Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Though he had heard Anahita's melodious voice, Ehos was feeling decidedly despondant, and didn't decide to interrupt the rest of her evening. He had imposed on her all day after all.

She thought for a while, "I love to paint and dance." She scratched the spot again, "Also some armor may help, something light, but durable, something that won't hinder my casting," she seemed to be thinking aloud now.

"We have to add History of Agarhta since you're new to the world. It'll help you learn more about our world. It's quite amazing, to be honest. We also have classes like Alchemy, Botany, Care for Magical Creatures, Meditation, etc."

"Ah, pardon me, Skeets, what do you need? I nearly forgot about you."

"Ever try playing Clocks? If so I think that might be a good song in the light of the moon." If Tybalt can play the song. Dom casts a spell creating a drums set beside the piano. Setting the decanter down he says. "Rivers graces." A fountain of water springs forth from the object spraying in to the air twinkling as the light hits it. Dom slips his guitar around and starts a few movements guiding the water up in to the air dropping behind the drums and piano like a small waterfall. Before the water hits the ground it dispersers into the air creating a cooling mist that skarklers from the moonlight. "If anyone wants to join us in the song your welcome too. The drums are ready to go, any other instrument is up to you." He calls out to the crowd.

Clocks

During the song Dom bends the waterfall to swirl around the group and the twist into the air before rejoining the waterfall at the top.

Tybalt freezes small birds made out of water that fly around the stage tracing patterns in the air. At one point he stands and continues to play using mage hand. he loves clocks and coldplay in general.

It's as if the pair was the only thing left in the world, and the stars are beginning to come out behind the light of the aurora. "I love you, Fei." Vai whispers, unsure if Fei will even heard her above the wind, and perahps a little thankful for it. It was a difficult thing to say, for some reason.

Let us see what the Dice Gods decree...

Fei stares off into the sky for a long moment, not entirely sure of what he heard due to the winds at their altitude. Taking a risk (in more than one way), he leans forward as far as the saddle/harness will allow him, and places his arms across Vai's shoulders. It was the closest thing to a hug he could manage at the moment.

"I love you too, Vai."

He raised an eyebrow. "Crude?" he asked, amused. "Oh, no, not at all. I'm sure you'll understand better once you have a chance to interact with some of the technology here. I'm sure Raelle can help you with that. She's quite gifted when it comes to that stuff."

"Only if you can actually find him," she muttered.

"Oh! Ardiente, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you...it's kind of a long story. And no, I didn't find your additions to the pyrotechnics rude. I have to spend a lot of concentration and energy on the songs themselves....I can only do pretty basic stuff with the light show. Actually if you want, you can drop in on the next rehearsal....maybe try working some things in on purpose next time," she said, quickly.

"Oh, and this is my husband, James. Jiminy, this is Ardiente....a friend of Raelle's. the guy with the wings is her date...you know, the one Vai told you about and you told me earlier." She smiled. It was obvious that she'd intended that aside to be overheard.

Ardiente's jaw drops open for a second. Fieri had actually invited him to help them with pyrotechnics! He couldn't believe it! He wasn't sure who the firebird with the rose was, but Ardiente noted that his presence wasn't exactly welcome. "Mr. Sunwake," he bows to Jiminy, using the name the other firebird had used. He still wasn't confident about making complex sentences around FAIN's lead singer. He had to try at some point. "I would like very much if I could come to your next rehersal I do enjoy putting my talents to use to make beautiful displays." he finally says, talking way too quickly.

"I look forward to it then. Tomorrow night, basement. We use a private room. The big space is gonna be full of bands holding auditions. You can use the wall arrows to find our practice space," she said, trying not to actually laugh at his nervousness.

Tyrrin smiles warmly at her lycanthrope friend. She puts a hand on Jaiye's shoulder. "I hope you didn't waste my gesture by sitting out here for the entirety of my detention? And I trust my brother apologized for his behavior?" Tyrrin is very nonchalant as the pair begin to walk back to the observatory. "Also? You have nothing to apologize for, least of all to me. I do not quite understand why you got so territorial, but you were able to get yourself under control as well. And you apologized." Tyrrin was doing her best to cheer Jaiye up. She definitely didn't want Jaiye feeling responsible for her choice to be sent to detention. "You've done very well, I think, to get your instincts under control."

"He apologized. In the most demoralizing way possible. ....your brother is kinda bad at dealing with girls, isn't he?"

"I'm really not sure why I got like that either. Something about that girl just got to me. I guess I still have some work to do with control. But I guess last year I'd have been the one in detention for trying to rip her throat out...Thanks. For helping me so much with that. I would never have made it as far as this without you."

Vai's heart flutters as she feels Fei's powerful arms on her shoulders, and he speaks. She was sure he hadn't heard her, because of the pause. His words make her lose the steady beating of her wings, but she's a practiced enough flyer that her wings instinctively stay open. The pair begin to lose altitude, but not at a rate that would cause any alarm. She wishes that she could turn around and nuzzle him right now, but she couldn't bend her neck that way. She settles on lifting her front claw up behind her back, placing his gentle on Fei's back. Returning his hug as much as she can.

