First Contact and leaving home: While Jak had dreamed of having his own world-roaming adventures his whole life, there was more to his finally deciding to leave than simple wander-lust. It was him realizing he was a channeler. He was up to his usual trouble in Ebou Dar nine years ago (when he was 18). He'd spent a week wasting some recently 'earned' money around some of the gambling houses and had butted heads with a local minor noble more than a few times. He'd been winning more and more money off the boy, and a duel was on the horizon. When Jak began hitting on the boy's girl… well, it was all but a sure thing. Jak, being the cocky prat that he is, decided to really stick it to the snotty rich kid and sought him out. finding him at one of their local haunts, he immediately began flirting with the girl again. (You see where this is going.) A duel nearly happened, but one of the noble's friends talked him down, 'this merchant trash isn't worth it' might have been said. The short version is that the noble decided not to let it go, and they jumped Jak and his friends later. What should have been a simple duel became a midnight alley fight. All Jak remembers was that his adrenaline was SERIOUSLY pumping during the fight, and he felt all but invincible. Jak got too caught up fighting his rival to notice that one of the noble's friends had stuck his own friend pretty good, and it became a 3 on one fight. Adrenaline and fear roared and mixed into a strange giddy exhilaration. Realizing he was seriously out-numbered, he dove to take down his rival, grabbing him even as he took a blade across the ribs. Jak would take this kid out. Where Jak touched the noble, bones popped and muscles and tendons tore. The next few minutes are lost in a haze, but he remembers becoming aware of himself carrying his friend back towards their house. He felt weak, sick, and a bit drunk. His friend didn't have the cuts he knew he'd taken, but Jak looked like he would die.
After sleeping off the sickness for a day at a random dockside tavern, he soon realized he'd gotten in way too deep. He left a note for his parents and left, taking only what he had on him… his blades, his cards, his dice, and the clothes on his back.
He's lived the last 9 years or so with this life. Seeing the world, constantly moving, living off what he could win, beg, or steal. His horse, Chance, his clothes, his weapons, and whatever merchandise he thinks will find a buyer in another town (usually small, portable, but high-priced items). He avoids going home in general, and when he does he keeps his head down and rarely visits his parents. It tends to be tense. The law's not really after him, but there are people who remember who he is who haven't necessarily forgotten that fight.
Double-dealing: Jak has found himself in a very strange place in life in one aspect. During one stint in Tear, he gambled with a slumming noble who got drunk, showed off his money, and basically started being an ass to everyone in the place. Light-blinded Tairen nobles thinking they own everything and everyone! So Jak got to know him, acted like he was his friend in order to get close to him, lost enough gold to the guy to make the man think him honest, then got himself asked back to the guy's place for some drinks and smokes. Long story short, he ended up relieving the guy of some of his family's jewels. He returned to the tavern where the guy had been such an ass that evening thinking he'd pass on some of his own money to make the people feel better after such a rotten evening, and ended up getting drunk and staying at the place. The noble, realizing he'd been robbed knew he needed help, but the city watch had no clue how to help him. The noble vouched for Jak, so he was off the hook, which meat the watch had no leads to get the money back. Remembering that Jak had bragged about all his connections and skillz, he came to find Jak to hire him to get his jewels back. Jak agreed and - after an appropriate amount of 'hard work' - completed the job for an amount of money that he convinced the noble was worth it (over the price of the jewelry - 'they are, in fact, family heirlooms… they're worth more than just their weight in crowns, my friend').
If that were the end of the story, that would be one thing. But the noble just couldn't' help but brag on his friend, and Jak found that he ended up having to take on another job to track down another guy's stolen stuff. In total, he's had to do a similar job three or four times, hunting down stolen merchandise or the people who stole them. From con man to thief-taker in one stupid decision.
Madness: I'd love for Jak to be one of those incredibly lucky guys who seems to have staved off the Madness somehow. I don't know how you want to handle it, but if Jak madness score is really high, and Jak is somehow aware of it, I wold be more than happy to swap out Dodge for Mental Stability. Let me know what you think of this.
Let me know what you think of all that.

