As the thugs turned and his fellow Starfinders moved forward and they all began swatting at each other ineffectually, Isho sighed and shook his head. What have I gotten myself into, he thought, reaching back and pulling his rarely-used Lizardstopper pistol from the small holster under her jacket. He'd had the small semi-auto slugthrower for years back on Akiton - most people carried something similar just in case one of the local Ikeshtis went feral all of a sudden.

"The things an ysoki's gotta do in this universe," he muttered, then pointed the pistol into the air and fired off a warning round. "Alright you bums, last chance to back off the old lady before I fill you with lead-based alloy."

Stealth:
(Dex; Armor Check Penalty)

You can stay hidden and move silently to avoid detection, allowing you to sneak past foes or strike from an unseen position.
Hide

You can use Stealth to hide if you have either cover or concealment (or a special ability that allows you to hide in plain sight), or if you have successfully created a diversion with the Bluff skill. You can attempt a Stealth check to hide either as a move action (if you are planning to stay immobile) or as part of a move action. If you move at a rate of half your speed or less, you take no penalty to your Stealth check. If you attempt to hide while moving more than half your speed or after creating a diversion with Bluff, you take a –10 penalty to your Stealth check; these penalties are cumulative if you do both. The check is opposed by the Perception checks of creatures in the area that might detect you. A creature that fails the opposed skill check treats you as if you had total concealment as long as you continue to have actual cover or concealment. A creature that succeeds at the opposed skill check either sees you or pinpoints you in situations when you have total concealment. If you lose actual cover or concealment during your turn, you can attempt to stay hidden, but only if you end your turn within cover or concealment.

Meat of the last post.

Seeing Joker trying to sneak around, the Red thug kept an eye on him while he was moving up. Seeing him move onto the bridge, the Red Thug swang his baton but didn't connect.

The two on Ceren saw this and were not caught unaware of his approach and were not caught off guard. Switching to their batons, both swang at Joker, but both missed. Drawing a weapon, Joker you get one AoO on one of the two.

Meanwhile, Red swang his baton once more at Nalun. Finally catching him on the cheek. Doing somewhat little damage.

You started to head to your last mission when a small droid approached your group. [b]"Greetings Starfinders. Historia-7 has sent me to give you this." It's compartment opens up and inside you see A Standard Datajack and card with 200 credits on it.

A simple electronic has a message from Historia-7 The Datajack is a token of thanks from the Dataphiles. Good work Starfinders.

The last thing in the box is a rifle, Don't know how you missed it until now, but there it sits. It also has a note, but this one is from Jubair. Found this while packing. Don't let the Creep shoot himself in the foot with it.

Datajack:

System Brain
Model Level Price
Standard 2 625

This cybernetic includes a programmable data port that allows you to access different types of computers and digital storage media. Any handheld computer can be inserted directly into the port, while larger systems need to be connected by an adapter cable. Having the system connected directly to your nervous system obviates the need for an interface to access data on a system. Actually operating the system requires you to use the Computers skill as usual. Some closed systems don’t allow data access or require you to do some rewiring to connect with a datajack (usually an Engineering check).

Advanced datajacks make it easier to process and send information through the datajack. With a high-density datajack, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Computer checks when accessing a system via your datajack. An accelerated datajack instead provides a +2 bonus

After the droid leaves, you continue on your journey to meet up with Zigvigix and learn his mission.

Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. “Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations!” the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. “My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!"

“When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!
“My second assignment...” Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. “Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!”

When all three of the thugs suddenly ran off, Isho lowered his lizardstopper and nodded to himself. Damn straight they're scared.

The fact that Historia-7 walked up moments after the thugs ran was suspicious though, as was the way she swept through and spirited away with the old hacker and her grandkid. One moment they were in a firefight and people were bashing each other with batons, the next he and the other fresh Starfinders were standing in the park all alone.

Was this what life was like in the Starfinders?

He was about to suggest that maybe he and the others should clear out before a Warden or station security came to check out the noise, but it seemed the group was already moving on so he trailed behind. When the trundling little robot showed up, Isho waited for the others to finish with it before stepping forward to read the note without being rushed or bumped.

