Arcavic grimaces at the sight of dead humans. That's two villagers we can't save... he thinks to himself. The dead hobgoblin, however, suggested that the Ironfang weren't responsible for this rockfall, however. Arcavic turns his attention to the stone blocks, studying them for signs of being worked.

Lillie uses her eighth legs to move over the first pieces of the rockfall to check the stability of the ceiling

You don't notice or turn up anything new. You are able to move through the gap easily as long as you walk in single file.
You move on into a wide, natural cavern is eighty feet across and nearly as tall. A wooden bridge once spanned the forty-foot drop to the stone floor below, but it has apparently collapsed, leaving no easy connection between the mine tunnels to the northwest and southeast.
Lillie takes a look at the walls, trying to judge their climbability.

I can cast Bulls strength and airwalk and ferry the party across if need be.
Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)
It's about 30 feet. It's present on the map, although the map has a bridge drawn across it.
The walls look like they should be no problem to anyone with a climb speed.
"That is likely the best solution, although an alternate is that we all jump off the cliff at the same time. I'll slow our fall to the ground below. We walk across the base of the chasm, then Lillie and Korvak climb up while I levitate myself and Arzool. You would either climb or airwalk, whichever you preferred."
I always wanted to propose jumping off a cliff as a viable solution to solving a problem - and playing a Drow does that!

Korvak looks over the area, trying to judge if he thinks he could climb it.
"I like the jump and land with magic idea, the climb well Lillie is probably alot better than me, she could lower a rope?" How high is it from the other side, do we have enough/any rope?
In case it wasn't assumed, Korvak stores 2 point of ki in his ring of ki mastery.
Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)
The bottom of the pit is 40 feet down from both edges.
"we should save our magic powers till we truly need them. I could climb to the other side, attatch a rope and you could climb along the rope "
"I'm not too concerned with the expenditure of my abilities - I'm a rather poor climber, and these likely won't be of much use in a fight."

You guys need to decide what you're doing here before we can move on.

"Whomever has the rope pass it to me please we need at least 80 ft, I'll start lowering people down, Lillie should go last as she can untie the rope and climb down and we can go again up the cliff with Lillie climbing up then tying off the rope." Korvak takes any proferred rope and ties it off.
Arcavic shrugs. "I don't have any rope, sorry. I also fail to see how Arzool is going to climb the rope."
I don't know if any of us has rope, but you don't have rope and I don't have rope, and Arzool can't climb rope. Let's just jump and I'll use feather fall to make us all land safely. Then I'll levitate myself and Arzool up.
Female Lizardwoman NG Medium Female Lizardfolk 7th level cleric of Gozreh/1st level Skald
I agree with Arcavic on this.

Korvak gets ready to jump then.. "Let's do this..Lee!!"
"On the count of three then. One, two, three!"
Arcavic leaps off with the others. Once they have done so, he immediately activates his ability to slow their fall.
Feather fall SLA. Should get us to the ground safely.
Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)
Ok, guys, go ahead and narrate what you do. I'll move us on when you guys are back up on the other side. You may also move your map tokens across.

As the party leaps form a cliff, Arcavic activates an ability of his Drow lineage, catching them and causing them to fall to the floor as soft as a feather. Once they safely land on the ground, he confidently strides forward, then activates another of his in-born abilities and lifts Arzool up the 40 feet the the other side of the chasm. He then does the same to himself.
I moved myself and Arzool.
edit nevermind do not want to change what arcavac is doing. I'll simply add that I ride Arzool down and up as he is more than large enough and has a saddle.

Just waiting to hear from Lillie before we move on.

I'll give Lillie a few more days, but I think we may have lost her.
GM Redelia wrote: I'll give Lillie a few more days, but I think we may have lost her. I know of a reliable player that would love this game (and poke me when I'm not posting enough in RL) if it turns out to be true. I'd rather keep our party though.
Lillie jumps down with the others and begins to climb up as Arcavic levitates Arzool, ready to assist with the horizontal movement of her levitating allies.
taking 10 to climb. Sorry for I though I had already posted, last weekend was kinda hectic

With a bit of magical assistance, your entire party gets across the gap. You move on through a winding passage where the wind whistles loudly, into a room that was clearly an office. A mine cart is tipped over the leg of a human, trapping him. A dwarf is nearby, clearly weak from fatigue and hunger. They both turn to you, looking like they are afraid you are hobgoblins come to hurt them.
Arcavic looks at the human and dwarf, then says, "Greetings. Despite our appearances, we are not here to cause you harm or pain. Are either of you from Radya's Hollow? Would you like some food or water?"

Korvak not being the diplomatic type but being the compassionate type walks up to the mine cart and tries to remove it.

Working together, you get the cart off. The miner who was under it seems terrified, perhaps because of your races.

The miner searches Valasca's face for a moment, and then nods. "Without help, I'm a goner, so it can't hurt to try."
Any response to my earlier question?

The miners wordlessly nod in response to Arcavic's offer of food and drink. They seem to be too tired and beat up to say much more right now.

Korvak will help Valasca , even if he is not doing much, it's good to give a helpful intent off.
"Nice healing energies, that even made me feel a bit better."
Arcavic gives them food and his waterskin as Valasca heals the two men. If they show hesitation, he will show them it isn't poisoned by eating and drinking some himself.
Once they have their strength back a bit, he again asks, "Are you from the village, Radya's Hollow?"

Which miner are you healing, Valasca? The one who was under the cart seems badly injured from that; the other looks like he had the worst of a fight.

Both miners visibly relax as Valasca's ministrations make them feel better. "Yes, we lived in Radya's Hollow. When the hobgoblins came, they forced us to reopen the old mines. We saw almost no signs of the old mine collapse, so the hobgoblins didn't believe us about the danger. Then, suddenly, everything collapsed again, the same way it did before. We couldn't get out."
Arcavic nods. ”We were told about the collapse. Are there any other survivors down here who may be trapped? Any of the Ironfang left alive?”