Okay, I finally have some time to answer these questions!
Backstory:
Jed grew up in Baerlon, leaving for Caemlyn with his mother when he was fifteen years old, just after his father died. In order to help support his mother, he joined the Queen's Guard where he grew to love the Andor as a nation. He is a fervent supporter of Queen Morgase, having served as one of her personal guards for some time. His time in the Guard introduced him to many important people, including Gareth Bryne, Elayne, Gawyn, Galad, and Elaida Sedai. He was even there when Rand al'Thor "infiltrated" the castle walls.
When the Seanchan invaded Falme, volunteers were sent to gather information about the rumors of the strange men. Were they a threat to the Queen and Andor? Jed joined this group of volunteers at the request of Gareth Bryne and in Falme he met Jasmine. He helped her escape the clutches of the Seanchan, but the rest of his team perished. Jed escorted Jasmine back to the White Tower and then left to report his findings. Jed then left the service and returned to the White Tower to train with the Warders.
He was there when the Tower split and despite his loyalties to Andor and the throne, he fought against the Younglings to try and rescue the Amyrlin Seat.
Relationship with Jasmine:
Having spent some time with Jasmine, Jed supports her in full. He has strong feelings for her, but because she is training to be an Aes Sedai, he has not acted upon them. Still, he wishes to protect her, which is why he left the Guard in order to train with the warders. Jed is supportive of Jasmine and rarely disagrees with her, especially not in front of others.
Gawyn and the Younglings:
Jed was extremely uncomfortable during the splitting of the Tower. On one hand, Gawyn led the Younglings to support Elaida and on the other Jasmine fought with the rebels to rescue Siuan Sanche. Jed followed Jasmine, believing her to be morally right and thus he "betrayed" Gawyn and the throne. This still haunts him, as he is unsure whether or not he was right in fighting against Gawyn.
Dragon Reborn:
Jed actually first saw the Dragon Reborn in Caemlyn when he "infiltrated." At the time, Jed thought he was just a boy trying to make moves on Elayne. Jed does not believe the rumors that the Dragon Reborn killed Queen Morgase, partly because he doesn't want to believe she is dead at all. And the fact that the Dragon Reborn wishes to put Elayne on the throne solidifies his support for him. And again, he defers to Jasmine about matters such as this, and Jasmine's support for the Dragon Reborn is enough for Jed to fully support him as well.
Women Who Channel:
Jed is still leery around women who can channel, though he is less so around Jasmine. He is very uncomfortable with the idea of "magic" and is still struggling with the fact that he will be around it for the rest of his life. When Jasmine channels, he doesn't bat an eye. But when Alathea or Fiallain channel (at least, when he knows they channel), he is quite uncomfortable.
Men Who Channel:
First, I should state that Jed will start off not knowing Jak can channel (unless he decides to let it out before we start). Jed is extremely uncomfortable around men who can channel. He is able to mostly conceal is discomfort and considers Pace to be a friend and comrade. However, Jed is extremely cautious around his while he is channeling and is constantly on the lookout for signs of madness. If a conflict ever arises between Alathea and Pace (or later on with Jak, after Jed finds out), Jed would not immediately know who to side with. In the end, he would likely support whoever Jasmine sides with.
This game looks like it'll be awesome!
Jed al'Raes
And in case you all are wondering:
Appearance:
Jed is a tall (though not as tall as Rand), tan-skinned man with broad shoulders. He has dark brown hair, usually kept to a reasonable length. He is unique in that he wears fairly restricting armor despite his training to be a warder. Most warders where less armor, opting for more freedom of movement, but Jed's training in the Queen's Guard makes him different. He carries a very well made longsword and because he is a southpaw he fights with his left arm, which has thrown a few of his opponents off guard in the past. Though he dresses plainly (most browns to blend in), he does have one interesting bit of color to him. He wears a red sash tied around his left upper arm, a sign that he still supports Queen Morgase (and by extension Elayne) despite her disappearance.
Edit: I'm also looking for a new avatar. We'll see if I find one I like enough to use.
Alathea Sedai
I think Fiallain would have first crossed into the Wetlands when Rand brought them over. She was at the battle of Cairhienen and was wounded there. I'm not sure where or when the campaign will start after that point (assuming of course that it is after that point), so that makes it hard to say where else Fia might have been. If Alathea was in the vicinity of Cairhienen at the time, the two might have met then. If not, then I'd say we probably just met when the whole group got thrown together. :)
While I don't know if it's feasible for Alathea to have been in Cairhien at the time of the battle and then had time to travel to where the campaign will be started, I'll assume that if Fiallain could have done so, so could have Alathea. Perhaps Alathea, being in Cairhien on Tower business, would have been caught there for duration of the battle. In the aftermath, with so many people wounded, she'd have lent her Healing to those needing it, including Fiallain. The Aiel would be a novel and fascinating experience to Alathea, and she'd be eager to befriend Fiallain to find out more about her people. How does that sound to you?
I agree with Jed. I'm more excited about this campaign than any I've played in in a long time!
Jed al'Raes
Jed is a very down-to-earth kind of person, when not in a situation that calls for seriousness. His companions will find him warm and friendly. He has a great sense of humor and smiles often, though he doesn't usually laugh out loud. On the rare occasion he does laugh, it is a booming laughter that is contagious, and signifies that he is in a particularly good mood. Occasionally he'll let out a really good joke, which is usually met with surprise followed by laughter.
Though he is relaxed around his friends and comrades, Jed does not find himself comfortable around people he does not yet know. He rarely speaks to strangers, letting the more charismatic folks in the group take on that role. Jed is a born leader, but does not often take that role unless it is necessary.
When there is a danger or when on business, Jed's demeanor changes instantly to seriousness and all smiles fade. He can easily adopt the persona of a warder, not letting out his emotions and becoming completely stonefaced. But he rarely takes on that persona towards his traveling companions.
Jed is unrelenting and brave, willing to hold the line when others would run. His goal is first and foremost to protect Jasmine and will do anything within reason to ensure it happens, even if that means sacrificing himself. If he gets it into his head that something must be done to protect Jasmine, it will take a lot to change his course of action.

