Male Half-Elf Summoner 4 {22/22 HP, Init +3, Perception +10 (+14 when adjacent to Oog)}

"Oof, he's kinda heavy." Ilias holds his lower back when he gets done helping.

Savendir and Ilias stash the body with success.

Zarine inspects the door and finds it locked but does not find any traps. However, the lock proves too difficult for her to unlock with her tools.

"Let me."

Owen bends down and produces a set of battered lockpicks, probing the lock.

Zarine hisses quietly in frustration. "Does anybody have a spell to open doors?"

The lock continues to resist Zarine and Owens attempts to open the lock. It's an average lock. DC 25 to open

Nyxalia steps forward, head bowed. "I don't have a spell, but I could give it a try too. I have a little experience with locks. Probably not as much as the rest of you, but I guess it can't hurt for me to try, right?" She crouches down in front of the lock and pulls out some well made and well used Lockpicks and has an attempt at the stubborn lock. With everyone crowded around looking at her though, she fumbles her try and even comes close to snapping one of her picks. She gets up and says "sorry" quietly before moving to the back of the group once more.

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

Is it a padlock, or is it built into the door?

If it's a padlock:

Spoiler:
Owen frowns and reaches into his bag, removing a small vial made of opaque stone and holding it up for Zarine and the others to see.

"Unsubtle."

He removes the vial's glass stopper, pouring a small quantity of strong acid over the loop of the padlock.

It's not a padlock. The lock is a regular door lock that uses a key.

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

Well, f~!$. Do you think what I was going to try on the padlock would work for a regular lock?

I love the idea, but I don't think it will work on the door lock.

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

"Hurm... Maybe give another try."

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

"Sure, just give me a... a hand.... here, hold this..."

Zarine tries again, asking Nyxalia or Owen for a hand.

Disable: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Or maybe she gives them a hand. Yeesh.

SONUVA! I can aid for a 22, but...

Zarine grumbles as she pokes the tools into the lock once again.

It's late.

SERIOUSLY?!

I missed it by more than 4, so I can't try again. :(

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

Owen rolls his eyes, and begins examining the door's hinges, as well as any gaps around the edges of the door.

"F!!@ this."

How sturdy do they look? Also, what is the door made of? Can Owen see through any of the gaps?

I didn't intend for this to be such a major hurdle. Nyxalia, you can keep trying as well. There is no penalty for big misses for open lock. Taking 20 is an option, but there is a high probability of being discovered at this time of day.

Female Oread Monk of the Four Winds/Kensai/Archmage 2/2/2

At a beckoning from the others, Nyxalia comes forward to try her luck once more. She tries to block out the fact that everyone is watching her as she inserts the lock picks into the troublesome lock. Finally, with a click that seems almost too loud, the lock turns. She puts her picks away in her pouch and stands, putting her hand on the door handle. She looks to Savendir to give the all clear to open it and head inside.

"You have unusual locks in this land." Zarine hastily stashes her tools in her pack and wraps her headscarf around her lower face to hide her embarrassment. After she's hoisted her pack to her shoulders, she draws her shining crooked blade and leans her head against the door to discover if their activities have warned anyone.

*shakes fist*

Zarine presses her ear to the door but hears nothing coming from the other side.

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

Owen leans in close as well, listening.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Nope.

Seeing the others listening at the door, she grips the handle tighter and leans into the door, pressing her ear to the wood and closing her eyes to block out any distractions.

Noone has been rolling particularly well on their Skill Checks lately... :/

Owen and Nyxalia both listen for any clues to what is on the other side. No sound comes from the other side of the door.

Female Oread Monk of the Four Winds/Kensai/Archmage 2/2/2

Nyxalia opens her eyes and pulls away from the door. "I can't hear anything, so I'm going to open it and slip inside. Do you want to come too Zarine?" She looks embarrassingly at the exotic woman.

Zarine and Nyxalia slip into the small office quietly. The office is non-descript and empty. The light is low with the curtains drawn and dusk arriving shortly. It has a desk and chair in the middle of the room. On top of the desk are some papers. There is a door leading to the main warehouse on the west wall. It is closed, but a small amount of light can be seen around the edge of the door.

