XP for dealing with Tame=1000 each which means Ivar and Uraisa should level.

A treasure hunter under the command of Captain H’ongr Hy’y’yth ii’ Smiles, the Greed of the Razor Coast, a female lizardfolk fighter/duelist who likes to eat live rats.
This two-masted sailing ship has a broad hull and a high aft castle. Her sail depicts a monstrously bloated gull with an unpleasantly human expression of hunger on its face. Two rowboats are tied to the rear of the ship, and six six pounders are visible on deck.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu chuckles. "Does Silas really need another ship for his fleet, ours not even out of the harbor."
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
another ship is not a bad Idea, I will be a captain one day Seeing the two masted ship Ivar ask, "Do we want to sink her or do we want to board her, Nothing wrong with a fleet, even if we scuttle her there would be plenty to add to our own vessel." looking out into the water he adds, "I could swim over and take a look around or board from the other side while Captain Mercy distracts them. probably wouldn't be hard to send a boarding party and cut off the head so to speak."
couple people flying, couple people under water and the ship off of the bow,
Oro-Tu |
"Yes. We could hunt them, assuming these men are a blight on the land of my people, I would gladly do it. Uraisa is wise. The predator culls the herd, and does not fight it head on."
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
A treasure hunter under the command of Captain H’ongr Hy’y’yth ii’ Smiles, the Greed of the Razor Coast, a female lizardfolk fighter/duelist who likes to eat live rats.
out of curiosity, the captain is lizardfolk, do we know if most of her crew is or would they be mixed races of piratey types?
blight or no blight, their fair game Ivar, with a carnivorous smile nods his head in agreement "Landing and taking them one-by-one works. Before we get too far away, should I swim over and scuttle their rudder so they cannot leave immediately? It would give us time to hunt them down."
Silas Frey |
"Do we need to deal with them to land? Is there another place we can anchor up? That's probably the first concern because if we have come all this way for nothing then we have no choice but to deal with them.
"Second question after that is how does Captain H'ongr know of this isle or is it by chance? Captain Mercy, your thoughts on that?"
Capt Mercy |
"Not from me nor me crew I tell ya. All I know is I am not sharing my treasure... I mean... our treasure with anyone much less the likes of this lizardess! There is another bay about nine miles to the west.
All I know of the inhabitants of this island are a race or four armed gorillas."
Beth Macara |
Beth squints at the words of the captain. I'm not going to let you out of my sight. That was not a slip of tongue., she thinks.
"Right Captain, let's move to your proposed bay. We may want to walk back this way to check what these lizard-men are here for."
brvheart |
The charred remains of a sailing ship lie in the clear waters here. She lies on her port side, and clearly sank after burning.
brvheart |
The hull is badly weakened so it can be breached relatively easily.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
as a side note, how does the FISHHOOK OF THE HUNTER thingy work "If the bearer enters a body of water, the fishhook attracts sea creatures nearby equaling the wearers Hit Dice; the sea creatures are friendly and will do the wearers bidding" do I call then or do they just show up?
Aurora Shadowbane |
blight or no blight, their fair game Ivar, with a carnivorous smile nods his head in agreement "Landing and taking them one-by-one works. Before we get too far away, should I swim over and scuttle their rudder so they cannot leave immediately? It would give us time to hunt them down."
I think this was a wise idea, but for some reason I cant put my finger on, Capt Mercy is hiding something and doesn't want us to look on that ship, I think she knows them better than she is letting on and they are part of her plans and we encountered them too early so now she is rerouting us to give them time to get away. So now we are looking at this ship, what happened to her old ship, whats the moniker on this one, is it her's and does anyone know who it belonged to? I like the idea of spoiling a lizardfolks day anyway.
Perception to see the name; Sense motive on Capt Mercy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Profession Sailor to know the ships history: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
So I ready to disembark after Ivar finishes, I have been down in sick bay working on the jar with the hand in it, I have it almost restore completely and i putting it in a stasis web to hold it while were gone and in a jar of preservative. When we get back that way, I will need some way to catch him asleep while I give him his hand back, so when he wakes, he wont know who did it, he will just be happy he has it. As for the ship, need to move it up behind some rocks or trees to give it camouflage so it wont be seen. We don't want to end up like the ship Ivar is looking through. Also, might want to unchain our rudder temporarily so it doesn't go anywhere while were gone too. Does anyone know anything about the name of that ship, who it belonged to and its history?
Silas Frey |
Who is coming ashore with us if Silas and Mordecai are staying here? And we should look to make a move. We don't know if Captain Smiles knows about the treasure."
Beth Macara |
"Hey, are you going to let Ivar explore the ship on his own ?", calls Beth as she see the Ulfen dive overboard. "What if something happens to him?", she adds as she climbs over the bulwark and dives after him.
Beth will follow Ivar's lead, using a light spell to light her way into the hull.
Uraisa Ellsworth |
Uraisa nods at Beth. She lowers herself to the side of the ship, and shifts form into that of a saltwater crocodile as her grip relaxed and she went over the side. She took a large snoutful of air, before heading after the cleric.
brvheart |
Beth, you will need to breach the hull or swim to get into the hold as the ship is laying on its side.

FISHHOOK OF THE HUNTER
Aura moderate conjuration and transmutation; CL 8th
Slot neck; Price 20,000 gp; Weight —
This necklace is woven from tough fibrous cord tied
to an ancient Tulita fishhook carved from whale bone.
The fishhook grants the wearer a +4 enhancement to
his Constitution. Once per day the wearer can summon
a large fiendish shark or 1d3 fiendish crocodiles as per
the spell summon monster IV. If the bearer enters a body
of water, the fishook attracts nearby sea creatures of an
amount up to the wearer’s Hit Dice; these sea creatures
are friendly to the wearer and will do his bidding.

I think the manta cloak gives AC bonus underwater but not positive, might help.
It does give a +3 nat armor bonus but since he cannot exactly use his shield it balances out.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
why can't I use my shield? The description says his arms can be free. Also if the hook has drawn the eight "friends" as soon as Ivar is attacked he would ask them to help stop the attackers.

Silas Frey |
Is there any sound of what's happening over there? Is it underwater or inside the hull?
"Captain Mercy, can we wait for the others to return first before we set off. By all means let's get ready, but you want all of us there for what we face."
Leialoha |
Well, the base DC is -10. I'm pretty sure we're trying to make the check through the equivalent of a 1-foot wall so that adds +10 to the DC making it a DC 0 check. It might also qualify as unfavorable conditions due to the water which would add another 2, making it DC 2 (it probably doesn't qualify as terrible conditions since I think the weather is calm). After that it comes down to distance. +1/10 feet. Not sure how far we are. Assuming I've calculated the rest roughly right, Leialoha would hear as long as we're within 240 feet. If they are underwater, its going to be more difficult.
brvheart |
Well, that is the issue being able to see or hear what is going on. It is both underwater and inside the hull. Kind of like the kid game Marco Polo. If you are underwater you can't hear the Marco and vica versa. Will check the rules for it.
brvheart |
init spawn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
There are no rules for hearing underwater except with water breathing.
