have known before the incident, but probably not any close relationships).