"Huh, that's pretty handy," he said, looking at the datajack. The rifle was pretty neat too, but that datajack... "Anyone else interested in this, or could I take it? It would've made all that hacking I did for the old lady so much easier."

Isho takes the Datajack unless someone else wants it too, in which case they can talk.

In the art park, Isho sniffed at the air from under his white mask at the smell of the various street food vendors. When they approached the modified Shirren, Isho was a little surprised that such a being was in charge of a Starfinder faction, but as they addressed the group they seemed quite amiable. Cupping his hands together, Isho moved forward to accept the offer of some grub candy. "Thank you for the offer, Master Zigvigix ."

Listening to the two assignments Ziggy had for them, Isho munched on the rice candy and nodded. The strange harpoon-shooting alien! He'd known as soon as he heard about it that was going to come up. He was a little more surprised by the second. "Did... did you say Strawberry Machine Cake!? They're my favorite! Why would you want to give it to Historia-7? She seems like more of an Eoxian-Ikeshti Fusion Death Rock person to me."

Osuro starts to comment about the record after Nalun's question, but giggles slightly instead at Isho's reaction. "I think we can acquire the album for you soon enough. We won't be able to deliver it until after we handle the creature anyway, I think." he broadcasts to the group.

Who's gonna claim the rifle? I think we're going to want that in use during this fight. Osuro's NOT proficient with long arms.

Zigvigix nods his insectoid head and replies to Nalun's quesion. "Yes, the hostile alien is a creature known as a feather stalker. It's a predator far more unpleasant than it's name implies. As far as we know, the two-bit crime lord illegally imported the creature and it... ate him." after that sinks in, he continues to wait for other quesions.

Zigvigix looks a little bit down, if you could really tell on an insectoids face, as Isho brings up the reason for the Strawberry Machine Cake. "Yes, Historia-7 has been a little down after losing her mentor in the Scoured Stars. We are hoping that the sugar pop music can cheer her up. The band's music always make us feel better. he goes on, almost gushing with the emotions he's feeling from just talking about the band.

DC 17 Sense Motive:
You can tell that Zigvigix is not buying a copy for himself. The shirren’s response makes it clear that despite their obvious desire, they downplay their opinion when it might benefit themself and seem uncomfortable spending money on their own personal wants—an oddity for the highly individual shirrens.

Will you go out of your way and buy this CD for the nice bug? That is up to you to decide. More Coming your way soon. Enjoy your turkey and time with your family. If you're like me, you'll be watching bad movies while sitting at home alone in Japan. :p

Isho cocks his head slightly as Zigvigix mentions the incident that had opened up the Starfinder Society training facilities to people such as him in the first place. Sure, the Universe probably would have provided a way for him anyways, but the Scoured Stars had been big news. Really big news.

Something about the way the Shirren was talking, the way they were so polite despite their position, and concerned about their fellows, was ingratiating. Isho felt like the Shirren could use a hug, if it wasn't for the fact that hugging was against Isho's religion. Also, it was probably against proper protocol.

"Well, I'm all for getting both of these things done. What do you say, team? I'll stand in that line if you wanna go take on that tiny beastie - or you could wait for me. Up to you."

If I'm keeping track, current loot payout in pure credits should be 120 credits, so if no one else wants to chip in I'll pay for a copy of SMC for the mission, and one for Ziggy there. If someone else chips in on the mission one I'll buy myself one too.

Isho and Osuro:
You two have heard of the Feather Stalker, but only some rumors of what it can do. It is known to be a fearsome creature, always fighting those who have entered its territory. It attacks from near when possible, but unknowing victims have been slain by its ranged abilities. Was looking for its description in the CRB but wasn't able to find anything more helpful. The Starfinder Knowledge rolls are a little harder than Pathfinder. This is an average monster, so it's 10+(1.5*CR) bringing the skill pass to DC 14 for basic information. So, I tried to give you what you would have heard in a bar or classroom. Nothing to special.

I take it that you guys went to get the limited edition holo-projector of Strawberry Machine Cake. In which case, I need you all to make a 12 fort save or be Fatigued then a 11 Reflex save to avoid taking 1d4 ⇒ 1 damage by being trampled.