Which is compounded by the fact that Jasmine tends to throw herself into dangerous situations head first.
A little background on Jasmine: Jasmine is Domani and as such knows the power that women have over men. She is not opposed to using her charm to get what she needs but tries not to do it on those she is close with as men are honestly helpless when it comes to women so it would not be fair. ;-) She went to the tower for training very late and actually was instructed in channeling at first by an Aes Sedai travelling through Toman Head. She also had a very short but intense period when she was captured and trained as a damane with the seanchan. An extremely harrowing experience that she owes her life to Jed for bravely rescuing her from the Seanchan patrol before they reached Falme and sent her across the sea. When she finally went to the tower, though she had not been channeling long, her power had gotten significant and as such she only spent 3 months in novice white before passing the test for accepted. She has spent the last year as an accepted although she has spent as much time out of the tower as in.
As far as personality goes, Jasmine is very outgoing and loves to meet new people. She tries to conduct herself with decorum but often the serene mask she tries to keep slips to let loose with the gregarious girl clawing just underneath the surface. She has deep feelings for Jed but has tried to keep their relationship as friends for the time being though she is very confused as to whether she wants more or not.
Appearance: Jasmine is relatively tall at 5'8" but thin and willowy at 125lbs. She is very beautiful with brilliant emerald green eyes and straight black hair that she does in various styles depending upon her mood and the weather. She has the coppery skin indicative of most Domani. When not in her banded accepted dress, she dresses in the sheer silks of Arad Doman when she can although lately she has taken a liking to experimenting with the various styles of the lands.

