Davin Shadowcloak |

"We do not know how the city fares. We were dropped by an earthquake here, saved only by the dragon's grace. I fear there may be no city left when we return. If anyone remains, we will happily deliver the message." Davin says.

Allyo Shan |

Impressed with the story being told by the chief, Allyo bows again.
Your generosity honors us! The true Gods shall enlighten our path and fill our hearts with hope that there's something yet to be saved in Kenabres.
That said, the paladin gestures peacefully.
If we could dare to trouble you, however, any help for us to reach the surface would be greatly appreciated. Our mission is imperative and our time is short.

Chief Sull 0172 |

"Yes, I can direct you to the way back up. Unfortunately the way is through a village of others like us, but who have given themselves over to the demons. The men you spoke of have been working with them and in recent weeks have especially active. I guess now we know why." Chief Sull responds.
"You are welcome to rest here as long as needed. There are merchants here who will be more than happy to exchange goods with you."

Sabrina stay by Davin's side, she has sworn to protect him in payment for the help he gave her when she was all but lost.
sensing that there is some amount of trust in Davin of these people, Sabrina remains calm and trusts these mongrelmen.
As the group rests, Sabrina tends to the "civilians" that they seem to have been charged with.
She goes to calm Horgus Sir, whether you like it or not, I am afraid, we are at war. But I can promise you this, I have vowed to get you to safety, and that is what I intend to do.

Davin Shadowcloak |

Davin will make his way to the beds provided and turn in early. Not meaning disrespect to the men's hospitality, but Davin is eager to move on back to the surface.

Before leaving, Sabrina pulls Allyo aside, You still have that copper brooch we found? I would like to see it.
assuring hi she does not intend to sell it right now.

![]() |

Sabrina takes the brooch and shows it to Lann, Does this look familiar? we found it in a campsite before we met you.

![]() |

Sabrina agrees with Lann, very well, lets go and see the chief then. it may be important.
Sabrina will accompany Lann to the Chief.
was hoping to hear from others on this.

Chief Sull 0172 |

You arrive at his residence again and are given audience right away.
"How are your preparations going? Is there something I can help you with?"
Chief Sull, seeing the brooch, his one good eye gets a bit misty.
"Where did you find it? It belongs to my son. We had an argument and he left a few weeks ago. It is his."

![]() |

We found it at a campsite back in the caverns. the place was infested with giant insects. only a few items remained. we did not find and body so there is hope that he is alive.
Sabrina tries to be comforting as she can, but she is also part soldier, and comforting was not always her strong suit.
you should keep that, with some luck, your son may be in the other village.

JasonX |

You get a good rest and, despite Horgus's nagging, prepare to leave. Lann accompanies you part way as a guide and prepares you for the first area. From the hamlet of Neathholm, the tunnel winds mostly in a southeast direction for about 2,000 feet. The tunnel narrows down at this point to a 5-foot-wide passageway, the walls carved with picks and chisels. You are now very close to the entrance to the traitors’ den. Lann informs you that the narrow passage will open into a guardpost. Barricades made of heaped loose rocks and wooden boards bisect this cavern. Beyond the barricades, a wooden screen covers the lower half of a tunnel mouth.

Sabrina nods as the weapon is given to her.
Though it is not her preferred weapon, she does indicate that she will do her best to honor the agreement.
Sabrina call for a stop. gathering the group before proceeding.
in a hushed tone she offers her suggestions, Davin, You should scout ahead. try to identify any weak spots and potential hidden threats.
Shinari, I recommend you protect the civilians, and provide your skills as reserve, your healing skills may prove to be invaluable.
allyo, and Darros, you would do best joining me in the main assault team.
Allyo, you will have to remove the Oath against fiends, I had to eliminate it from my character before we started

Allyo Shan |

@GM: No problem, JasonX! I will adjust however you prefer, my friend. :) I don't mind at all. We actually still need to talk the details, as I'd like to double-check the sheet just to guarantee it has everything in place.
@Sabrina: Thanks for the diligence studying my sheet, but please don't worry about my character - eventually I'll be reviewing it entirely with JasonX. Please stick with your character.
Allyo shakes his head in agreement, considering the other paladin's approach as the most adequate.
Considering a good chance to confuse his enemies and strengthen himself, he his magic scale and Alter Self to look like someone from Chief Sull's tribe.

actually I was checking everyone to formulate battle plans. I wanted to be sure to concentrate on each or our strengths.

Davin Shadowcloak |

Davin draws his cloak up with a simple, "No problem Sabrine,", as he happily slips away from the discussion into the darkness ahead, one again using his light coin as a mock hooded lantern.
Stealth Check1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Davin Shadowcloak |

Davin returns from his scouting mission to where the others have stopped. "I got as far as the cavern and found 5 men standing guard. Since Chief Sull didn't mention anything about guards this way, we may be in for a spot of trouble. We still have a numbers advantage if it comes to it."

Davin Shadowcloak |

With a wirey grin, "That's good, because I don't like the idea of sneaking up on 5 to 1 odds much either. " Growing a bit serious before continuing, "I don't know that they're enemies. I didn't see those little bull idols or anything. But they were definitely standing guard."

Allyo Shan |

You have a most valid point.
Allyo looks forward, hearing with attention to the useful information Davin gathered.
We shall travel as a group. Iomedae shall show us the path. However, as fast as we move, let's consider they might not be our enemies, as our friend Halfling pointed. If they are, we will be ready.
He points his longsword and starts moving, confidently.

Davin Shadowcloak |

"I agree, they likely are, but I'll remind you we know very little of their society. Chief Sull may have no knowledge or control over troop deployment. I for one would hate to kill Chief Sull's men by mistake, based solely on the fact that he was unaware they were stationed here today." Davin speaks the warning as he slips a potion from his bandoleer and drinks it down. He clearly is preparing for battle, but gives the warning anyways.

Sabrina ponders the choices laid before her.
I never intended for Davin to engage anyone alone. he was to scout out their numbers, look for possibilities of reinforcements. Now,
she gets down on one knee and draws out the battleground as was described by Davin.
She then indicates the probable locations. suggestion for attack plans?
I am not sure on the exact layout so I would assume she was able to draw out some basic layout. maybe a rough map will be helpful here.

Davin Shadowcloak |

You were told this was the guarded entrance to the other tribe....
Got it, I was thinking this was a different tunnel. I understand now.
Davin will lead the others through the pathway, stopping near where the cavern entrance, but far enough back they are still hidden. He will cast another abjuration with a hushed word.
