Tolvan
Tolvan obliges Danica, concentrating on the pearl for a moment. His face tightens and then relaxes as the memory of the spell comes back to him. He quickly casts the simple magic, renewing Danica's Mage Armor for the next 6 hours. He then backs off and prepares to cast an offensive spell at any enemy appearing. Open one of he sarcophagi. he says resigned.
Anna Dunsany
Anna positions herself 25 feet away from the sarcophagus, if possible, with her crossbow trained on it. She swallows hard and tries to control her breathing.
Anna Dunsany
I've positioned myself using the corner of the curio cabinet for cover, if need be.
Andjela Daywalker
Stowing her bow, Andjela gives everyone a moment then steps to the end of the stone... coffin. I don't think I can open this myself.
She gives it a try.
GM Mug
Giving the door to the Sarcophagus a pull, it's suddenly pushed open from the inside with incredible force and Danica and Andjela are faced with a shuffling creature wrapped from head to toe in ancient strips of moldering linen. Its arms reach out for Danica and Andjela, grasping horribly. Suddenly, on the east end of the room, the other Sarcophagus rattles loudly as it grows long, glistening tentacles and a number of sharp teeth along the seem of the 'door'.

Whoops! Meant moldering, not smoldering. Changes the meaning a bit doesn't it? :)
Andjela and Tolvan recognize the mummy and some of it's strengths and weaknesses.
- Undead immunities
- Vulnerable to fire
- Has an Aura of despair affecting all nearby who see it
- Can bestow Mummy Rot, a curse and disease affecting ones health and apperance.

@Danica, since you saw the evidence of recent activity I'll allow it. All - In the future let's try to avoid the retro actions as much as possible. I'm sure casting that before opening the coffin was Danica's intention all along, but obviously retro-benefiting yourselves will be problematic for me if its a regular thing.

@Mug - Much appreciated. Wasn't expecting to open the coffin right away. Wanted to post one action at a time, first one was giving the Pearl of Power to Tolvan for Armor casting.
Anything on Inquisitor Monster Lore 31?
GM Mug
Danica confirms what the others suspect about the Mummy's weaknesses, and recalls some insights on the other Sarcophagus-creature.
It is a Mimic.
I just assumed you were checking out the Mummy cause that's what everyone was looking at. Didn't even occur to me till a min ago that you were trying to analyze the mimic. Whoops!
- immune to acid
- A mimic exudes a thick slime that acts as a powerful adhesive, holding fast any creatures or items that touch it. An adhesive-covered mimic automatically grapples any creature it hits with its slam attack. Opponents so grappled cannot get free while the mimic is alive without removing the adhesive first. A weapon that strikes an adhesive-coated mimic is stuck fast unless the wielder succeeds on a DC 17 Reflex save. A successful DC 17 Strength check is needed to pry off a stuck weapon. Strong alcohol or universal solvent dissolves the adhesive, but the mimic can still grapple normally. A mimic can dissolve its adhesive at will, and the substance breaks down 5 rounds after the creature dies. The save DC is Strength-based.

Round 1
Anna's attention turns to the thing behind her and she snaps off a bolt before moving into the first room. The bolt slams into the unprepared monsters body solidly, squelching out black blood. She draws her hand crossbow as she moves. Once she gets to her desired spot the full import of the Mummy's visage overwhelms her, and she freezes in place.
Tolvan, ready for some attack, casts his Flaming Sphere spell, creating a ball of fire that appears on the creature wrapped in ancient strips of now-smoldering linen. Shaking off the mummy's terrifying aura he takes a few bold steps towards it.
Danica takes her flaming temple sword and takes a mighty swing at the walking rags. The sword cuts through a few rags, as Adjela's did, but the flames seem to catch hold a little on the undeads 'skin'.
Andjela turns away for fraction of a second, a heartbeat. But, then she musters just enough courage. "You are abomination and I smite thee!" Drawing her runed elven blade she slashes! Her blade does't seem to affect the undead creature as a few linens fall away, but Andjela knows she had some strength behind the strike.
In sudden fit of fear Kimberly seems unsure what to do, her instincts kick in and all she does is close her eyes and a burst of divine energy radites out from her tearing through the mummy. The mummy see's the holy energy coming, but is unable to avoid it's effect, the holy power coursing through it. Kimberly, there's been enough discussion about Andjela's status that I want to clarify something. Should I start assuming you're always excluding Andjela from channels to deal damage to undead?
The Mummy turns its empty eyes on Danica and her flaming sword, stiff arms rearing back and slamming forward into the monk with impossible speed. -11hp Danica and I need a DC16 Fort save or take -4con and -6cha from the mummy rot curse.
The Mimic moves in on the paralyzed Kimberly, the girl completely paralyzed with fear, and lashes out with its tentacles. Two slam into her and snag there, stuck fast. One tentacle slowly releases, leaving behind a deep bruise on her arm, and the other tentacle remains in place. -11hp Kimberly and you're grappled.