Well I certainly feel like I've got a better grasp of the group as a whole and the dynamics that will be involved. Thanks to all the posts and insights, I will be posting some notes/info so everyone is on the same page and from there I hope to have the game thread up and running by mid-week at the latest.
Keep discussing any thoughts or questions you have till then and I might posit a few questions of my own as well.
Jed al'Raes
Thanks, Jak! I'm liking this one too. I haven't read any of the spoilered discussions between characters and our DM, so if there is any personality information in there, I wouldn't know... I'm hesitant to open those up, especially for Jak, because I imagine there are some secrets in there that could lead to interesting situations later on.
I'll go back through and reread the non-spoilered backgrounds, so hopefully I'll be okay before we start. I might ask a few questions in this thread about how we all know each other soon though. Actually... Let me do that now:
Here are the relationships I know about and remember (without going back and rereading first):
Jed and Jasmine have a history together. Jed saved Jasmine from the Seanchan and is now training to be her warder. Alathea knows Jasmine from the Tower and by extension she would know Jed. Alathea's uncle is Jak. Faillain has ji'e'toh to Alathea.
That's all I remember... So here are a few questions:
Jak: How did we meet? Did I meet you at the White Tower at some point (maybe you came to visit Alathea)? Then again, you would probably be hesitant to go to the Tower.
Faillain: Did you return to the Tower with Alathea? That would give me a chance to meet you as well.
Pace: I have no idea how we would have met. Any thoughts?
Who else do we have? I don't know anything about Jasper. Also, didn't we have Ryland (played by Kozaric who was originally Graul)? Haven't heard from him in a while either. A list of players would be nice.
Guess I could do it!
Jed: Armsman 5, going to warder.
Jasmine: Wilder 1 / Initiate 4, going for Aes Sedai.
Easop: Was going to roll a new character, possibly and sniffer/rogue-like character. Haven't heard anything since.
Ryland: Woodsman 5, haven't heard from him since October 8th.
Pace: Armsman 1 / Wilder 4, going for Asha'man.
Fiallain: Algai'd'siswai 2 / Wilder 3
Alathea: Wilder 5, going for Aes Sedai.
Jak: Wanderer 3 / Wilder 2
Jasper: Initiate 5, presumably going for Asha'man.
That is a lot of channelers... I'm the only one who isn't if Ryland doesn't return!
So we don't know anything about Ryland, Jasper, or the character-formerly-known-as-Easop.
Jak Taboran
As to the meeting of Jed and Jak, I'm guessing it will depend on how Jonasty puts the group together... so I'm happy to wait for that. The risk/reward ratio is way too skewed for Jak to ever go into the Tower, so they probably didn't meet up there. If I had to guess, they would have been brought together by Jasmine and Alathea meeting.
As for us being Channeler heavy, Jak will play more the roll of a Wanderer and Thief-catcher unless he becomes convinced that the Black Tower is something worth-while. Even then, I may just role-play the Black Tower involvement and keep with Wanderer levels. I intend him to be more of a skill character than a channeling character. I'll be surprised if I take more than a level two more of Wilder/Initiate for the rest of the game.
Alathea Sedai
The risk/reward ratio is way too skewed for Jak to ever go into the Tower, so they probably didn't meet up there.
I don't know if you have an idea in mind for how Jak and Alathea reunited, but yes, I agree that it wouldn't have been in Tar Valon.
How do you think Jak and Alathea got back together? Perhaps Jak, being the dutiful uncle, would check in every so often on Alathea when her studies took her away from the White Tower, and they've been more or less in touch since he left Ebou Dar. Maybe they've just reunited at or shortly before the start of the game by coincidence, and have to figure out how to deal with each other again now that their lives have changed so drastically. I think that either one could be interesting, and if you have something else in mind, I'd love to hear that as well.
Your thoughts?
Alathea Sedai
I think the whole "dropping in on Alathea from time to time" thing is pretty spot-on.
Let's just go with that. She is, after all, his favorite relative (and probably closest/oldest friend).
That sounds good to me. I like it!
Alathea Sedai
This avatar better or worse for Jak? It at least looks less corny.
EDIT: actually now he looks like Jed's little brother... which is a no-go. I'll keep looking.
Actually, I like it. But if you think you need to change it...

Here's the barest of info for where/how we'll be starting. This is intentionally very vague to allow for flexibility down the road as needed.
Everyone will be starting together in a campsite along a road. You are all on your way from Illian to Camelyn. If any of you have not met before then, you will have met in Illian. You all would have essentially done a job (aka adventure) together which is how you know each other and know you can work together. For reasons as yet unlisted, you now need to leave Illian and everyone feels rather comfortable with each other, at least so far, so you head out together.
Nice and vauge? ;-)
The adventure details/synopsis in Illian will be fleshed out by me at a later date, probably in snippet form such as "Hey this guy that suddenly tries to stab you looks like the guy one of you cheated in Illian" or the like. This will probably start to come together once I've seen some of your IC posts and have a better idea of what might have happened in the first place.
Jak as mentioned this job would not have necessarily required you to channel so it's up to you (and Pace and Jasper) how much people know about Jak's ability. Pace/Jasper my understanding of your characters is that you are proudly members of the newly created Black Tower and don't hide this from the party. That being said, as long as you have ranks in Weavesight you'll know Jak can channel. It's up to you 3 how you work out the details.
So if any of you want to know each other from previous experience, that's perfectly fine but if you haven't already met, then you did so in Illian a month or two ago. Other questions or clarifications I can provide just let me know.
Jak Taboran
Would the job we've pulled together have happened in Illian? Or is it an on-going job we're currently on?
My suggestion is that Jak caught up to Alathea in Illian and basically crashed her party. Seeing as how the Tower is getting more and more competent at being incompetent, Jak will take it upon himself to get all up in her bidness and hang out with her for a while… which will inevitably bring him into the group and on the side of the road to Caemlyn.
Let me know what you two think.