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

Zarine places her ear against the inner door with an odd frisson of deja vu.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

Owen begins examining the papers, keeping an eye out for anything that could possibly be relevant.

Zarine can hear voices coming from the other side of the door, but they seem distant and she cannot make out what they are saying.

The papers are mostly shipping papers recording shipments from/to Sirathu and from/to Urglin.

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

Zarine makes little duck-quacking motions with her hands to the others. "Talkers, but far from the door. That doesn't mean nobody is close, of course, just that they are silent. What now? More sneaking?" she whispers to those in the office, motioning those outside to come in and close the door.

She checks the inner door for traps and locks for good measure.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 +2 vs traps

Zarine carefully checks the door for traps. She does not find any suspicious mechanisms. The door appears safe and it is unlocked.

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

Zarine shrugs and motions to the door with upraised eyebrows. "Shall we? Or shall the quiet ones go?" she asks in a whisper.

Still quietly rifling through the papers on the desk, Owen glances sidelong, whispering.

"How quiet were you thinking?"

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

"How quiet can you be?" she replies archly, fixing Owen with her strange gold stare.

Male Human Rogue 1 / Conjurer 3 / Mythic Trickster 2

"Good question. Plan?"

"Maybe the three of us slip in quietly and slip around the warehouse to see what's going on while the rest wait here for a signal in case of trouble? We could, oh, push a crate over or something if there's a problem, if we even need a signal beyond yelling and commotion. If not, we meet back here and discuss what we've found." Her long fingers tap together under their silken covering. "What bothers me is all those people with holy symbols. I do not like the idea of evil divinities having a crack at us. Their powers can be very nasty. Can anyone give us all some sort of protection from them?"

Female Oread Monk of the Four Winds/Kensai/Archmage 2/2/2

"I'm fine with sneaking in to look around. It's how I do a lot of my work", say Nyxalia quietly.

Male Elf Purist Druid 4, Heirophant 2 {HP 33/34, AC 16, Perception +13}

"Just don't go too far," Savendir whispers. "Look in the area just beyond the door, then return. I know too well the danger of being divided."

Zarine nods and carefully opens the door, peeking out to look for shadow or cover in the main room.

Zarine only peeked into the room (to get the map).

Male Elf Purist Druid 4, Heirophant 2 {HP 33/34, AC 16, Perception +13}

In the office, Savendir peruses the papers looking for anything that looks like it could be shipments of people, as he saw in Sirathu.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

Inside the warehouse

As Nyxalia tries to follow Zarine into the warehouse, Zarine suddenly stops as her intention was only to peek into the larger room. Nyxalia stumbles and knocks over a broom. There is a slight scraping sound as it slides down the wall. However, the faint conversation continues without pause.

Nothing stands out as unusual to Owen. Savendir confirms that the papers on the desk show similar shipments to what he saw in Sirathu. He notices that the last departure was bound for Urglin and it left two days ago on the 18th of Lamashan.

Female Humanoid(vishkanya) Rogue 4/deadly courtesan/Trickster Tier 2 Init +6; Perception +9, low-light vision, darkvision 60'; HP 21/27, MP 3/7

(I assume) Zarine cannot see the conversants past the shelves. After peeking around for a moment for the presence of others, she slips out of the office and to the end of one shelf.

Move from O10 to K8 using stealth (half-speed), then peek around the corner down the aisle between the shelves. Do I need more stealth rolls? How long does one roll 'last'? I also assume the xxxxx's in A10-C12 are not people? If they are, she will not exit the office.

Stealth if needed again: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Zarine: The x's are crates. You are correct you cannot see through the shelves. As far as stealth goes, I play that a roll is good until you change an action. So in this case, you opened the door, stealth roll. Now you are moving, so another stealth roll. You won't need to make another roll until you do something other than moving and watching.

Updated map of the warehouse

Also, go ahead and roll initiative, everyone
