Take a look at the SFS Guild Guide, page 24. Under the 'All-Factions Boons' table, there are various levels of hireling boons you can purchase with fame points depending on your reputation tier.

To buy one, note which boon you're buying on your chronicle sheet and deduct the fame point cost and you're set! It's pretty much the same as buying equipment for your character where you would list what was purchased, and note the credit amount spent on your chronicle sheet.

Or if you prefer, you can tell me what boon you want to buy and I can note it on your chronicle sheet for you.

I just remembered that we never discussed the gifts that we got as a group earlier - did anyone take the huchket rifle? Longarms are not useful for me. There were also three mk 1 healing serums that we should remember to use if anyone gets hurt.

As far as the serums go let's just divide them among 3 characters unless anyone objects...the two operatives (Remi and twik) and myself..will all carry a serum. Naboh might be the only one who can fire the rifle with any accuracy ...but if he doesn't want it give it to Sev to hold.

Sev is proficient in longarms, but Naboh may be the better shot (Sev is +3 = +1 BAB +2 Dex). If so, he should carry it.

I see that most of the flurry of posts yesterday were mine. I didn't realize that I had posted so much until Twik pointed it out. (Thanks Twik!)

I apologize for the exclusion. This is my first PbP on these boards (and my first in well over a decade) so I am still learning some of the customs, conventions, and etiquette.

This game has been a lot of fun and I am eager to explore and push ahead. I appreciate the reminder to consideration should be given not only in the content of the post, but also in the frequency.

I'm fine with the "push-ahead" principle in general, but I think it was going a little fast. It's nice to have a chance to react to events in-character, and if the scene shifts when most of the party hasn't had a chance to post yet, they're forced to either do it retcon, catch-up post style or just let it go.

I am massively enjoying this scenario though, and all the roleplay and interactions, so keep it up! I hope everyone else is having as much fun as I am. :)

For doors in PbP, it can be a good idea to setup a standard procedure so that you don’t need to wait for players to respond and can just bot it. For example.....something like this.

Assuming no time constraints....

The player with the highest perception searches the door by first listenining and then checking for traps. (usually by Taking 20).
Next, if necessary, the person with the highest Engineering disables the trap (usually Take 10, plus possibly some Aid Another’s if anyone else can auto succeed).
Finally, repeat the previous step but to unlock the door (ie T10 Engineering plus AA’s).

If everyone takes 20 or 20, then no rolls are needed.

Yep, absolutely. For future doors, we'll assume Id takes 20 to search a door, Twik takes 10 to disable and unlock, with auto-assist from Naboh and Sev.

It’s probably because mind thrust is a mind affecting effect and these robots are immune to mind affecting effects (ie they don’t have minds to affect)

1st off GM bigboom I want to thank you for the best Starfinder scenario I've played yet! I mean that from the bottom of my heart; this one. is out in front by a large margin! Not only the material (which is solid); But, I really dig your fast style of PbP and your narrative is simply superior to many Pathfinder GM's ...this is only my 6th Starfinder scenario but, has been hands down the best. And baring a spectacular ending, beats my second favorite (cries from the drift) by a large margin. (and that is by no means a derogatory statement against that scenario or GM..I just feel this one has been sooooo excellent!)

However, I do have a small request. Could you please initial and date my Alien Archive boon, when you send out chronicles? I'll need an email or a google drive shared folder to drop it to you.(maybe you could just make the folder you share the chronicles in editable?) But, I'd like to get it signed off on because after I'm through with The first Mandate and Cries from the drift I'll have the necessary scenarios to get my first boon race! Yeah..

I’d also like to reiterate what Padme has said. I’ve played many many PBP games over the last few years and this one has been top notch. You have done an amazing job. I’ve also just signed up for one of your OutPost tables (I think it was 1-02 Fugitive on the Red Planet, and there are still two slots available - love to see some of you guys fill it up!) with this character since it seems likely we will be finished by then. (Although, still being Level 1, he is going get a makeover now that I have finally got my hands on my overdue legacy race Boon)

Also, again like Padme, I’d like you to sign off my Alien Archive Boon. It will be my first sign off so you can just start with a new one.

Lastly, can anyone tell me what the “True Saviour of Taisch” boon does that many of you are using instead of day job rolls? I don’t have a day job with this character so it seems like a useful thing to get my hands on.

This will be my fifth scenario (almost there for the alien archive boon!) but they were all on pbp and I haven't gotten any of my previous GMs to initial it - I might need to go hunting some people down. Oops.

Lastly, since it seems we’ll be wrapping up soon, thank you all for the game! It has indeed been brilliant. I love the “first contact” theme to begin with, and the GM and players have made this one excellent.

Great game everyone! This was my first PbP game in a very long time, first for SFS. I really only figured on using PbP as a way to get Sev to 3rd level so I could play him in an upcoming face-to-face game, but it has been such a great experience, that I have sought out other PbP games and have made even more characters for PbP games! Really, thanks to each one of you for making this game so much fun that I've been wanting to do more. (Signed up for the limit at Outpost).

I'd be pleased to be at the table with anyone of you again.

Kudos especially for GM Bigboom for stepping up to GM and for keeping things going. I've already played 1-02 and I am in the process of playing 1-04 via PbP, but I'd gladly accept an invite or opportunity to play in one of your games again. I haven't played anything that came out after 1-05. Also, I've created a few new SFS characters that I'd love to run through one of the evergreens should you offer one of those again. (One of them is Naboh's cousin!)

Just curious, for the folks working on the alien archive boon, which race are you aiming for? I’m planning to go ryphorian, likely an envoy, but I haven’t decided on which subspecies to pick yet.

Definitely rhyphorian. Triaxus has long been one of my favorite planets since Reign of Winter. Jumped for joy when I saw I could earn a rhyphorian character.

As for the success conditions, the primary success condition is returning the historical records to the Lorespire Complex, which you successfully accomplished.

The secondary condition is establishing good relations with both the husk and the membranes. The husks were impressed with your party's dancing skills and Remi's roll was so impressive it counted as a double success - hence the invention of the 'Rustle'!! The membranes were impressed because most of you were able to partake in their fine dining experience without vomiting.

As a result, everyone has earned the full two points of fame. Because this is a Wayfinder themed scenario, everyone also earns one extra Wayfinder reputation point. Congratulations!
