It was a fine episode of GoT for sure... now I'm rather cross that the next 2 seasons are reportedly going to be 'mini-seasons' rather than the full ten each... we want more! we want more!

Hey, Rallos, check out this armor enchantment!:
A suit of locksmith armor does not apply its armor check
penalty to its wearer’s Disable Device checks. At will, the
wearer of locksmith armor can extend from her fingertips
small, delicate wires that function as masterwork thieves’
tools. There is no evidence of the existence of these tools
when they’re not in use, and a PC attempting a Spellcraft
check to identify the properties of locksmith armor must
exceed the normal DC by 15 or this property is not revealed
(though the other functions of the armor are identified
normally). Additionally, locksmith armor allows the wearer to
transfer some or all of the armor’s enhancement bonus to the
wearer’s Disable Device checks as an enhancement bonus. As
a free action, the wearer chooses how to allocate the armor’s
enhancement bonus at the start of his turn, and the reduction
to the armor’s enhancement bonus and the bonus on Disable
Device checks last until his next turn. The locksmith special
ability can be applied only to light armor.

    Quick update for accuracy - Yasmin only has 2 hero points. She had just 1 point at the end of the serpentfolk lair, and gains a second point by leveling up. I think you missed docking me a point that Yasmin used to bolster a spell resistance check against Uzar-Kus.

    How do you feel about the fractional BAB and Save bonuses as presented in the Unchained book?

    The BAB wouldn't affect me because Barb and Fighter are both full BAB classes, but I would be able to squeeze out at least one more point of Reflex save if this optional system is okay with you.

    ...also, stellar work folks, you did just enough of the right things there... if Yasmin hadn't entangled the Giant, it wouldn't have been made more clumsy... if Murassa hadn't stomped, the Hill Giant wouldn't be prone... and if it wasn't prone, then not all of those attacks would have hit... and the zombie giant would have had another go at flattening Grayface!!!

  • Ea, I still don't think you're adding up your attack rolls fully. Remember that your weapon is a +1 (from attunement), and undead bane (adding a further +2 against undead, making it effectively +3).

    That "+3" is for attack and damage both.

    You should have +5 BAB, +1 Str, +1 Enhance, +2 bane, +Misc (haste, flank, other class abilities/spells).

    It looks like your rolls were at least "+1" short of where they should be.

    Welcome to Level 9 of the Emerald Spire, ‘The Spire Axis’ by Tim Hitchcock. Tim Hitchcock is a bit of a stalwart author within Pathfinder’s history with a grand total of eight books written in the Adventure Path line (third only to Greg Vaughan and to Richard Pett) starting with book 2 of Legacy of Fire (back in 3.5 days) through to, most recently, book 3 of Giantslayer… there are two PF modules with his name on it (Broken Chains and the Ruby Phoenix Tournament) and I am sure he’s got contributions across Campaign Setting books and Player Companion books as well!!!

    Oh, just to let everybody know in case it slips my mind: as a psychic caster, I can't cast spells with the emotion component while under a fear or emotion effect, and spells with a thought component increase all concentration DCs by 10 unless I take a move action to center myself.

    Gray now has DR 1/- and DR 2/lethal (from non-lethal damage) from being a invulnerable rager level 2, so keep that in mind for the enemies' attacks that might penetrate. I'm not sure if that was taken into account with the hill giant (I mean, it would've only been 1 point from his blow) but it will matter more vs the multiple attacks from multiple enemies as the game goes on.

    It occurred to me that I never formalized the last 1000gp cost of my furious enchantment. I seem to remember that Yas and Murassa both offered to loan me the cash. Can one of you please chime in below and confirm that the loan is still okay? If so, please deduct the 1000 and consider Grayface in your debt for that amount.

    I've got my eyes on a set of mithril fullplate as my next big purchase....expensive, but so badass. It counts as medium armor so I can utilize my barbarian speed whilst wearing it. Another few points of AC = win! It is a fantasy for down the road, especially considering I'm 1k in the red, but a man can dream!

    Want to get rid of Extra Arcana, which I used to get the Pool Strike magus arcana. I don't think I've ever actually used it. Want to replace it with the Intense Spell metamagic feat.

    Having a bit of writer's block here. Not sure exactly what to post, but will have something up today.


    No dramas... it's down to me to move this along - just need to do some map-based magic before I post....


    Fascinated to see how this will play out... your friendly - not at all evil - GM is here for when you do stuff to move us along...


    Just as a little bit of clarification, the Mistress of Thorns will allow you to continue further downwards... but she will require that you bring Lady Commander Druvost to the Spire within the next two weeks (I left it quite generous with the timing so that you didn't feel any urgency to head straight back to Fort Inevitable unless you wished to do so... and also to reflect that the Mistress of Thorns is definitely playing a long game anyway). Of course, failure to get Druvost to the Spire = Deal off!

  • If I may, I would recommend that you place a "DR 1/-" up top by my HP total. In my game one of my players is a barbarian and I kept forgetting to account for his DR until I put that reminder near his HP. (I post the party's HP at the top of the page just as you do)
