Lubella Heathertoes |

Lubella whispered to her friends, "She seems eager for us to leave; I'm not sure what to make of that."

Talvek Drassed |

"We would like to see more of this place before we return to the village and bring the druid to help you, if you don't mind. You are probably sick of this place, but to us it is very new and fascinating."
Diplomacy, free inspiration: 1d20 + 18 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 18 + (5) = 41

Mystery Lady |

You make a compelling argument. I can show you where I lived during life. The tangle of ships has little left to show for itself, now that you have dispatched its sailors. But there are always more. You can feel the pull into the Eye, can you not? It is even more pronounced the close you get to the center of the tangle. As if some unnatural force seeks the ships.
As Talvek approaches she makes a motion for him to come closer and look down.
The motions seem unnatural, but arcane sigils for a domination spell effect
Make a DC22 Will vs Enchantment/Mind effect or become dominated and instructed to approach and set down weapons via mental command.
=== Round 8 ====
18-Lubella(),Talvek(),Kenji(-5), Arcos(-9) Sidius(casting), Octopus(g)

Lubella Heathertoes |

Spellcraft, Good Hope: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 = 14 fail
Lubella looked to where Menotha was pointing, but couldn't make out much.
Perception, Good Hope: 1d2 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 2 = 14

Kenji Haru' |

spellcraft : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Kenji swims forward to be close to Talvek in case something new is attacking from below.
swim : 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
swim : 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 2 = 16

Talvek Drassed |

Will save, inspiration: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 5 + (2) = 22
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Talvek's fingers go slack on the grip of his rapier and he almost lets the weapon tumble into the depths as he swims closer to Menotha, but then freezes.
Perception: 1d20 + 18 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 18 + (1) = 37
"You're right, I can feel it! It's like a voice in my head, telling me to do things!" Talvek swims back a few feet, communicating to the others. "It is dangerous to go closer, not from a physical attack, but a mental one."
Sense motive Menotha: 1d20 + 14 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 14 + (3) = 18

Sidius Consano |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Sidius halts, "She's cast a spell. I didn't quite see all of it, but it's a compulsion. Or domination," and immediately begins a summoning spell.
As he decides that the figure is hostile, the Celestial Octopus swims forward to attack.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Yeah, that's a miss.

GM Aarvid |

Talvek appears engaged in mental battle before gaining control of himself as he wrestled some powerful force.
Kenji swims and Sidius summons while octopus interacts with the elf ghost with little effect.
Talvek noticed from his vantage that the ghost looks less like ghosts you have seen in the past but more as an image or projection. One of the tentacles momentarily passed through the stone wall behind the elf woman.

GM Aarvid |

Arcos and Lubella can act or move closer. Talvek you still have standard action since you saved and moved.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 2 = 16
Lubella swam towards Talvek and the spirit, "Menotha, explain yourself!"
Double Move.

Talvek Drassed |

Expecting further trouble, Talvek drinks an extract.
Focused Scrutiny on Menotha, duration 1 hour, +10 on Perception, SM, Survival against them.

Mystery Lady |

The elven ghostly woman looks up to the rest of you.
I am not sure I could explain it simply enough for your primitive minds to comprehend. You obviously are not overly clever at taking hints to depart. the tone has turned from pleading to condescending.
She seems to ignore the octopus for the moment. She looks past Talvek to the next closest of the swimmers. In this case, Kenji.
Again some strange movements (same Kn Spellcraft DC24 as above).
DC22 will or be dominated, and commanded to approach and set your weapon at her feet.
=== Round 9 ====

Kenji Haru' |

will : 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
spellcraft : 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
“I .. I don’t know what’s going on, but maybe she’s right! Something is off here and playing with my mind!“

Talvek Drassed |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
"It's her! She's trying to dominate your mind, Kenji!"
Talvek took great pride in his mind. To have someone attempt to wrest control of that from him.... the tiefling doesn't enrage easily, but he is now very angry.
"That was ill-advised," is all he says before his rapier whips out to meet the woman's form.
Attack, studied target: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34 Damage, piercing: 1d6 + 7 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 3 + (4, 3) = 23

Sidius Consano |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Already expecting the worst and in the midst of casting a spell, Sidius doesn't catch the figure's spellcasting this time.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10 fail:(
Lubella temporarily lost her orientation and had to get her bearings again.
Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 fail again:(
No movement