Seeing that her sword did not cause the damage that was intended Danica calls upon the power of the Dawnflower to give her Smiting Judgement. Swift Action.
Smiting: This judgment bathes the inquisitor’s weapons in a divine light. The inquisitor’s weapons count as magic for the purposes of bypassing damage reduction.

I'll update as soon as I get either Andjela or Kimberly's R2. I'll just bot the other person. @Danica - that's fine. I asked for it now originally, so rolling it now isn't a problem.
Tolvan notices the Mimic is slightly larger, as a Sarcophagus, than 'chest' mimics he's researched before. It has spare tentacles to attack with even as it holds the paralyzed Kimberly tight.

Kimberly is paralyzed for 3 rounds.

"Kimberly!" Tolvan calls out as the mimic attacks her. Unsure what to do he decides to try to bring down the mummy with a volley of Magic Missiles -which slam into it with unerring precision- and then steps over to present another target to the mimic, pulling his longsword as he does. He continues to mentally direct the flaming sphere to continue it's assault on the mummy, a large section of it's torso burning to a crisp. There are cuts and burns all over this creature, and it seems to struggle to hold itself together.
Danica notices the mimic from afar and decides to continue the engagement with the undead rags. She takes a short step diagonally. "Andjela...flank it." Seeing that her sword did not cause the damage that was intended Danica calls upon the power of the Dawnflower to give her Smiting Judgement. "You are a most foul creature. You offend the Bright Lady with your presense." and with that slices right through the undead monsters head, the entire mass crubling into a dusty pile on the floor.
Andjela I'll let you adjust your action since the Mummy is dead.

Mummy down, Andjela cautiously approaches the animated curio... curiosity. "Hey... Let the girl go." and slices into the monsters 'torso' with the swing of the sword. However, the creatures body seems to be oozing a sort of adhesive muck, and the sword threatens to remain lodged in its side. DC17 Reflex save to keep sword from getting stuck fast to the monsters body.
The Mummy's diced and burned linens remain in their chaotic pile.
The Mimic keeps one tentacle wrapped tightly about Kimberly, and lashes out with another apendage at Andjela! It slams into her and immediately that same adhesive ooze seeps around and into every crevice of Andjela's shoulder, and hardens almost instantly. Adjela -13hp and you're grappled.

Round 3
Anna snaps back into focus, hearing that Kimberly is in trouble. She bounds back into the fray, noticing the position that Andjela is in. She flips into position opposite her, tumbling up while drawing a dagger and slashing once flanking. The cut spills more hot black blood across the floor, and Andjela jerks her weapon back quickly to avoid having it adhere to the Mimics body.
Tolvan gestures mentally and the Flaming Sphere obediently bounds over to burn the mimic. The monster jerks back away from the hungry flames, avoiding any damage from the sphere. It is less successful, however, at avoiding the magical bombardment released by Tolvan, and it visibly staggers under the barrage.
Danica jumps back to her original position, taking a step SE. "These creatures are known to have a glue like substance. Magical and long range attacks are best." Seeing that close quarter combat might pose a risk the inquisitor again calls upon the power of Sarenrae and unleashes a sonic scream. To her friends Danica just screams at the mimic "Release them" but to the mimic the sound is deafening and deadly. To the groups surprise, or perhaps not, the Mimic seems to get buffeted by the scream, tentacles releasing Andjela and Kimberly and flapping backwards as if subjected to a sudden powerful gust. Then the mimic and it's multiple appendages droop, and it topples slowly over with a 'thump'.
Combat Over! Kimberly did not seem to be any more damaged than the initial blow from the Mimic.
After a few moments, Kimberly recovers from her earlier fear.
