Hang in there Gray!
I myself am struggling for time due to having lost my job last Monday. Luckily, I've snared an interview for this Wednesday...so wish me luck there.
Aren't the unchained classes only for Barbarian, Monk, Rogue or Summoner? I didn't think it applied to Druids.
Anyway, my level 5 feat is Natural Spell, allowing me to cast spells while in animal form. My BAB and saves are unchanged.
Skills:
Perception 14
Spellcraft 6
Survival 10
Knowledge (Nature) 6
New spells:
+2 3rd level spells: Call Lightning and Hydrophobia
+1 3rd Level Domain spell: Control Winds
HP:
1d8 ⇒ 2+1 (con) +1 (toughness)

Good luck with your interview Pertreeko, tough luck losing your job... Hang in there...
The Automatic Bonus Progression I am awarding you is across all the classes (and is there to stop me having to dole out boring +1 type Magic Items for you to keep up with the combat numbers). Please add the Armor / Weapon attunement, Saves and Deflection bonus to your character as you level...
Also, Hit Points is Half Max (rounded up)... Good news given your throw!!!

I was a recruiter of independent technicians. If a Pier 1 needed a CCTV camera installed, or if Target wanted low-voltage cabling technicians for a new Target store they were installing, I was the guy who found them.

So, when I'm not terrorising the fools who dare to explore the depths of the world with minotaurs, gibbering mouthers and terrible mud creatures, I work on safety assessment of nuclear power plants...next person to make a Homer Simpson joke gets Level Drained!!!
And, just because it's worth spreading the word, has anyone seen this Kickstarter, The Legendary Planet Adventure Path, I've pledged for it as it looks like a bag of fun and it has some great authors!!! I've also taken the opportunity to get the Mythic Books they produced... My poor bank account!!!

Ea, we kinda need to save the wand's charges for when you're out of (or nearly out of) channel heals for the day. Your channels are free but the wand is not.
Yasmin al Akbar
I think it's fine to use the wand when Ea is the only one hurt.
GM Zed
Okay you crazy kids...
Think we need to have a quick 'OoC' chat around the campfire about healing... The truth is that things are only going to get more brutal from here on in and, if I am being honest, I worry that the issues we seem to be having around healing are pretty soon going to result in someone dying... Now, don't get me wrong, death is an ever present threat - I just don't want us to be in a position where people are getting frustrated or, worse still, resenting not getting healed...and then dying...
So, couple of observations / thoughts for you... Without ever telling anyone how to play their character (please don't think I would do that!!!),
A) Ea, a while ago you indicated that your character wouldn't be doom and gloom / fate will tell the whole way through the adventure... Maybe it is time for her to start thinking about the common enemy of the 'Crowned Skull' and the use Pharasma might have for Ea's companions? Just a thought...
B) Ea should not be the sole source of healing... If the party has wands or other healing capabilities, it may be best to distribute those around...
Lecture over - thoughts?

Ea, we kinda need to save the wand's charges for when you're out of (or nearly out of) channel heals for the day. Your channels are free but the wand is not.
Feel free to disagree with me here, but what I was trying to convey is my reluctance to use the wand when our best healer (Ea) is still essentially full on spells and channel-heals for the day, because the wand is quite expensive -- as opposed to the free usage of daily powers. It seems more logical to me to use spells/channels to heal up as opposed to the wand as a first choice.
If we were more flush with cash then I probably wouldn't be so hesitant, but thus far we aren't exactly lousy with extra coin to spend on more healing wands. For the record, that is not a complaint about our financial situation. It is merely an observation based on the topic.
How do you all feel about it?
Ea Zalinsel
Well, I'm always keeping an eye on everyone's health now, as Grayface asked a while ago.
And Ea tries to be less gloomy. I even made a joke! ^^
I try to work with the others, to help everyone with my spells. I don't understand what you mean in your first point. No offense taken, I'm just not sure about what you mean.

Since we've been invited to speak about this, here are my thoughts.
Our wealth problems have been greatly aided by the use of automatic level bonuses. We all effectively gained a +1 weapon, a +1 cloak of resistance, and a +1 ring of protection. (Admittedly, Yasmin doesn't care about the +1 weapon much, but maybe she should just remember to take AOOs with her longspear.) So I feel much less need to scratch for every bit of coin.
My general view is that when two or more party members are injured, it makes sense to use channeling rounds to heal the group. Certainly, with three or more injured, channeling is extremely efficient and I would consider it wasteful not to do so.
If a single party member is injured, then the options are to use spells or use the wand. My own view is that there are good arguments for using one or the other depending on the situation. I play a lot of clerics, and my general strategy is to use the wand when I expect the adventuring day to continue for a while, and to convert situational spells to healing when the day is winding down and my spell slots remain unused. This is a judgment call which I feel uncomfortable making for anyone else. I think the important point is that it's not entirely fair to Ea to force her to use her spells for healing only, as being relegated to the status of healbot is no fun.
From my gameplay post, I obviously favor giving the wand to Ea and letting her heal herself with the wand, if she wants.
Ea Zalinsel
As for Ea's healing, I use channeling when 2 or more people are hurt, and a spell if there's only one guy hurt, as Yasmin said.
I was only asking to use the healing wand once or twice, and giving it back to whoever might be carrying it.
Yasmin al Akbar
On a completely different note, I just realized that Yasmin has one more 1st level spell than she should. Given the spells I've used recently, let's pretend I don't know how to Vanish anymore.
Ea, I just saw that you have the Gentle Rest power, to put staggered creatures to sleep. If you're up for it, Yasmin might switch one of her 1st level spells to Snowball next level as a combo with that ability! The Snowball spell fits Yasmin's water magic theme perfectly.

