Ok, I am going to roll everyone else's init.
Initiative Silas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Initiative Sandman: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Initiative Obi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
brvheart
This makes the init order:
Barrett and Blister
Beth
Sandman
Silas
Morgan
Obi
brvheart
Barrett moves to C1 and attacks Beth with his Great Axe
Greataxe: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 201d12 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
brvheart
Blister attacks Morgan/Tiki short sword: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 4 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5.
I presume that is a miss?
--Sandman--
Sandman moved forward shaking his head. "No. You should stop."
Hold Person, DC 18
Beth Macara
Beth winces as the axe connects with her.
Beth will delay until after Sandman spell.
With rage, Beth scimitar punctures the immobile dwarf for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 = 18 Coup de grace, Fort DC 28 or die, then she steps 5 foot to the side to D2, ignoring the steps difficult terrain.
[b]"You think you're so superior with that big axe. You killed my brother in Quell and you will pay. You don't even have a proper footwork and your left side is unprotected, that will be your doom."[/ooc]
Beth scimitar moves past the dangerous axe, trying to puncture Barrett.
Free action agile feet: ignore difficult terrain for 1 round.
[ooc]Move action, activate freebooter's bane versus Barrett. Every one is at +1 attack/damage vs him.
scimitar attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25, damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7, then she steps back 5 feet upstairs to E1, ignoring the steps difficult terrain.
Tiki Tohoraha
Yes, you will take a d6 damage from the fall from not making the DC 15, but what is worse you take an AOO from the half-orc you jumped through his threat zone!
[dice=Blister attack in B6]1d20 + 8 + 4; 1d6 (falling)
Nevermind, he rolled a 1 so you only took 5 from falling but are now prone Tiki.Tiki is in B5, Blister is in B6.
Just a couple questions:
* So did Blister not drop his weapon with that roll of a natural 1? I can't remember how you handle fumbles - didn't Barrett roll a 1 against Tiki in the Tavern in the first fight?
* Why is Tiki prone? It was Morgan who jumped/landed. After that Morgan Merged into Tiki.
Silas Frey
Silas puts down his crossbow and draws his rapier moving from the valve to the trapdoor, down onto the stairs then jumps to the floor.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
If Barrett is down then
If not then
Jequette Nikkia Stromburgous
I think I got skipped somewhere?
Reviewing the actions taken thus far, moving to a position to take Blister into view. Jequette calls forth words in the spidery language of magic once more and pointing her long thin fingers at Blister cast and release three shimmering colored darts (magic missiles).
3d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) + 3 + 2 = 12
brvheart
Let's start with Barrett's will save Will: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 = 16
Sorry Jequette, yes I missed you. You would need to move to the western wall.
@Morgan I know I don't quite understand this Tiki thing, but isn't he around your neck normally so if you are prone so is he? I am presuming the vats are steel same as the pipes. Wood would not hold up to acid long!
brvheart
Silas, that is difficult terrain moving under pipes and around vats, but you can make it in a double move.
Morgan and Obi are up. They are both in 1.
brvheart
Round up at current
Barrett dead
Blister in F2
Jequette cast Magic Missile above on west wall
Sandman cast Hold Person is above
Beth D1 Couped Barrett
Silas in D6
Morgan/Tiki prone in E2
Obi above
Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall
Holy sh&t folks - nice work on Barrett!
Actually, double checking it is a full round action to Merge:
As a full round action you can spend a point of mana to place yourself inside one of your tikimen, taking control of the construct as if under the effects of a magic jar spell. This transformation includes all of your gear. While merged in this way, you are protected from harm and cannot be the target of spells or effects. All effects and spells currently targeting you are suspended until you emerge from the tikiman (although durations continue to expire).
You can cast spells while inside the tikiman by taking control of the construct for the duration of the casting. Any material components used for these spells are taken from your gear, even though they are otherwise inaccessible. You can direct all of the tikiman's actions while merged, can perceive through its senses, and can speak through its voice.
You can remain within the tikiman for a number of rounds per day equal to your yohunga level. You can end this effect at any time as a swift action, emerging in a square adjacent to the tikiman if able. If the tikiman is destroyed while you are merged with it, you are immediately ejected, take 4d6 points of damage, and are stunned for one round.
* Basically, when Tiki is a necklace/amulet he hangs around Morgan's neck. When Morgan Merges, Tiki drops to the ground with Morgan inside him.
Last Round: Given that it was impossible for Morgan to Merge in the previous round, Morgan will stand from prone as his Standard Action rather than Merge.
This round: Morgan will either cast burning hands at Blister (DC 15, reflex for half)
It's Hot in Here: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 2) = 9
OR
If this would hit Silas Morgan will instead draw and then overhand chop with his war-oar:
Oarful Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Faceful of pain!: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
brvheart
That would not hit Silas but standing up from prone provokes:
short sword AOO: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 4 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
brvheart
Obi is up. Blister has now been hit by magic missile and burning hands.
brvheart
Obi casts Hydraulic Push on Blister CMB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16.
Blister is wet, but not prone. Obi moves toward the trap door.
Blister attacks Tiki short sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Jequette Nikkia Stromburgous
Since I may be out of pocket for a bit, I'll post my action. It should not impact Beth's actions.
