Okay, then. We check everything on this floor, go upstairs and do the same, and if we don't get killed, we'll have our dear Maffei lead us downstairs.

Hoga hunkers by the next door, axe ready. He gestures to Kyras to come do his usual checks, augmented with Detect Magic.

"Yeah, I agree headed up is our best bet don't want no baddies sneak'in up on us as we're walk'in down there in the dark." Hernvet follows them to the next door.


Opening the last door, you find another dormitory. You make your way around, inspecting the cubicle to see if anything important or of value was left behind. You have cleared the first half and are about about the to de second when you notice two things. The first is that there is a set of stairs in the back of the second half that climb to the second floor. The second his that there is two malignant clouds of shadows boils in the air, their skeletal maws eerily babbling as the creatures claws manifest from the darkness.

Will save DC 15 before you do anything. If you fail, you suffer from the terrible Babble effect!! (see spoiler]

Babble:

Babble (Su) An allip constantly mutters to itself, creating a hypnotic effect. All sane creatures within 60 feet of the allip must succeed at a DC 15 Will save or be fascinated for 2d4 rounds. While a target is fascinated, the allip can approach it without breaking the effect, but an attack by the allip does end the effect. Creatures that successfully save cannot be affected by the same allip’s babble for 24 hours. This is a sonic, mind-affecting compulsion effect.

Kyras decides to wait for the enemy to get closer before acting. The two creature floats toward the group, attacking the first one in the front. Their ghostly hand clawing at the Hobgoblin. Hoga uses his wand to shock one of the creature. He then drops the wand and gets his axe out.

Kyzen tries to move past the target, but the undead creature manages to prevent the maneuver and score another hit against the Geokineticist.