Sounds fun! Have a good time, we'll be here when you get back.
Yasmin al Akbar
Enjoy! I heard that August is the traditional time to take vacation in France.

I PM’d Pertreeko a week or so ago – but didn’t get a reply. Hoping everything is okay with him; he certainly had a load on his plate with new child and job issues so I am happy waiting a while to give him the best chance of hopping back in the game. In the meantime, I will try to run his character in the best way but, if you are looking for him to take a particular action, just let your friendly GM know…
Yasmin al Akbar
He did seem pretty darn busy. I hope he can return to post regularly soon.
Yasmin al Akbar
I have a mechanical question about Hero Points:
Supposedly, Hero Points can be used in the form of readied actions, according to the SRD:
Act Out of Turn: You can spend a hero point to take your turn immediately. Treat this as a readied action, moving your initiative to just before the currently acting creature. You may only take a move or a standard action on this turn.
Just how immediate are we talking about here? If it's an option, Yasmin would wait to spend her Hero Point until the moment when Klarkosh casts his spell. But if not, she'll just pop her Hero Point immediately and see what happens.
GM Zed
The ‘Act out of turn’ Hero Point is slightly more troublesome in PbP!!! I think that effectively you can use it at any time during the sequence of player’s posts (noting that we normally treat initiative in blocks) or you can ready it against an enemies action (specifying what will trigger it)…
Also waiting on actions from Ea and Pertreeko, (will GMPC Pertreeko after Ea acts).
GM Zed
For info, the Kickstarter that I previously told you folks about – the Legendary Planet Adventure Path – funded last night with a full seven adventure (with prelude) romp across the multiverse. At some point soon backers will receive the Player’s Guide and the prelude Adventure (with the following adventures coming approximately bimonthly after that) – I fully intend to run the AP on these boards and so, after spending a little time reading and reviewing the prelude, I shall launch a recruitment thread. I will be sure to post here to let you know when I have set up recruitment.
GM Zed
All, still hopeful of Pertreeko returning, however - in the event that we get to mid August and there is no sign, I will run a recruitment... the other Emerald Spire game, who are still on the Drowned Level are also down to four players so it makes sense to recruit for two at the same time...
Indeed, you both have parties of
A Cleric,
A Sorcerer
A Rogue
A Fighter / Ranger
...so you both give a degree of flexibility as to what people could play...
...having said that, I'll wait until the summer holidays are moreorless over... and I'd rather have Pertreeko back anyway!
Yasmin al Akbar
Sounds good to me! Thanks for the update.
Yasmin al Akbar
Also, with Ea taking a vacation we might be slow for the next couple of weeks anyway, so that becomes a natural waiting period.
Rallos Therinor
I am up for waiting for Ea...2 players away out of 5 is a big thing. Are you going to open up recruitment again? That way we could use the downtime to add to the group. Just s a thought....
Yasmin al Akbar
My intuition is the same. Seems weird to continue with only 60% of the group.
Grayface
Sorry, I wanted to post earlier today but my work internet browser hasn't allowed me to post.
I am inclined to agree with these guys. Let's wait for Ea, and maybe try to recruit another friend to replace Petreeko.
GM Zed
Okay, happy to put exploration on hold whilst we all enjoy the summer!!!!
I was going to hold off from recruitment until later in the month – primarily for 2 reasons:
- The first, and most important, I am on holiday from the 17th to the 23rd…
- And the second being that RPG Superstar is about to kick off (entries are due by 17th August) and that may well occupy a lot of folks’ time on these boards.
What I may aim to do then is to start recruitment around the middle of next week and run it over the two weeks… Do you folks have any view as to what kind of character would make a good fifth team member?
Yasmin al Akbar
I agree - we have all the traditional bases covered, so anything is just fine.
GM Zed
Folks,
I am away on holiday for a week as of tomorrow and, right now, I have no idea as to whether there will be any internet access at the cottage we are staying at – therefore, it is quite likely that there will be no GM posts through until about the 24th August. However, if there is access, I will endeavour to keep things moving along – and shall also commence recruitment for Pertreeko’s replacement.
Cheers,
GM Zed

Ping here too.
Hope Ea had a wonderful holiday and I hope bossman is having one too!
