Davin holds the scale and looks at its gleaming silver, "This was, one of her scales wasn't it, Terendelve's?" His face contorts into a frown as he holds the scale, once again in death the dragon was helping them. "Thank you, for this. It is very kind, and helpful."

During their resting time, Davin is going to attempt to place the scale as the clasp of his cloak, wearing it with pride as a chosen of Terendelve. He keeps quiet and stays close to Sabrina, but makes sure to give her the space she is needing.


The passageway leading south from here continues for about 3,000 feet (at a speed of 15 feet, this takes about 40 minutes to navigate) before ending here after a gradual rise in elevation of 30 feet in another cavern. Stone figures are carved into the walls of this cavern. Each depicts a different crusader clad in armor and wielding weapons, but their carved stone features contain expressions of sadness.

Allyo stops at the entrance of the cave and starts Detecting Evil. He turns his head towards the entire room, trying to use the 60-feet cone emanation to capture as much as possible, using multiple rounds if needed.

These statues disturb me... Such sadness!


As you enter the cave and begin to look at the statues, Allyo begins scanning for evil (and detects nothing in the first round). Just as Aravashnial is about to speak, three dark shapes drop from the ceiling.

Davin:
You know that this squid-like dark-skinned creature is a darkmantle, a subterranian predator that attacks by dropping onto its prey. This result reveals all magical beast traits.

Though small creatures, darkmantles are strong for their size, and make natural grapplers due to their tentacles and cloak-like skin. Typically attacking by dropping from above, a darkmantle that misses will usually fly back up to the roof of its chamber and try again.

Allyo moves and tries to position himself in such way that Argus and Horgus are within 30ft of him, but none of the darkmantles (especially not the fallen one). There, he puts his hands to the air, praying and holding his silver holy symbol, then channel.

"As good as that plan is, I think I'd like one of us up there with them." Davin scampers behind Darros using him as a shield. Davin's mismatched eyes rise to meet Sabrina's as clasps his dragon scale on his cloak clasp concentration on the magic contained within.

can we assume the prone guys are close to the ones standing? For protection... The fly bys won't provoke from the targets, but they'd provoke from nearby melee characters


I'm assuming everyone is sort of clustered together except Davin and Sabrina (who is in the air).


Shinari prepares an attack as well.

Just need Sabrina, she can attack one on the ceiling as she is levitated to it, but remember you have a -1 to attack because of levitate.


Jason, I am not raging yet, forgot that I won't have a readied attack, so I don't want to waist a round of my limited rage.

The hulking minotaur huffing and snorting in anger only steps away from Davin is unnerving, but not nearly as unnerving as how close the creatures attack came to him. Davin draws his arcane power in, concentrating it into a ray as cold as he can make it and launches it at the creature.

Millorn’s spellbook contains blu, levitate, magic missile, mage armor, color spray, detect secret doors, fog cloud, grease, invisibility, resist energy, shocking grasp, and silent image.

On his person he carries: two potions, two scrolls, a light crossbow with 20 bolts, 10 platinum pieces and 11 gold pieces. His cloak detects as magical as well.

Darros splits the darkmantle near Davin in two. Dark ichor flies everywhere, coating Davin and Darros (a little overkill there Darros, don't ya' think?). The other, already wounded, darkmantle has no chance as it is surrounded by Allyo, Argus and Shinari.

After a bit, Aravashnial once again speaks up.


"Can you describe the statues to me?"
He listens intently as you describe the statues.
"There is an old legend that after the First Crusade a group of crusaders who had become infected with Abyssal energies fled into these caverns to raise their deformed children in peace, and that their descendants live on today in the tunnels below the city. The presence of these statues here gives significant credence to that tale."

He searches around a little bit, to check if they didn't miss anything in the room.

After a while, Allyo points to the way forward, to the other people in the party.

Assuming Davin knows how to bring her down... - he laughed friendly at Sabrina and Davin - ... Then we probably should push and keep moving.

The paladin assumes his position back in the marching order. His expression is resolute. He thinks, for a moment, in Desna, Iomedae and the bless received from Torag. Surrounded by the statues of the warped members of the first Crusade, he feels his mission might be more sacred than ever.

Davin's grin is mischievous as he looks up at Sabrina, "Now why would I do that? Isn't the whole point of that paladin oath thing to help you get closer to your goddess? I'm just doing my part to get you up there." He lets her linger for just a few seconds more before he concentrates on gently returning her to the ground ensuring she has a solid footing before dismissing the spell.

Seeing the others checking the room, Davin will set out to do the same.

Davin grows serious again looking to the passageway. Yeah, I'm easily the smallest so if it gets much more narrow I can keep pushing past where you guys can't. We're doomed if this caves in, I haven't seen even one other offshoot from here. Hopefully these first crusaders maintain their tunnels well, and don't trap them."


You go a very short distance and it opens into a cavern. A small campfire and a well-used bedroll, along with a few utensils and tools, sits near another cave opening in the far wall of this cavern. Standing in front of the campsite is a bedraggled dwarf. His eyes widen as he sees Davin enter the cave.

"You! You shall not take me! I will not be imprisoned!" He shouts at you, spittle flying from his lips. With that he charges at you.

I'll be behind them - I kinda need to be behind the front and in the middle of the party to better combat heal. We just need to make sure we keep someone in the flank of the line to protect the npc's

He is beyond reason.
Davin charges forward and plunges his blade into the dwarfs shoulder. Ignoring him and taking advantage of the surprise, the dwarf moves up to Darros, spreads his hands and scintillating colors engulf the people in the front rank (Davin, you get an AoO).