We can fade to black here, if you'd prefer Fei. Of course, either way works for me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It had taken weeks to finally track down Taron - he had been using his powers to damnably good effect to keep himself and Kam 'off the radar' and several steps ahead of the Imperial manhunt that had started after the assassination attempt on Emperor Mezzenbone. When Tamrin finally caught up with them, they had been hiding in plain sight aboard a luxury space liner touring the Qesemet star systems.

Since any and all small-scale space travel and communications were being monitored heavily, the three of them had to lay low for several more weeks until things would (hopefully) die down enough so they could make the return trip to Agartha. The news feeds were all reporting that a botched attempt on one of the Emperor's many 'official impersonators' had occurred, and that those responsible were being tracked down despite never even getting close to their intended target.

And then the hammer came down.

Encrypted intel started to come in to Tamrin from Fivain - there had been simultaneous strikes on several Resistance safehouses across the galaxy. People start disappearing off the streets in numbers unheard of as the IPSD is unleashed to root out any signs of dissidence. A massive propaganda campaign floods every available media outlet across the Empire - the Resistance is being blamed for every atrocity that the IPSD commits. Whatever cannot be pinned on them is passed off as 'necessary, authoritative measures to reign in the nihilistic insurgents trying to disrupt the Dragon Empire and its lawful citizenry.' No matter how the vidcasts phrased it, though, it was still martial law. Mezzenbone still had the Empire firmly in his clawed grasp...and he was beginning to squeeze.

Holdfast...
Aumbry...
Kalban...
Danteven...
In every star system the same stories filtered out. Sentients vanishing. Families turning their own in to curry favor (or avoid suspicion). Entire neighborhoods razed by 'rebel terrorists'. Actual Resistance members being flushed out and subjected to untold torments that made death a welcome release. And the worst thing? The Empire's propaganda machine had a kernel of truth to its lies - part of this was to blame on the Resistance. And there was precious little they could do about it now, as many of their connections and lifelines went silent in order to save their own skins.

Tamrin's initial plan of showing his sons that what they did was not a joke went sideways very quickly as their liner was stopped by an IPSD fleet patrol for a 'random cargo inspection'. They barely escaped before they were discovered. Many others did not....

A powerful teleport effect suddenly manifests outside the family cottage as the three itinerant Sunwakes stumble out onto the grass, their portable Starcasters cycling down with an audible 'thrum' from the effort of crossing so much distance (and Agartha's wards).

Tamrin looks around quickly, then yanks open the door to the kitchen and shoves the other two inside and down into chairs at the table. He then activates his datapad bracer and sends a communication to Aananda, Ryleh, Ryo, Ephebe and James.

"Come to the Cottage. NOW."

While (hopefully) glad to hear Tamrin's voice after so long, his family members will note there is a very hard edge to it, one very rarely (if ever) heard by any of them.

Ardiente can't help but glance at Sorchan after Fieri's last sentence, though his attention seemed to be focused on his young daughter's suitor.

Not sure how Fieri/Jiminy are receiving Tam's communication, but she's probably gonna be leaving shortly. If it's audible, it's interrupting Ardiente right before he speaks, and he respects the fact that Fieri has to go.

Tyrrin felt a little sad that that was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to Jaiye. She was such a caring girl, underneath everything else. Tyrrin wondered if she would ever be able to fight against a lycanthrope again. But now they were in the observatory again. (Is Wyrd still blocking the door? I hope not.)

"Well, let's just test it then, shall we?" Tyrrin went over to the controls, enabling the large screen in the room. She pointed it at a nebula cluster she had seen through her smaller prototypes. A very beautiful cluster. She sets the scrying and optical sensors so that they work together, and then flips the switch.

What appears on-screen.

"One Professor Ryleh will be teaching you. She's-" The Headmaster stops mid-sentence as Tamrin's message comes in through his metallic arm. "Excuse me, something extremely important and unexpected has just occured. Kiara, a room has been prepared for you, and you'll find your completed schedule and a map of the school there shortly. Touch the wall and think of your destination and arrows will appear to show you the way. Welcome to Avalon."

He disappears from his office only to reappear in his home across from Tamrin.

"What's wrong?" He asks, completely ignoring Taron and Kamenwati. He'd get to them later.

>> Well, this is .. different. <<

Anahita tried to remember how the other doors would open, previously, but to be honest, she'd be more fascinated and amazed at the glowing arrows and blinking lights, to see the subtlety of 'door handles' in this school.

Standing there for a few moments, she stared at the keypad to the door which the arrows had lead her too. Vaguely, she recalled most of the doors she had seen in passing, and the one that they stood at previously to the Professor's office, or .. place, opened without any effort.

Glancing around the hallway, while most of the people were busy attending to the after-events or sorting their remaining evening out, it appeared, for the most part, she was alone in this particular area.

Tentatively reaching out, she tapped at the keypad, once and then stood there as the door opened silently. The interior of the room illuminating while all she did was peer inside.

After a moment, however, she stepped in. A quick turn to witness the door shutting behind her as well.

She arrived in the kitchen just as James and Fieri also teleported in.

Aananda was torn between joy and terror. She knew that tone. She hadn't heard it in years. She'd hoped never to hear it again...that there would never be need.

She increased the security on the incubation room. If they were all going to be together, the eggs would be unguarded. She wasn't about to take chances with their safety. Then she headed for the kitchen at a dead run.
