Pushing forward a bit...
A search of the Mistrunner’s hold reveals that
much of its cargo—fine silks and clothing—has been
destroyed by its long immersion.
Talvek's keen eye turns up the ship’s strongbox, which has a simple lock he easily opens.
Within he finds it contains
pouch containing 10 pearls worth 100 gp each.
Among the rotted clothing is a fine-looking midnight-blue scarfISWG that has survived its immersion.
Within a few moments, the dolphins disappear, returning to their otherworldly home.
To the west the sea floor drops away into a vertiginous black pit.
The water above the shaft seems colder and darker than
that around it, while the smooth-sided walls drop straight
down into the depths, almost as if something had melted
through the earth long ago. A ring of shattered coral growth
surrounds the rim of the chasm.
Sidius Consano
Sidius looks at the pit, "That... seems unnatural. The broken coral, especially."
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella followed Sidius' gaze, "Perhaps we should take a closer look."
She swam towards the ring of shattered coral to investigate.
GM Aarvid
As Sidius and Lubella examine the coral surrounding the pit, they notice primal symbols carved into the coral’s shattered remains—these were wards used to contain the necromantic energies of the Drowned Eye. Now that they are shattered, it would take months to regrow and repair.
Of the darkness below, visibility is dim at best.
is everyone joining? I assume you grab the sunken ship loot.
Also, what are light sources?
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella renewed the light spell on her scimitarto provide illumination.
Lubella's light spell lasts 70 minutes and can be used to measure time when it runs out.
Kenji Haru'
Kenji stuffs the loot into a bag.
“Great eyes you have Talvek!! I am ready for action! What do you think we should do?!“ Kenji asks and casts detect magic and looks around.
He also uses his detect evil ability to scan the surroundings.
If there is nothing special to be seen then he dives into the chasm.
GM Aarvid
The scarf detects as magical before being stuffed into the bag.
There is nothing evil at the top of the eye, but he can tell the depths exceed his range and even that of Lubella’s light.
The darkness and coolness of the deep water is easily felt as you all paddle and swim over.
I need perception checks from everyone swimming towards and into the eye.
Kenji Haru'
Kenji checks the scarf with detect magic.
spellcraft : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
He then moves down and looks around.
perception : 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
Lubella Heathertoes
Prior to descending into the deeper water, Lubella cast her Good Hope spell again.
Casting Good Hope again on the party, using the extend metamagic rod. Each affected creature gains a +2 morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls (duration: 14 minutes).
She looked into the deep as she swam lower.
Perception, Good Hope: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 2 = 26
Talvek Drassed
Talvek takes point again, all senses alert.
Perception, good hope: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 16 + 2 = 36
GM Aarvid
The party sees a lurking shadow rising from the depths. As you watch, the light reveals it to be a hulk of a shark...
what was once a great white shark at least. It appears 60' below you and is swimming up to inspect the light.
Shark is 60' down from you and the ledge (100' down overall)...
party has initiative.
+2 Good Hope in effect...
=== Round 1 ===
Lubella(),Talvek(), Arcos(), Sidius(), Kenji()
Big Dead Shark ()
Lubella Heathertoes
After alerting her companions to the approaching shark, Lubella again cast a spell to enhance her agility, and started her elaborate martial water ballet. She tried to inform her allies about the nature of the incoming hostile.

Note: if anyone gets grabbed br the shark, she will cast Liberating Command as an Immediate Action.
Talvek Drassed
Talvek drinks his extract of Long Arm, getting some extra reach to meet the undead creature.

GM Aarvid
Lubella and Talvek buff themselves with spell and potion.
Along with Kenji, the three suspect it is a zombie shark with those traits typically found in zombies. DR/slashing appetite for brains etc
Kenji swims in a charge downward to stab the beast. The trident skewers the flesh, but appears less effective than would otherwise.
3D combat - The shark is 100’ down from the
Surface and 50’ down from most of you.
Kenji is above the shark slightly.

Big Dead Shark (-11)
Will bot Sidius tomorrow per his instructions
GM Aarvid
Sidius begins to summon a single dolphin. Arcos watches to see if the team can take out the lumbering shark...
The shark wastes no time in trying to chomp on Kenji
bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 for dmg: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (8, 8) + 8 = 24 ouch! (WOW)
The shark means business as it nearly bites the paladin into two!
Summons completes...everyone goes. Remember 3D and most of you are 30-40' away from shark (except poor Kenji)

How far is Kenjii away from Lubella? I'm considering casting Haste if I can affect most of the party.
Lubella Heathertoes
How far is Kenjii away from Lubella? I'm considering casting Haste if I can affect most of the party. The spell has a range of 40 ft, targeting one creature/level, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart.
EDIT: Scratch that: Lubella has cast her last 3rd lvl spell already. :(
Lubella Heathertoes
Swim, Heroism: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Lubella dove towards Kenjii, casting a spell to create multiple images of herself.
Move Action: Swim 5 ft diagonally down, Free Action: Maintain Battle Dance, Standard Action: cast: Mirror Image on herself
Number of Images: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"I'm coming as fast as I can!", she cried in a hoarse whisper.
Spells cast:
3rd lvl: 2/2
2nd lvl: 4/4
Battle Dance rounds used: 3/17
I'm not sure what my current depth is now.
GM Aarvid
we will assume you all started -45’ from surface at. The the level of the wreck.
After swimming down 5’ (you have to enter the pit itself, you are -50’ and Kenji is -85’
and shark is at -90’. See discussion tab and map updates.
Lubella casts and swims 5' down and into the Eye.