GM Aarvid |

Kenji resists some mind games.
Talvek stabs the elven ghost and his blade cuts but only half effective as typical with ghosts…if anything about fighting ghosts can be called typical.
Lubella appears to be momentarily stuck in some strange eddy within the Eye…no doubt the doom of several of the tangled ships.
=== Round 9 ====
21-Menotha()
18-Lubella(),Talvek(),Kenji(-5), Arcos(-9) Sidius(), Octopus(g)

Kenji Haru' |

“It is her?!? Are you sure!!?“ he says but trust the group.
He casts Fallback Strategy on himself and smites the ghost.
Swift Action : smite +4 to hit and +4 to damage and *4 deflection bonus to AC vs the ghost.
AC 19 T 12 vs ghost.
Kenji moves forward to the ghost.

Kenji Haru' |

will : 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32

GM Aarvid |

Sidius Consano |

Sidius motions and a small water elemental appears, rushing the figure.
The spell done, Sidus moves forward, closing the distance and readies his crossbow.

Kenji Haru' |

Kenji suddenly shouts, ""This apparition is not real!! An illusion! Look for the real target somewhere around us!!" and he howls!!

Sidius Consano |

Sorry, I didn't roll them, but I guess they might realize that the illusion is an illusion.
Elemental (Slam, Flanking, Water Mastery): 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 10
Octopus (Bite, Flanking): 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19
Octopus (Tentacle, Flanking): 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

Arcos Vadreis |

With a seemingly invisible foe hanging around the Eye, an idea occurs to Arcos.
He begins intoning a series of mystic syllables, intent on conjuring a dolphin from the waters of Elysium.
Starting to cast summon monster 1. Nothing beats 120ft blindsight for finding enemies!

GM Aarvid |

The elemental misses its slam, but the octopus flails at the ghost and its tentacles pass through it and the wall behind it.
Arcos begins summoning.
Some of you begin to suspect something fishy about the ghostly woman. Sidius is seeing his octopus interacting with the wall behind her as well.
As you ponder what it means, Menotha says, in a much deeper, resonating voice.
Alas, I tire of this game. Kill them!
A large shark and a very familiar looking, somewhat depressed male sea-elf pass through the wall next to (and above) the elven ghost.
Yesss master. you hear a quick spell from the elf.
The shark bites at the octopus, and almost gets a tentacle.
bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 for bite: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 MISS
Arcos's summoning spell finishes
(using the map SE quadrant for combat...for simplicity, will assume all at same depth/level as ledge.)
=== Round 10 ====
21-Menotha(), Nerrenn(), Shark()
18-Lubella(),Talvek(),Kenji(-5), Arcos(-9), Dolphin(), Sidius(), Octopus(g), Elemental()

Lubella Heathertoes |

Spellcraft, Good Hope: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 22
Lubella reported, "Menotha cast Bear's Endurance, which is odd for a supposed undead spirit!"
Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19
She regained her bearings and swam toward the action.

Talvek Drassed |

"I wish I could say that this is a surprise," sighs Talvek, bubbles of air escaping upwards. The tiefling quickly redirects his attention towards the sea elf.
Attack Nerrenn: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Opportune parry: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Opportune riposte: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 Riposte damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Kenji Haru' |

!"What treachery is this!!??" Kenji shouts.
Kenji hits the shark!!
trident piercing, 2-handed, power attack : 1d20 + 2 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 9 - 2 = 261d8 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 10 = 16
Bite piercing/blud./slash., power attack: 1d20 + 2 + 9 - 2 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 9 - 2 - 5 = 141d6 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 6 = 10

GM Aarvid |

Lubella swims closer to the fray.
Kenji stabs the shark with his trident.
arcos , the dolphin may or may not detect anything but per normal summons Arcos would. Not know unless he can communicate with it…mentally or via language.
Talvak stabs towards the village captain Nerrenn.
I gotta validate the hit but need laptop to confirm tomorrow