Beth Macara
Finding her way through the vats, Beth moves to E3 to stand shoulder to shoulder with Morgan and attacks Blister.
scimitar attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20, damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Silas Frey
Silas realises people are not where he thought they were so moves back to F3. He flashes his blade to trip up Blister.
Trip attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 = 26
brvheart
Blister is prone and at this point you will note just how ugly this half orc really is!
Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall
Ok, NOW an overhand chop with Morgan's war-oar on the prone half-orc:
Oarful Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Groinful of pain!: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Fantastic.
--Sandman--
Sandman shakes his head at the impressive violence meted out by his companions, and moves to support them.
Readied action, hit Blister if he tries to get up.
"You should surrender, friend." the big man says with a concerned note in his voice.
Readied Action: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6) + 4 = 14
brvheart
I have a hard time seeing Blister surrendering so your readied action goes off, putting him down.
XP 666 each.
Morgan, Sandman and Silas make perception checks.
--Sandman--
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
brvheart
Behind the small worktables A DC 15 Perception check discovers the white gold and sapphire Ring of Quell jammed in the gaps of the walkway.
Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall
Morgan points the ring out to Beth.
Beth, I am so sorry…
He turns away, checking the bodies of Barrett and Blister for armor, valuables and weapons, casting detect magic on both of them.
Silas Frey
Silas notices the ring, but leaves it for Beth to retrieve. He reaches into his pack to pull out the stuff he found in the barrel. Walking over to the table he puts down 600 gp, a fake eye made from a sapphire of exquisite quality, an emerald brooch, a silver and mother of pearl signet ring of the Church of Quell with the initials “A. N.” engraved on the inside of the band, three pearl necklaces, and a thick gold bracelet.
brvheart
Barrett's axe and chain shirt detect as magic. Only 5 cb bolts detect on Blister.
Beth Macara
Beth nods gravely, fight gone from her eyes. "Thanks every one, I did not really expect to find him alive. And with that acid here, there won't even be a body left. But it means a lot for me to have you help my Church and I will repay that help as best as I can."
Picking both rings, she says a quick blessing over them before calling softly to Quell. "Your faithful follower has been killed, his body defiled to prevent him from joining you. His murderer have been dealt with but I swear to you this is not the end. I will find who ordered it. Quell, father of storms, let the winds of vengeance carry me to those who have earned your retribution."
Turning towards her companions she says: "I don't think Barrett decided on his own to kill my brother in Quell and he may have been asked or paid to do it. I can't talk to the death yet but I can ask Zalen to do it if we keep the corpse intact I think. And that is something I can do if I ask Quell for it. I propose we keep the corpse here and dump the ugly half-orc into his own acid vat. Then If you live me a quarter of an hour, I can cast a spell to preserve the dwarf corpse until we can interrogate him. Then we'll have to rush to the governor meeting.
Beth has still an empty spot to learn gentle respose and cast it on the dwarf. It will take 15 min
Lootwise, we also have 100 extra gp from yesterday's fight with the smugglers
brvheart
The second ring found is magical. You find something strange on the body of Barrett. You notice a ring shaped scar on his chest like that of a tentacle.
Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall
"This sounds like an excellent plan Beth. I don't mind waiting, we will likely have to rush to meet the Governor either way. If we keep Barrett's belongings we might consider keeping them hidden or changing their appearance somewhat to help disguise them - if there are those in league with Barrett at the Governor's audience they might recognize such items...."
Morgan strips Blister of all his mundane armor, clothes, boots (if any) and valuables and then asks Sandman to help him dump the half-orc in a vat to see what happens.
He then pokes around the room trying to find a portal to the Barnacle's cellar.
Perusal: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9
As for the magic times, Morgan can use either the chain shirt or the axe, though perhaps Obi or Beth might like the chain shirt, and Beth could use the axe also? Morgan does like his traditional weapons, but some better armor is always nice…
Morgan has no use for crossbow bolts.
Beth Macara
Beth can use the chain if it's better than her +1 one. As for the axe, it's not really useful for her, she needs her scimitar. If someone with spellcraft can try to identify the ring/chain shirt/axe, we'll know more.
"Before you dump the body, can you check it for a scar like that.", says Beth pointing to the tentacle like ring scar on Barrett body. "That just reminds me of the organisation Archibald was looking into. The ring of the Kraken, they were called."
Jequette Nikkia Stromburgous
Fort Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
"If you don't mind I can aid in detecting what the items are and appraise the other loot if you like?"
Axe 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Chain shirt 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Bolts 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Ring 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
"It seems the ring is beyond my ability today, however, I might beable to delve deeper with another spell tomorrow."
Appraisal...
fake eye made from a sapphire of exquisite quality 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
emerald brooch 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
silver and mother of pearl signet ring of the Church of Quell 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
brvheart
+1 keen greataxe, +2 chain shirt, + 1 bolts
fake eye made from a sapphire of exquisite quality (500 gp), an emerald brooch (200 gp value), three pearl necklaces (100 gp each), and a thick gold bracelet (100 gp).
Beth Macara
Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Can Beth detect why we needed a fort save ? Could it be because of the fumes ? heal check in necessary: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