Talvek's manta form swims downwards toward the undead shark, rapier point first. As he reaches the creature, his tail flicks around as well, attempting to strike.
Attack, rapier: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 Damage, slashing: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Lubella Heathertoes
Everyone, don't forget the +2 morale bonus to hit and weapon damage from Good Hope.
GM Aarvid
Kenji is able to heal back some of the injury from the shark bite and returns another stab and bite of his own, but only the bite (due to good hope) is able to piece the tough skin of the beast.
Talvek has much better luck using his blade as a slashing weapon...but not the sting, which misses.
Added the +2 from good hope to attacks and damage - which helped
Arcos casts a spell to bolster his defense. Sidius swims down.
The dolphin also attacks note,charge: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17 but misses
The shark does not like all the attention and stays on the paladin.

There are plenty of spots to get into swing at the beast...
Lubella Heathertoes
Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9 DC 12: fail
Lubella was disoriented by the murky water, and couldn't make any progress towards the action. realizing she likely wasn't going to reach the fight, she cast a spell to aid her allies.
Move action: move (fail), Standard Action: cast Mement of Greatness on the party.
"That's the best I can do to help," she apologized.
Each creature affected by this spell is given the potential for greater success and glory. If the affected creature is benefiting from a morale bonus of any type, it can double that morale bonus on one roll or check, before making the roll. Once an affected creature uses this spell’s effect, the spell is discharged for that subject.

Including good hope now! ;-)
“Tough beast!!“ the wolfscarred Ifrit shouts out in pain in the water.
He concentrates and swiftly heals his wounds.

Talvek hisses in agreement, focusing on ending this threat before Kenji was chewed to pieces.
Attack, flanking, good hope, studied target: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 34 Damage, slashing, good hope, studied strike: 1d6 + 7 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 3 + (2, 2) = 19
GM Aarvid
Lubella paddles a bit then stops to cast a spell on the party.
Arcos I had your swim speed of 5' (possibly I missed something enhancing it), so double move would be 10'. The shark is about 40' down and another 20' over to get into flank. 40' down will get you adjacent to Talvek to attack.
Kenji finds that even with the good hope blessing, he is not able to puncture the tough skin of the shark. His healing definitely helps though.
Talvek's blade is much more accurate and hacks into the fish. Again, the water slows the blade, but the damage is significant.
The dolphin continues its attack...
slam: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8 for slam: 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
The shark will turn its attention to Talvek this time...but cannot catch the teifling.

Swim, Heroism: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12 DC 12: pass; I'm assuming one check is sufficient for a double move.
Lubella barely regained her bearings and continued to swim towards the action.
Double Move 10 ft. Maintaining Battle Dance as a free action.
GM Aarvid
I forget if I have Monkey Fish still up or not. If so, it'd be 10.
with move 10’ you could get to 20’ down. Could charge this round to attack from above (no flank but still +2)
GM Aarvid
The dolphin tries once again to slam into the dead shark...
slam: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18 for slam: 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7 miss
Sidius shrugs and swims (double move) downward to keep pace with the party.
GM Aarvid
Arcos charges down and strikes the shark from above.
To keep us movning, I will apply the attacks retroactively, as it is unlikely Arcos and Talvek will kill it.
Kenji, I still have you -13, as I did not see a heal/hands last action. Correct me if I missed it.
The shark continues its counter-bite on Talvek for causing the most hurt last time...
bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 for bite: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (6, 5) + 8 = 19 miss

“Go dooooown now!!“ the wolfscarred Ifrit howls.
Kenji strikes the dead shark with his trident again and also bites.
trident piercing, 2-handed, power attack : 1d20 + 2 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 9 - 2 = 271d8 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 10 = 20

Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
Lubebella swam steadily towards the caombat; she could see Kenjii 15 dt in front of her. "I'll be there in a few more seconds!"
Depending on how much room there is around te shark, she may be able to attack it in 2 rounds. She won't be able to heal Kenjii next round, but could the round after that.
Talvek Drassed
Talvek nimbly evades the shark's attack, then renews his own attempts to destroy the undead creature.

GM Aarvid
Lubella there are plenty of spots to attack from above as 20+ medium people could attack from above :)
Kenji and Talvek connect to make sizable holes in the shark…it is looking pretty beat up at this point.
Arcos Vadreis
Attack v Touch, Flank, Good Hope, Piranha Strike: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 20

“That was tougher than I thouuuught!!“ he howls and gives the rest of the party a wolf smile.
GM Aarvid
Kenji is able to recover his wounds as the others swim down to the level with the now floating shark. It was once a large creature, but turned to evil menace of this dark, deep pit. The shaft continues downward into the darkness further.
As your light reaches below you, it reveals the tops of broken masts followed by wrecked ships, lost in the eye.
The dolphin and other rounds buffs will expire before you reach this point.
Talvek and other fast swimmers could reach it in 2 rounds. Most will take 5-10 rounds.
An insane tangle of broken ships, a dozen at the least, lies in
a jumbled heap near the bottom of the trench. The sodden
wreckage is so thick that it’s impossible to tell the true depth
of the pit beneath the clogged mass of sunken vessels. A
narrow alcove to the east overlooks the heap of wreckage.
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella apologized for being late to the battle, "Sorry I couldn't help out more; I just couldn't swim fast enough."
She peered down into the depths below, "Maybe we can investigate the wrecked ships before my spell runs out. After that we'll probably need to return to the surface: I've used up most of my magic for the day."
Lubella's Good Hope has a total duration of 14 minutes.
