I need to wait for more than two of you as there are eight dragoons
Beth Macara
Did someone call for Chaotic?
The quiet Obi suddenly grins and tips his hat to the fighting man, his fingertips beginning to sparkle a multi-colored hue.
Not sure the correct term, but Obi is basically looking for an opening, so he can Color Spray the group of dragoons.
Putting a hand on Morgan as he tries to reach the dragoons, Beth whispers. "Whoa, don't attack the dragoons. Let's be more subtle and try hider them without them noticing."
Beth will try to put herself out of sight of the dragoons before casting Fog cloud right behind Falken Drango to mask the direction he'll take. Then she plans to get the hell away without being noticed :)
brvheart
Obi casts Color Spray catching three of the Dragoons and the Dragoon sorcerer in its arc DC 13:
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
None seem to be affected. Beth casts fog cloud between the dragoons and Drango.
Roll Initiative!
--Sandman--
That DC should be 15, not that it matters. I swear brvheart, your enemies have some seriously uncanny luck.
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Sandman sighed. He didn't particularly want to end up in a colonial prison over a man he didn't know, but he also couldn't stand by and let his friends get dragged before the magistrate, and probably hung, for aiding an escaping convict.
He shook his head and rolled his hand around in a lose fist, sand gently raining down. It was an old Tulita gesture of good luck.
That fog cloud gives those that can a chance to disappear into the crowd. I think it would be a really good idea not to let the local law get a good look at us right now.
Fortune Hex on Obi (since he's the one they're probably going to go after). Next round, you may choose one roll you need to make, and roll twice taking the better result.
As a note, spell like abilities don't necessarily have any kind of outward sign of use, unless the spell effect has an obvious outward reaction. Unless the dragoons know what they are looking for (knowledge arcana check) they probably wouldn't be aware that Sandman has taken any kind of action that would concern them.
brvheart
You are correct, I read his sheet wrong. I thought they were darn lucky and was looking for 2-3 of them to fail their saves.
Obadiah Read
Yeah...I have to say, I wish that Obi was not so crazy sometimes, because I don't always agree with what he'd do. But, sometimes your character makes crazy decisions. Probably, had I gotten around to the posting earlier (and of course, checking the thread), he might not have done it. But yeah, it is amusing what hijinks ensue with Obi.
Obi's use of the fortune hex will be to bravely run away, away! And that will likely be using a combination of retreating and using Acrobatics, since the docks have plenty of ropes around.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
First roll looks great.

Initiative Order:
Sandman
Beth
Silas
Falken Drango
Obi
Dragoons
You are up Beth!
brvheart
Just one question. Was Beth out of sight of the Dragons when she cast her spell? If so, I guess she can't see what's going on with Obi.
Moving through the crowd, Beth tries to get as close as possible to the front row to see the captured pirate.
With that as your original stated intent I would state that she can see the dragoons and Obi clearly. She should have a good view of what is going on.
--Sandman--
I'm first? That's weird. Sandman used Fortune Hex on Obi. Is that still the round we are on?
brvheart
I was figuring with what all was going on your Fortune Hex would be the first action of round one. Kind of a close call, if you disagree and feel you could get off another action then do so.
--Sandman--
No, that's fine. I took an action. Everyone else should get to go before I go again.
Beth Macara
No problem
Gathering her cloak around her and turning her back to the dragons to avoid them getting a good view of her, Beth casts a second spell and another cloud of fog appears, this time around her.
Using the cover of the fog, she lower herself and tries to melt into the crowd.
Standard action: casts Obscuring Mist. Move action: Stealth 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22, plus the bonus for the mist total concealement.
Silas Frey
Silas continues to move wide having shown no indication he's doing anything connected with that mad man. Under his cloak he casts Ghost sound emitting a loud crack on the pier. DC 12, but it might work
brvheart
Falken Drango continues to move through the crowd ascending a shipping ramp to the street using the mist for cover. He is now 90' from the Dragoons. Another round and he will have made good his escape.
Obi is up.
brvheart
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dragoon will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Dragoon will save sorcerer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Dragoon will save sergeant: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Three of the dragoons and half the crowd miss their will saves vs the ghost sound on the dock. Panic ensues as people are pushing, shoving to get off the dock. Others are jumping off into the water. The sergeant is yelling orders to stop Drango, but the panic makes that about impossible, at least this round. All they can do is the three others fire into the air in his general direction which only causes more panic!
Sandman is up for round two.
--Sandman--
Sandman chuckles to himself and does his best to stay out of the crowd's way.
Delaying my action. This looks like it's pretty much resolved. Hope they didn't get a good look at Obi.
brvheart
It wouldn't be that hard as he would be within 60' at most. What do you plan to do when you get there?
brvheart
Drango will nod in the affirmative before disappearing out of sight into the crowd around a corner.
brvheart
I received an email from Marty late last week that due to work he will have little time for the PBP game. He has completely left our ftf games. I am not sure if he will be able to post at all from here on out.
brvheart
Ok, well I had divided the XP by six, but since Jequette looks to be gone everyone gets another 212. So what is everyone doing now that combat is over?
Beth Macara
We've got two things to do: get ready to storm the drug dealer's den and before go and talk to the escaped captain. In the mean time, anyone wants to try to find the half-tulita or should we try to get extra equipment for our next attack?
Silas Frey
I would agree on wanting to level up before we do that cove. I also think either we need to find another focused mage player or we need to figure out some tactics amongst ourselves as I'm worried we'll have issues dealing with some combats.
brvheart
So where is the party going now? And what are they doing before they meet Drango tonight?
Beth Macara
Rejoining the party, once out of sight of the dragons, Beth breathes heavily and raises her hand, palm out.
"I know, I shouldn't have suggested that, but the thought of a captain murdering his whole crew does not make sense. And Obi, attacking the dragoons directly was not the best idea ever as well. That said, we'll see if we meet Drango again what's his story about it. If he's innocent, we can gain a good ally and if he's guilty, we'll never see him."
Pausing to get the attention of the others, she asks: "What now? I guess we need to stay out of sight of the law for a few moments, especially Obi, but myself as well. Shall we try to track the half-tulita in the less reputable parts of the town?"
