Alrighty folks!
Not to be confused with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, I'd figured being that we have a very eclectic team, it might be neat to nickname yall after Marvel's legendary group of misfits!
For our newcomer, Celeste C, this is where we'll be conducting all of our OOC chat. Feel free to talk about whatever interests you about this adventure, such as NPC's, town info, etc. I'd like to entertain the thought that yall might be interested in each other's characters.
Since the adventure doesn't begin until Tuesday May 6th, this should give everyone the downtime they need to do any last minute changes to their characters.
With that being said, I look forward to playing with you all!

Oops, I forgot to add the background/appearance portion to my alias. Had it in another doc. It's updated now!
Build note: while we have a chance to update our characters, I should point out a weird part of this archetype. Instead of the Aura of Courage, I get this:
Shared Precision
At 3rd level, when a divine hunter hits a creature with a ranged attack, she grants her allies within 10 feet of her the benefit of the Precise Shot feat against that target until the start of her next turn. Her allies must remain within 10 feet of her, and must be able both to see and hear the divine hunter to gain this benefit.
It seems strange, since it benefits ranged attackers; but the benefit is to shoot into melee? So what I'm saying is, I can make us a little better at close-range non-melee combat. So bring a sling or something--they're free!

Speaking of downtime, how much will there be in this adventure? If there won't be much of chance to use Craft Magic Arms and Armor, I'd like to switch it out for something else.
Unfortunately, there won't be much downtime. If the adventure goes as planned, yall will be embarking one stop after another.
I'd recommend putting that feat into something else.

If it was me, I'd pick up a few melee weapons that can be thrown. The bonus is for a ranged attack, so any ranged wepon will do. You can still use your sling at longer ranges, but at close range if you are not within melee reach of any opponents, you can throw and give us the bonus and if you were, you could defend myself until you can back away.
As it happens, Halflings get a bonus to hit with thrown weapons. It's probably not needed, but you never know.

Just checked the roster, we have:
Dwarf Fighter (Melee based)
scrollmaster/Kensai (Melee based)
Ninja (melee based but has bow)
Magus (Melee based)
Halfling Paladin (Ranged)
Elf Oracle (ranged: has no melee weapon)
So, only 2 or 3 people are likely to use Shared Precision.

I'm curious now to see how Qin'e interacts with the others. Her world view is more naive, if intelligently so. I doubt she'd bash doors, so we should be fine there. XD
Bashing doors? How quaint! surely finesse and subtlety demands that we open them stealthily? then we can bash the people inside instead (only joking).

Well, I just wanted to let people know it was there. It's unlikely to be have a huge impact, but I've also played a paladin in PFS from 1 to 6 without having the benefits of Aura of Courage (which it replaces) come into play either.
I'm just asking we be nice to portals, as a follower of the goddess of doors. :P

"Ah, but surely it is not the door but the doorway that is important? The sense of something beyond; the transition from one side to the other. While such moments should indeed be approached with reverence, the door by itself merely represents a barrier that has to be overcome to transition the threshold, yes? as such, the manner of overcoming is less important than the act of transition itself. Or so I am told."

A barrier, yes, but often it is just as important as an obstacle to be overcome as it is a necessary blockage. Without the door, there is no doorway, the transition loses its markers, which although arbitrary create meaning.
But, you know, mostly we don't want to cause a lot of unnecessary collateral damage. Vandalism isn't cool!

Alrighty folks, I've added a few things to the game.
New Player: Unfortunately, Celeste_C couldn't continue with us, so Tanner Nielson's: Victoria Whitesmith, shall take her place. Please give a warm welcome to our newest addition!
Map: For convenience, I've uploaded a simple map of Cassomir within the campaign's header. Rather than have all the locations listed as a “go here, go there” quest, I'll add points of interest as we encounter them.
Quests: Speaking of quests...the main plot of Tears at Bitter Manor has yall trying to uncover what happened to the missing members of the Golden Watch, and who's behind it but there's a plethora of side jobs that'll come up as the adventure proceeds.
Campaign Info: I've listed several of the NPC's and notable things of the adventure within the campaign's full description.
I hope yall are excited because this is quite the adventure!

EXPLANATION OF COMBAT
As mentioned within the recruitment thread, combat is going to handled differently. We'll be using a theatrical approach, meaning that instead of grid based movements, locations and distances will be hand waived. Players would state their relative locations and positioning -
Doing my best to avoid the Ogre's vile spear, I find a space to flank and attack my opponent!
A clear picture will be provided in those instances where speed/location/spacing are relevant.
Panros hefts his crossbow high, not trusting the larger room to be safe. Making his way up the northern passage, it quickly grows wider and its height vaults up, until it is nearly a dozen feet high within the chamber. A small firepit lay on the other side of a trench in the middle of the room, its fires dancing. A few hunks of indeterminate meat suggest recent use. Three rock ledge jut outward from the walls, on the north, south, and western sides.
The trench looks rather deep - perhaps ten or twenty feet deep, and a single natural bridge extends across its midsection. As Panros took another step forward, he froze. There was a scratching noise - slight, but definitely there - coming from the eastern of the rock platforms. No kobold was visible, but keen dwarven senses told him that something was there.
There - another noise. This time from the western platform.
And that uneasy feeling of being watched.
No visible targets, but you're pretty sure something's here. Proceed y/n?
And when it comes to a giant cluster#Q@#, I'll provide a map.

KNOWLEDGE CHECKS
Thanks to a friend's suggestion, I'm rocking knowledge checks a bit differently to make things interesting.
Rather than post a wall of text every time someone rolls, I'm going to do this.
If your check beats the Monster's CR, you get 1 Question for every 5 you beat it by.
Ex: Malachai gets a 19 on a Knowledge Religion check to identify the Undead he's fighting. Since the Creature is a CR 2, he gets +3 Questions
1. What am I fighting? <Draugyr>
2. Does it have any special properties? <It's an aquatic based undead with minor fire resistance, who's attacks cause nausua, and can hold their own in a fight.>
3. Are they common to dungeons? <No, they're most likely found within aquatic wrecks.>
Having tested this in a previous game, I've learned that my players enjoyed having control over what they learn from a knowledge check.
Should anyone object, please let me know.

Alrighty folks, after waiting 4 days for a response, I feel it's safe to say that this game is officially dead. I'm sorry that it had to come to this, perhaps we'll be able to play with each other again another time.
I want to thank everyone for participating and making such awesome characters. I wish you all the best of luck on your future games.
Play on!
