Apologies for the absence. This campaign seems to have wandered off my campaigns tab.
Alistair takes his snowshoes from his pack, "Amazing how I leave the harsh colds of the north to explore a warmer world, and end up caught in the middle of all this. At least it feels like home."

Cadell doesn't know much about snowmen other than they look stupid. Usually. He takes a small rock and throws it towards the ice sculpture. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 and drills it in the face. Take that he mutters to the falling snow.

I am still here. Just been trying to figure out where my character sheet went. I have to rebuild her. At least she is level 1.
Also been busy with squaring stuff away before police academy.
Still paying attention even if I don't always say anything.

The snowman is not evil. All is quiet in the wood.
And here is the map link again since we seem to be on a new page.

Sten stares hard at the snowman, trying to figure out what the faeries game is with this. Not knowing what else to do he looks to go around the problem all together.
"I would suggest we avoid any obvious traps that may have been lain for us by going around the path here. Just a few steps out of our way may save us all the trouble and heartache."
Sten does not trust this whole area not to be one big giant trap, the snowman, the frozen creek, the legs, none of it.

Watching his new found companions wander off toward the questionable snowman Vic states loud enough for all to hear,
"I remember building armies of snow men as a child, usual ones don't stand up to a barrage of projectiles while 'extra fortified' withstood more...just saying..."
Vic begins looking for rocks large enough to throw and cause damage...

I am not sure where anyone is walking. If you leave the path, it is difficult terrain requiring a double move for each square.
If you are walking around the snowman, by how much (how many feet)?
Or are you heading off into the deep snow?

Keith S. |

You will still encounter the iced over creek.
What is your order (or plan) as you cross that?
And how far away from the snowman are we talking? 30 feet? 300 feet? Just need a general idea.

BoulderShoulder |

My plan was to push down around that tree line the tree line on the right side of the map, should keep us 20' to 25' away from the snow man. Cross the ice shelf and push past the legs before making our way back to the path on the other side.

Keith S. |

Boulder comes to the edge of the ice covered creek.
How far behind are the rest of you? Give it to me in feet, as opposed to at a distance

Keith S. |

Victasys sees something moving under the ice....perhaps just a ripple of water? But he calls out a warning and Boulder comes to a halt just before he steps onto the ice.

Keith S. |

Nothing pops out of the water, nor is anything evil in the water that you can detect.

Keith S. |

Who crosses the ice?
What is in your hands?
How close to the water's edge will everyone else be?
And will there be weapons out or ???

![]() |

I'm crossing tied to the rope and I am going to try to make the timing and location a surprise in case something is lurking under the ice. Free hands, no weapons. Mill around and then bursting sprint to an area we weren't standing near, downstream at the map edge. Try to cross quickly.
Can someone roll survival to make sure I'm Not plunging to my death.

Keith S. |

The ice looks slippery for certain.
Worse, there appear to be thin spots, as if the stream is not yet well frozen.
As if, for example, it was summer a few days ago.
And Alistair reminds you that falling into water that is near freezing, in an area that is 10-15F ambient, would be bad. Possibly very bad.
And that doesn't even cover what you might have seen moving under the ice. No idea what that might be.

Keith S. |

Ianto is about halfway across the (slippery) ice when, without warning, two lumps of ice swell up to attack him! Growing arm like appendages they swing at the gravedigger!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 to hit for the first
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 to hit for the second
but both miss!
Party is up. Ianto stands with no weapons on ice. the rest of the party is 15 feet back.
To move onto the ice takes a double move. For that matter, to move through the deep snow takes a double move except for Alistair with his snowshoes (nope, not metagaming at all to bring snowshoes on a summer time adventure!).
Your foes AC is 16.

Cadell, hopeless in a fight such as this, stays firmly on solid land and away from the water. He shouts to the grave-digger Look out!. Then bravely steps back a few feet.
Conditional action- if any creatures come behind us or to shore, I'll attack with my dagger.

Keith S. |

Ianto - are you moving past such that you accept two attacks of opportunity?

Keith S. |

Two attacks of opportunity against Ianto (as a note, it is two creatures made of ice, not one creature with two attacks).
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 to hit
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 to hit
damage for the one hit is 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 and Ianto needs to make a DC12 fort save vs. numbing cold, or be staggered
save vs Taryn's slumber 1d20 ⇒ 13
Victasys' crossbow shot missed!
Need Alistair and Boulder to go.