Some people that you've passed might or might not have been completely too old for this band, but you're not one to judge... too much. The shopkeeper looks at you. Even though Joker is slow due to the fatigue, he manages to use his elbows to avoid the worse of the crowd.

As to the question of the shop-assistant, he stays mute. He would surely buy some spare copies just in case, but his own economy is not specially prolific to afford that.

Got 50c to spend, if we agree on buying several copies.

Don't forget that you do have money from this adventure that will be gone once it's over.

All this. For an album...

Somehow Isho managed to convince his companions that they needed to get in line prior to going and clearing out the warehouse. Some combination of 'Do you want to stand in an extra-long line after fighting a terrible beast' and 'it might be sold out' and 'As your medic I prescribe Strawberry Machine Cake twice daily' seemed to do the trick.

The line itself was a bit of an ordeal, though his excitement kept it from being to draining and he managed to avoid contact with the various other fans who seemed to desperately be trying to make the line as gross as possible by touching, dancing and occasionally attempting to stampede their way through the front of the store.

Once inside, Isho stepped up onto the little pedestal at the cashier specifically designed to allow shorter races to see over the counter. "We'll take three," he said. "Could you wrap two up as gifts please? That would be great.' Taking some of the credits they had earned to pay for the super-special holo editions might have seemed frivolous to some of his compatriots, but he knew it was worth it. The irony that they were purchasing that fogey Historia-7 a copy with her own money had a delicious lick of irony though.

Loading his newly purchased album into his rig, he smiled to himself under his bone-white plastic mask. Battle music.

After a long wait, you were able to get three copies of the holoprojector. Returning to Zigvigix to give him Historica-7's copy of the holoprojector program. "Thank you Starfinders. I am sure Historica-7 will love this." you can see that he's happy for her, but there is something more.

You can see that he is happy for his friend... but he would have loved a copy for himself.

"Oh, but Master Zigvigix, that's not all," Isho said, then produced both his tablet rig and the other giftwrapped copy of Strawberry Machine Cake. Pressing 'Play' on the rig, it started playing the first song on the album as he handed the copy to the Shirren. "No true fan should miss out on a release. Maybe this can help you when you're trying to decorate your new offices - which we should probably be getting to."

I did say purchase three - one for Historia, one for Ziggy and for me, because why not. We lose the cash anyways.

I'll accept that.

Ziggy lights up when Isho hands him his own copy of the holoprogram. "vix'koz miy'o laupasu'" he says in his own language before replying again in common. "Thank you very much... Wait here." he quickly goes into the back and comes back out with something draped across his shoulders. "This should help you guys." he hands you, Isho, a Charge Cloak.

Charge Cloak:

A charge cloak can power devices that depend on electrical charges as if it were a battery. The cloak produces 4 charges each day, but they must be used as a single unit. Thus you could power a single attack from a yellow star plasma sword, which has a usage of 4, but you could also make only a single attack with a sub zero pistol, which has a usage of 1. The item must be one which uses charges or a battery, rather than petrol, rockets, rounds, or other forms of ammunition or power. You must be wearing or touching the item to be charged. You cannot use this item to recharge a battery or item; it can only be used to directly power an item for a single usage.

Any last prep that you need while you are heading to the warehouse. Sorry, but you can't rest.

Joker is happy to see Ziggy happy. It's always good to see good people happy.

But now it's time for mayhem.

"Alright, guys, let's do this. But relaxed, please... all these people was too much for me..."

The doors to the warehouse were forced open and no longer lock. As you enter, you notice that the warehouse ceiling is 30 feet high, and a catwalk runs 15 feet above the floor. The crates and vehicle are approximately 5 feet tall, while the cylindrical containers and the crate-filled scaffolding are 10 feet tall.

Action: 1. Climbing the crates and scaffolding. DC 10 Athletics Check. 2. Searching the crates for useful items. DC 12 Perception (1 success per player.)

GM Stuff:

random: 1d4 ⇒ 4 so there are 4 beasts, not just one... Interesting.

Plot out your next 4 rounds worth of movement. Searches don't count for moves. Use colors unique to your character/familiar. Unless you share sight with your familiar, I need Perception checks whenever you come within 5 feet of one of the blue rings.