random PC gen question: is there no limit to the number of weaves known at higher levels? the only thing i can find is the number of weaves starting out at first level.
help!
For the channelers: As far as knowing extra weaves, I'm ok with the thought that you might have picked up new weaves during your travels. Assume that any of you can start with a number of extra weaves known equal to your total channeling level(s) minus 1. These weaves can be anything you are normally allowed to learn so long as the lowest weave level of the new weave is one less than the hightest you have access to without overchanneling. Example: Pace Majal you are a Wilder 4 so you can learn 3 new weaves. Based on the chart for Wilders, you have access to weaves up to 3rd level. So for the new weaves you learn, the lowest weave casting level has to be 2 or less, so you couldn't learn Move Water(3) or Whirlpool(3-7) even though you can easily cast them if you did know them but you could learn Fireball(2-6).
Put this up back when it was just the old crew, reposting for the rest of you.

I am still interested if you guys will have me. It seems my post and updated character got ate last week.

sure, we need more meatshields to sacrifice to the Dark Lord... i mean...sure, we need more swords to vanquish the dark one

I'm still here and wanting to be involved. Work has turned into a monster, and I don't anticipate being able to post much today, tomorrow, or through the weekend.
If you want/need to get the game up and running despite this, please do. If that requires Jak being a late entry, a temporary NPC, or being dropped, I"ll understand.
Hope everyone's doing fine and enjoying the fall.

I have the opposite problem: the purified water system is shut down at our plant (I work as a QC chemist), and without any purified water to make product with, there's no product for me to do any testing on. Work this week has been a lot of internet surfing (including a lot of refreshing this thread), so I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to have a new distraction to focus on in my boredom.
Sorry to hear that work's being rough for you, Jak!

The extra weaves known mechanic is cool for wilders but what about us initiates who have actually been trained and taught? I did the starting 8 and then I did two weaves per level known for each level after first based upon training. Funny enough with wilders gaining 1 per level from "figuring out" weaves and then 1 for each level minus 1 for weavesight ones, i only have 1 extra weave known over an equivalent level wilder even though i have been trained lol. Let me know what you think Jonasty.
@jasmine: where did you figure out this info? i went looking and couldnt find it anywhere...
@DMJ: If the above quote is true, then i, being an initiate as well, should have some more weaves as well...

You may reference my above post to Jasmine as well in the number of weaves you should have, that's fine.
On another note, Pace and Jasper you both have in your builds ranks in the Invert skill. This is a Lost skill and as such you would not have access to it during general character creation. Please redistribute those ranks accordingly. This skill will not be off-limits forever but more than likely this will be something that must be learned in game through RP.

Using Weavesight to determine strength in the Power (from Prophecies of the Dragon supplement):
As a Full Round action a channeler can make a Weavesight check to determine if someone of the same sex can channel the One Power and if so their relative strength. This check can be retried to attempt a better result although it may only be made once a day per the individual being checked.
DC 15: Determine whether or not they can channel
- Hitting this DC lets you know if the subject has level(s) of Initiate or Wilder, although it doesn't tell you how many or of what class.
DC 20: Determine the general degree of talent
- Hitting this DC gives an approximate idea of the strength in the One Power of the subject in relation to you. Add the ability bonuses of the relevant channeling class abilities you use(Int+Wis for Init, Cha+Wis for Wild) plus the number of levels in channeling class(es) you have. Compare this to the other person's likewise score. If the subject's total is 4 or more less than yours they are "weaker" than you. If they are within 3, then they are "about the same" as you. If they are 4 or more higher then they are "stronger."
-Example using the PC's: Jasper's "channeling strength number" would be 12 (Int bonus 4 + Wis Bonus 3 + 5 levels of Initiate) while Pace's "number" is 9 (Cha bonus 2 + Wis bonus 3 + 4 levels of Wilder). If Jasper made the DC 20 Weavesight check against Pace, he would know that Pace is "about the same" strength in the Power as him.
DC 25: Determine the precise degree of talent
- Hitting this DC is similar to the DC 20 except rather than a vauge stronger/weaker result, you receive the actual number in comparison to yours. Note that you only get the total number, not the actual breakdown of how it was reached. Using the above PC example again, if Pace made a DC 25 Weavesight against Jasper, he would know that Jasper's number is a 12 versus his 9 but he wouldn't know how Jasper managed to get the 12.
Jasmine: As the only multiclass channeler, just fyi you add all 3 ability bonuses to your "number" when this check is made.

