Doppelgängers have detect thoughts constant.

Seeing as Ace might not reply in a while, where are you getting your references for Doppelgangers from?

Because, my reference:

Paizo Doppelganger

Suggests it's at will, still requires at least 3 rounds to 'study' and it's cone shaped-- plus, unless Ace isn't really reading or aware of who is where, about half of those 'Champions' listed, aren't at the Crater, or left earlier.

Then again, as always, 'rules light', right? Ace is effectively 'reading thoughts' of people some 2 miles away in the school? That's hellah impressive, especially without a Saving Throw.

So I appreciate your replying on Ace's behalf, Icehawk, but that really doesn't help too much.

I'm sorry and I know it's bad, but when I read Ace's posts I can't help it, but I see and hear him as Willam Shatners James T Kerk, I think "Dramatic effect" is a constant for Ace as well.

He is using a "greater doppelgänger" don't know exactly where that is from, but it can basically polymorph at will, cannot be forced to tell the truth (not so sure about that one), and is immune to everything mind effecting. I think his mind reading is better too.

I just found out our truck broke down. Now-
If not fixed by tomarrow,
I can't go to school at a normal time, instead like 6:00 in the morning
I have to wait until 4:00 to leave school.
We have no money, (and no job) so we can only fix it with the stuff we already have.

There are also other people who use it.
Lim-Môr is the only one it applies to though.
Others with Int that high can't be read.

36 int? I was told the limit was 30, that's a wee bit high for game balance, +14 yikes, do champions then get higher stats then.

Ace is completely overwhelmed due to all the raw emotion present at the crater scene, as well as the presence of several Champions, along with Genosuke who just by his very power level contributed.

Ace's Detect Thoughts has never been a constant or even controlled effect. Instead, I've gotten Lyn's approval for it to be more a plot device/RP element, almost like a premonition. Right now, its been utterly overloaded and in a super charged mode.

At FCD, yea, its supposed to be all the champions, as it seemed a fitting group for him to be bombarded by. I just could only remember those I listed. At first, I was only going to have it be Fei and Vai, as they were right there, but that seemed far too few. All the Champs however? That's definitely enough.

Champions shouldn't get better stats, and don't.
30 isn't the limit, per say. Anything below 30 usually isn't questioned.

Oh, we want to avoid reliance on items for stats. Messes up the game.

What is stated is that "stats below 30 typically aren't questioned." However, if you ask me, most stats that approach 30 make the Charecter too perfect.

I think it's already been established in game that getting into Tarka's head isn't a good idea, intentional or not.

Dunno that I like that, mechanicly. In most game systems, having an immunity to mind effecting things also means you cant learn to develop mind efecting things. Oversight? Perhaps.

And no, it's not the same thing as breathing fire and being immune to fire. Not even close to being on the same scale.

Ok, now that you were nice enough to explain as opposed to just flat out telling me to make a random, unknown Will save, I will completely agree Ace should not be immune.

Much like the capstone of a Winter Oracle, or the power of deity can overcome immunities, I would say that Tarka's mind would override Ace's immunity.

What's the DC?

The exact effect of readein her mind was never made, but the effects for using "know Alinment" on her was, and that was nohign more then a dc 20 will vs 1 round of confusion. Maybe it should be more harsh, and you can make it more harsh if you want, i don't even care anymore.

1 round of confusion could be... interesting, given that Ace is right next to Vai and Fei. >_>