GM Aarvid |

Talvek's blade just manages to get through the oddly scaly skin of the surly sea-elf.
You will pay for that!
Arcos, the dolphin can use sonar...blindsight.
But I am not sure how you would communicate with it as to what it sees? Have it make a will save also.
=== Round 10 ====
21-Menotha(), Nerrenn(-6), Shark(-16)
18-Lubella(),Talvek(),Kenji(-5), Arcos(-9), Dolphin(), Sidius(), Octopus(g), Elemental()

Sidius Consano |

Sidius focuses his will and throws a hex at the elf, hoping that it's not dead like the others were, then cackles to keep the magic going.
Evil Eye, -2 to AC for 8(9) rounds, will reduces to 1(2)Octopus (Bite): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 for 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Elemental (Slam, Water Mastery): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 1 = 16 for 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6

GM Aarvid |

Sidius hexes the elf warrior...and he is disturbed by the witch's attention.
will: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Arcos watches the dolphin to see if it does anything, but it most likely attacks the targets it detects before it (shark and elf).
The Octopus misses with its bite. The water elemental misses with its slam on the new shark, which seems smaller but more lively than the zombified one from before.
Will delay Arcos and Dolphin tomorrow...remember that the ceiling is 10' high in the tunnel, so you can go above the front rank to reach the shark or elf.
=== Round 10 ====
21-Menotha(), Nerrenn(-6), Shark(-16)
18-Lubella(),Talvek(),Kenji(-5), Arcos(-9), Dolphin(), Sidius(), Octopus(g), Elemental()[/b]

Arcos and dolphin watch for an opening to react.
Nerrenn claws back at Talvek.
Elf claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 for claw: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 miss/parried/reposted
AHHHH!! the elf grunts in pain as the rapier strikes his arm.
Elf claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 for claw: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 miss
The shark snaps back at Kenji and barely manages to catch him with razor sharp teeth.
Shark claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 for claw: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 hit
The ghost-elf casts a spell and two missiles of force come streaking out and hit Kenji.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Does Lubella have room to swim over/around Kenjii and reach Nerrenn?

Kenji Haru' |

!"You will be judged by your elven relatives traitor!!" Kenji shouts at the elf.
Kenji hits the shark!!
trident piercing, 2-handed, power attack : 1d20 + 2 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 9 - 2 = 221d8 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 10 = 20

Lubella Heathertoes |

Swim, Good Hope: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12 Pass, I think.
Lubella swam above Kenji, and started her martial water ballet, preparing to engage the treacherous elf, demanding "What is the meaning of this, Nerrenn?"
Move Action: swim ft., Move Action: start Battle Dance.
Battle Dance Rounds used: 9/19

Talvek Drassed |

"Yes, Nerenn, please do your villain henchman monologue. You realize that's what you are, don't you?"
Talvek needles the sea elf with both word and blade, but he's still not used to striking through water and his attack is diverted.
Attack Nerenn: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Attack manta ray tail spine: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Opportune riposte: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 Riposte damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

GM Aarvid |

Kenji stabs into the shark again with his trident. The beast twitches and thrashes and goes limp.
NOOOOO!
Lubella swims into position next to Nerrenn, who is in anguish over the injury to his pet.
Even if my master did not need you dead, now I would kill you for that.
Talvek's blade is badly timed by the dialog, but the spine strikes true.
IT IS YOU! You are the intruders that have no idea what harm you are doing. You should have never come here.
=== Round 11 ====
21-Menotha(), Nerrenn(-23), Shark(-36, bleeding)

Lubella Heathertoes |

Lubella tried briefly to determine if Nerrenn was perhaps undead, before trying to subdue him.
Knowledge (Religion, Good Hope: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15 Unless Lubella has good reason to think that Nerrenn is immune to non-lethal damage (for example, by being undead), she is going to try to subdue him.

Move Action: move, Swift Action: Arcane Strike, Standard Action: attack
However, she was so intent on not cutting him, that her blade missed completely.
Mithril Scimitar (non-lethal:Nerrenn), Good Hope, Cat's Grace, slashing weapon underwater: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 17 | miss on a 1 :(

Talvek Drassed |

"Then please enlighten us! So far we have seen only deception from you and your master. We are not unreasonable people!" Talvek cries in frustration at the sea elf, noticing Lubella's merciful maneuvering.

GM Aarvid |

”You would not understand the importance of the work being done here. A greater purpose than you can imagine.“