I thought I'd throw this out there as a quick request, just in case it comes up in the future.
I have not yet read past Knife of Dreams, so none of the Brandon Sanderson penned books. I doubt anything in the main thread would spoil it for me, since the game takes place prior to said novels, but it might come up here. So if you guys don't mind, anything related to Wheel of Time post-KoD, please put in spoilers so I can avoid it.
I've been re-reading the series, rather slowly and really taking it in. In fact, I'm reading it while listening to the audio books, reading the chapter summary on Encyclopedia WoT (with annotations for now since nothing post-KoD has come up yet, though I probably should stop to avoid spoilers there), and reading the Tor.com re-read as well. I'm only through The Great Hunt, so I have a long way to go.
I'm doing this because the books have sort of melded together for me and I've forgotten many characters, especially in the book 6 through 9 time frame. Plus, I am planning on waiting to read the finally three books until after they have all been released in paperback so that I can do so all at once.
Thanks for being considerate of this!
TLDR: Please don't post spoilers about the last three books. If you do, put them in a spoiler tag. Thank you!
Alathea Sedai

I feel for you. I just finished up my re-read of the series a month ago or so, and I did it for the same reasons. I guess that was to be expected, though, since the last time I'd read the earlier books was back in the mid '90s when I was in high school, lo these many years ago.
Enjoy the reread! I got a lot out of mine, and I hope you do too.
Jasmine: As the only multiclass channeler, just fyi you add all 3 ability bonuses to your "number" when this check is made.
I was wondering if this was legal to do, and had I known, I might have taken a mix of wilder and initiate myself. No worries, though, I like Alathea as she is!

So I'm doing an ongoing conversion of the WoT game to Pathfinder and I've run into an interesting question. I'd love to hear your input.
The Warder's blade and the long blade that the Shienarans wear strapped across their backs. Are they the same or are they different?
Personally I always thought the warders blade was more like a katana while the Shienaran blade was more like a traditional hand-and-a-half blade (or what I've always understood to be called a bastard sword).
Also, I can't think of a single reference to a rapier in the books, but they're in the WoT rpg book. I guess I can see them being placed in Ebou Dari (with all the armor-less dueling), but it kind of feels like squeezing in a story that doesn't really fit the over-all sword thematic of the series.
Thoughts?

I was looking through the Wheel of Time Wiki the other day, and came across the entry for the Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game. The last section on the page is about Jordan's reaction to the Roleplaying Game, and says he was unhappy with the execution of the project, due in part to WotC trying to put in D&D-friendly stuff that didn't fit in his world.
Knowing that, I think that in doing a conversion, you'd be fine leaving out stuff like rapiers that aren't referenced in the novels. Think of it as a way of making it more accurate to what Jordan would have wanted!
And hey, if you decide that you'd like to change things to fit better with what is in the novels, I noticed that the rules for healing a stilled channeler (page 177 of the RPG) don't quite reflect the way Jordan's said it works, in that the strength of the healed channeler is dependent on whether they're healed by a channeler of their gender or the opposite. Severing also looks strange: as far as I can tell with how the rules are written, even a full circle of 13 Aes Sedai can't cast the 12th level weave required to sever a male channeler without using angreal/sa'angreal (it's of great concern to Alathea!). I'm sure there's a lot of other little things that could be fixed, but those are the ones that jumped out at me.
As far as the Warder's/Sheinaran's swords go, I'd make them different. I've never considered one to be a katana and the other to be a bastard sword, or to correspond to any specific kind of historical sword at all, but I imagine that the traditions and training for each blade is different, so they'd be different weapons.
