Kimberly was hanging head first inside the crate she was looking through her feet dangling in the air when he hears Anna's shriek and something about spiders.

I told you there might be... Her sentence cut short at the sight of the floating heads.

Those are not spiders. Kimberly lets out a little shriek of her own and yells something in celestial holding her holy symbol over her head.

there is a black glow around Kimberly's hand and a wave of Pharasma's divine energy washes over the party guiding their actions closer to Pharasm'a will and the destruction of these presumably undead things.

They are undead Shrieking Medusa Heads.

Strengths:
-Creatures bitten by a shrieking medusa head must make a DC 16 Fortitude save or turn to stone for 1d4 rounds. Targets immune to poison are immune to this effect.
-Once every 1d4 rounds, a shrieking medusa head can open its jaw and emit a bone-chilling scream. Each creature within 30 feet must make a DC 16 Will save or be shaken for 1d4 rounds. This is a sonic mind-affecting fear effect. Whether or not the save is successful, an affected creature is immune to the same head’s scream for 24 hours.
-Capable of swooping past their victims and biting them during the pass. They don't need to stop and hover to attack. (Flyby Attack)

Weakness:
-Not especially weak to a particular form of attack, but they are undead, and share traits similar as all undead monsters.

Just need Andejela and/or Danica's actions. I'll bot the last if needed.

Round 1
Anna moves quickly, drawing and slashing upward with her dagger. The dismbodied head takes the slash across the side, cutting through the cheek and ear, leaving a portion dangling grotesquely. Then, reacting to Tolvans shout, steps away directly to the east to make room for Tolvans magic.

Tolvan reacts almost as quickly as Anna, readying to cast his Glitterdust spell at the heads trying to blind them. As soon as Anna steps back Tolvan's Giltterdust spell blankets the two heads. The northern head twisted and bucked in the air, avoiding blindness but now glittering like a pixie. The southern head stares mindlessly as the glittering dust coats it, covering the eyes and rendering it blind.

Botting - Andjela moves west to try and get a clear a shot as possible, drawing a releasing with skill.

The first Medusa Head opens its gaping mouth even wider and lets out a horrific scream which reverberates throughout the entire area. All - I need a DC16 Will save or be shaken for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds. FYI: This is a sonic mind-affecting fear effect.

The blinded head sort of wobbles as it struggles to remain airborne, head twisting and turning erratically as it tries to orient itself in complete blackness. It apparently decides to move NW, banging it's face into the wall and biting at the uncaring wood to no effect. However, it seems through bashing it's face into the wall, it's managed to clear up some of the glitterdust on it's eyes, and it turns a baleful look at the nearby Anna.

Anna backs away, the fear clutching her heart. She pulls out her heavy crossbow and shoots at the nearest head but the shot is errant, her fear making her hand unsteady.

Tolvan shakes off the effect of the scream and moves for a better shot then fires an arrow at the wounded head, striking another glancing blow.

Botting Andjela steps west once more, and releases another arrow, this one striking solidly and tearing yet more dead flesh from the monsters face.

Danica lets out another ear-piercing scream at the non-blind shrieking head. It reverberates, visisbly, and when it orients itself it seems nearly defeated, but not quite.

Botting Kimberly steels herself and releases another blessing on Pharasma, this one in the form of a red-rimmed wave of holy energy, which ripples into and through the medusa heads violently. That same wave passes harmlessly past Andjela. The wounded medusa head shudders as the energy rips through her, and then falls to the group like so much carrion.

The first Medusa Head remains fallen.

The previously-blinded head maintains it's hungry gaze on Anna, and swoops in at the rogue, teeth gnashing and biting. But as it swoops past, trying to sink it's putrid teeth into her, Anna's defenses hold, and the bite fails to land. Continuing it's motion, the head swoops back away from Anna slightly, eyes searching for a more bite-able target.

Andjela reluctantly drops her bow, and rushes to flank Anna's opponent, her curved blade whistling through the air. Unfortunately, the blade does indeed catch only air, the head ducking slightly at the last instant to throw off the powerful blow.

Danica moves up to help Anna with the last shrieking head and takes a swing at it with her temple sword, and connects solidly, the head boxed in on three sides now.

Botting Kimberly reaches out and touches Danica's back, infusing her with a small portion of Pharasma's guiding power. Cast Guidance on Danica

The first Medusa Head remains fallen.

Hemmed in like it is, the head reacts to the stimuli presented it, turning it's jaws on Danica this time and it darts in to try and bite her. The monk is far too agile for the bite to land, the pointed teeth snapping together on empty air.

They made a pretty effective trap though, I have to admit. I am not sure its worth digging through all this stuff now. Who can say how many more dangers are in this room. Lets move on.

Kimberly keeps a bit of distance from the chopped up heads not wanting anything to do with gore of their remains.

Ooop, I'd forgotten as well. You're currently exploring up the hidden stairs. So the downstairs where the Golem came from was the direction proposed earlier. Not to mention the last place to explore in the building.

Moving back to the room with the Mummy and the Mimic, you skirt the corpses that remain and cautiously move down the spiral stairs located there. Three large crates sit in the room, now empty. Three large, sealed, opaque black glass jars sit inside the room.

One crate contains traces of rust, the second minute smear of sticky green residue, and a small segment of tentacle sits in the bottom of the third.

Well, if we're stopping for the night, maybe we should block the door upstairs. She'll move up the spiral case and again check to see if the corner door is secure. Then, if it swings out, she'll start piling things in front of it. If it swings in, she'll use the chains to keep it in place.

No sense in letting anything come this way easily.

Food and wine, and comfortable beds, and unseen servants are there along with greater safety and comfortable studies and such. Anna can help us all across again and I have magics that can aid us if one of us should fall.


There is no magic detected inside the impenetrable darkness of the jar.
