Estelle Numbduster |

Estelle takes Jarus' arm to steady herself,
"Aye cap'n we will have rows but arrows on a ship don't armor the men on yer ship if we come to close. We's be needing to do both, we get some smaller cannon on the side and out fit our men."

Estelle Numbduster |

"So Cap'n we gots a list and figured out the money, Imma go see that old man about payin' fer the repairs, squibbing and upgrades. THen we are off ta where?"

Besmara __ |

"That's an interesting question. Whom do ya want ta loot? Fisher boats? Merchant ships? Small villages? Or search for a rumored treasure hidden on some secret island?" Besmara replies.
She sits comfortably in a chair - feet on the table - and eats grapes while waiting for Fishguts and Trytton to serve boar.

Estelle Numbduster |

"Aye Slavers and Fat merchants who are slavers as well. Lets get rich off fat merchants."
Estelle then pads off towards the dry dock.

Ambrose "Fishguts" Kroop __ |

Fishguts adds his 2 cents worth to the discussion "Ye have ta build some reputation as pirates besides earning the pay for the crew. Bringing up fat merchants is good. But be careful fat merchants have guards. Are ye up to that yet? Ye still missing the men to man the ship!"
He then cuts a ham off one of the boars and puts it on the plate of Noonan. "Tis a good thing ye're getting more than the ration now, aye?"

Lito de'Anora |

That reminds me. Time I guess to do some recruiting.
Lito circulates during the feast telling stories about the joys of pirate life.
Perform Oratory: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Between the stories he casually mentions that the Captain might be looking for more people to join the crew of her ship. Making sure that people know how to sign on without being obnoxious about it.

GM Foxy |
About a dozen of the inhabitants here are willing to leave. Either to get away from this boring place or just to change their place of hiding.
I assume it's enough to tell you, or are there forms to fill out three fold Monday through Thursday from 8 to 12 ;) Your decision, if you want to come up with names for them or just add the numbers.

Besmara __ |

I get the feeling as relatively new CEO that we need some team building activities. Where would I find some motivation trainer?
"This is getting confusing. With all these new pirates signing up I'm losing the overview who belongs to the crew and who not. Can we do some colored cloth at the upper arm or something. It would be a pity if I stab the wrong ones in our first act of piracy." Besmara voices her concerns.

GM Foxy |
Estelle talks to Rickety to add some more things to the ship. Rickety complains that they could have come earlier with that but closes the deal anyway. As finally everything is done and the ship is ready to set sail again all of the village gather for the rechristening.
Craft(Ship): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Also captain Pegsworthy and his crew attend the ceremony. Rickety says a few words about how well that went and what a fine new ship this is now. Captain Pegsworthy tells some things he wishes the crew of the 'new' ship can avoid and ends with a toast "Good fortune and sure sail await what one can crack the Tidewater Rock."
He then swings the bottle of wine at the ship "Always a hand of water under the keel and wind in the sails for the Kraken." The Kraken slides from the dry dock back into the water - now ready to begin the voyage.

Besmara __ |

Besmara thanks Rickety for the good work and Captain Pegsworthy for the favour of rechristening the ship.
"Trytton, have you handed over the payment to Rickety?"
Then she turns to the crew "Now everyone get on board. I want to see the beautiful new sails already. We've been on land far too long - move before we grow roots here."

Estelle Numbduster |

Estelle will round up the new crew as they are all now on the boat, "Ye have joined in with the Great Cap'n Besmara of the Might KRAKEN! We be fair if ye work and hard if ye be lazy, I will be yer Master at Arms. Any of ye have any practice or preference with a weapon?"

Besmara __ |

As the ship is finally under full sails the beautiful sails - colored as the sea with a red kraken on the flying jib - billow in the wind. The ship moves now faster than ever.
"Let's see who will be the first to be caught in the tentacles of the Kraken" Besmara states.
Did you come up with a consent about the other equipment the ship has now? It would be nice to have that fix before the fat merchant appears in the distance.

Estelle Numbduster |

Estelle will rush to the side so she can see the ship as they approach.
"Best get geared up and ready if we are going to the cargo quickly and without to much fusing."

Besmara __ |

"Set course for a chase!" Besmara orders. Doing some quick calculations she adds "This will take hours. Concentrate on sailing for now."
I did a rough estimate. The ship will be at least 4.5 nautical miles ahead of us. With a sailing ship moving at 60ft/round and ours 10% faster it is still about 3.5 hours until we get them. And that is assuming we see already the whole ship. If it's only the top sails that are visible it could easily be three or four times the distance. But that would get boring.

Jarrus Darkhaven |

Since I post less than you guys I'm gonna just leave Jarrus's sailing checks here."
Jarrus sets course for the chase with a gleam in his eye.
Profeession Sailor: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Lito de'Anora |

Lito gathers the officers together as they continue to chase.
What Tactics do we use? Get close and grapple, disable the ship first, and attack from range?

GM Foxy |
Once the Kraken closes in on the barque sailing under Absalom flag a large stone comes flying towards the pirate ship.
distance still almost 400 feet
Catapult Targeting DC 20: 1d20 + 4 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 5 - 2 = 15
Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 3, 3, 5) = 25
Off Target: 1d8 ⇒ 32d4 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
A really heavy stone crashes into the sea leaving an ugly scratch at the rail and the hull of the Kraken.
Nice. Once the Kraken is within the fist range increment it becomes almost impossible to miss the ship with the catapult.

Flips Cummlett_ NPC |

Flips runs towards the ballista closest to the other ship, lining the large bolt up with the attacking ship.
Ballista: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 4 = 203d8 ⇒ (1, 7, 8) = 16
Confirm: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 4 = 66d8 ⇒ (7, 7, 7, 3, 4, 8) = 36
"Reload NOW! Open fire on that SHIP!

Estelle Numbduster |

Estelle runs up with a Bolt and Owlbear, helping the man load it in and winding the winch back to reload. She then grabs one of the new crew and gets them to help Owlbear, cracking her knuckles and her neck. Hiking her pants up and tightening the string, she stares the other ship down ready for a fight.

Besmara __ |

You need 3 rounds to shoot the ballista. They need five to shoot the catapult. So you get to shoot more often.
"We need to get closer really quick. Once we're ramming their behind they can't hit us with stones any more." Besmara tells. "And move to port so they can't shoot at the same direction."
