Danica Quinn
Danica also surveys the area, offering any insight to her friends.
She casts Guidance to get help from her diety.
Perception, Guidance: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 17 + 1 = 28

After ascending the path, you had to descend roughtly 10' to the doors. When the doors opened, the water inside drained somewhat, but is still below the level of the top of the stairs. I hope that helps.
Tolvan notes the water is still and doesn't appear to be getting replenished from anywhere. If the engineers tools are in the water, they're not visible in the immediate area. Tolvan and Danica note that the collapsed stairway to the north seems deliberately collapsed, rather than an accident.
Danica Quinn
Danica communicates to the others about the collapsed stairway, that it looks deliberate. "Either someone set the collapse to keep others out or it was set to keep them in. I guess we will soon find out."
Tolvan
The wizard looks apologetically at Anna. There could be people trapped in here. he explains. The water is stagnate, and not replenishing. Lets get our feet wet.
I was asking if we had seen any supply of engineering gear anywhere so far, since we know engineers were here to work on something. If there were some piping it might be somewhat simple to pump the water out over the course of a day…
Anna Dunsany
Anna just looks dejected. This guy collects monsters. I will lay good coin down on the fact that there will be water monsters in there.
The perks up with an idea. Those figures! Is there any way we can use them to get around this mess? What'd we have, a goat, a horse, and what else?
Tolvan
Three goats. One you ride cross country, one, fights for you, and one you ride into battle. Something like that anyway. I do not think they can help. And yes, we may have to fight water monsters. But I see no help for it. With that Tolvan begins wading into the water.
Kimberly Snow
and I am not to fond of swimming Kimberly adds a bit bummed.
I'm sorry I'm being such a burden on you guys. I guess I do my best and swim if I need to.
Danica Quinn
"Whoa tough guy." Danica places her hand on Tolvan's shoulder to stop him from moving forward into the water.
"We can't afford you being the 1st to get attacked. You can follow behind me." Danica goes before Tolvan into the water, moving cautiously and slowly.
Tolvan
Tolvan allows Danica to take point. Either way. They seen equivalent to me. He casts detect Magic to see if he can pick up any auras.
Danica Quinn
Danica takes a gold coin out from her coin bag. The coin is simple and plain with no markings on either side. She flips it in the air and the gold coin begins to spin as it makes its way down. It lands in her hand and she places it on her forearm. "Heads we go east butt end we go west." She raises her hand revealing the plain and bare coin. "East it is."
Danica lead the team east.
GM Mug
Danica leads the other eastward coming to the corner and seeing some doors to the north just five feet around the corner. You proceed cautiously through the debris filled murky water.
Kimberly I need a DC10 Swim check to stay with the others.
Anna Dunsany
Trapfinding: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
I don't like this. There could be anything swimming around in this water. Or disease. Or...that pit trap you're about to fall in! Danica, step back!
Tolvan
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
I see it too. Is there a way around it?
I am not really sure how big Kimberly is. She is 12, right? She could be 5' tall at 12, but if she was this would not be an issue I guess. Could Tolvan carry her?
Kimberly Snow
Kimberly is about 4 and a half feet tall
swim DC 10: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Kimberly slips into the water sinking nearly to her neck.
ohhh...cold... she struggles to keep up with the others quickly falling behind.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Anna Dunsany
*looks around innocently *
All right, move aside, Anna instructs as she wades over to the trap while Kimberly splashes about.
She examines the trap from the surface while pulling out her tools. Then she takes a deep breath and goes under to try and disable the trap.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
Tolvan
But what was in there???
Tolvan hooks an arm around Kimberly's waste and pulls her to him. Hang on. he says. I will have to turn you loose if we fight.
Danica Quinn
"Nice job Anna. Everyone, back up a little. I will put some weight on it to be safe." Danica puts some weight onto the trap to ensure it is safe for the other to walk on.
When she is confident about the trap then she will continue moving forward.
Kimberly Snow
Kimberly refuses Tolvan's help. No, I have to do this, I'm tired of just being a burden on you guys. I want to carry my own weight for a change.
Kimberly is very adamant she feels guilty always being the one that slows everyone else down.
Please Pharasma, help me. she whispers as she tries to keep up swimming.
swim again with Pharasma's guidance: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
GM Mug
Third time is a charm.
You walk (and swim in Kimberly's case) past the disarmed trap, and notice the double doors around the corner are partially open. Opening them wide you step to the edge of a large circular chamber, which is empty save for dark water. Two doors sit high up the walls (10' above you) to the north and west, with metal rails extending from them for less than a foot before terminating abruptly.
GM Mug
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
You should roll once for both spoilers.
Kimberly Snow
perception DC 15 and not a chance: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Tolvan
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Ware the drop off there. Tolvan says, oblivious to the threat.
Andjela Daywalker
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Hmm... What could have caused that bridge to fall? Strange place.
Anna Dunsany
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
After checking out the water, Anna takes a few steps back, then tries to jump up to the railing above her.
Acrobatics DC 24: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 I don't believe I need to clear 10 feet, just jump up high enough to catch the railing, which should be only five or so feet above her head, right?
Tolvan
Tolvan will move back and give Anna a hand up. I do not like being in this water and would prefer to explore from up there. If her leap fails he will suggest. Use the rope.
GM Mug
*gapes* I did not expect that. I sometimes forget you folks can jump. :)
With incredible agility and without much hesitation, Anna leaps up out of the water, the surface tension and water-weight weighing her down some, but the rogue will not be denied. She manages to grab onto the cut calkwalk with both hands, and dangles there, water droplets dripping from her feet to the water below, some stray splashes catching each of you in the face.
Tolvan
Seeing Anna hanging from the catwalk Tolvan will use his dimensional shift ability to teleport up onto the catwalk beside her and help her up. Lets get the rope down for the others. he says.
GM Mug
The short sliver of catwalk only extends roughly 12 inches from the wall, and it just wide enough for Tolvan and Anna to squeeze onto, side by side. The door up there is closed.
It just occurred to me that the jump is 15' across and 5' above Anna's head. I believe Anna's acrobatics check is still good enough, but wanted to make sure everything that just happened is still possible based on this clarification.
Danica Quinn
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Danica attempts to jump as well.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Anna Dunsany
It's pretty clear Anna doesn't want to hang around the water much. She's quiet as she pulls out the rope and hands it to Tolvan, then inches along the wall over to the closed door. She'll check for traps before opening it up.
Trapfinding: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
GM Mug
Anna detects no traps, and during her inspection see's the door is unlocked. Danica makes the leap herself and dangles below Anna and Tolvan, the water on their pants dripping down into her face. Opening the doors reveals a short hallway, with a rubble-filled stairway leading down. Once they're open there's room to pull Danica up to the hallway as well. It's clear the group has reached the other side of the collapsed stairway. There's another door on the west end of the hallway, similarly closed.
Andjela and Kimberly remain waiting down below in the other room.
Tolvan
Was clicking on the combat map which did not show the room we are in. Where is the deep part of the water in the room? is it in the middle and can be walked around, or does it more bisect the room?
Anna Dunsany
You going to get those two up? Anna asks, impatiently.
She examines the hallway, then looks over to the northern door. I'll check that one out, she offers, then inches along the edge to study that one.
Trapfinding: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Tolvan
Tolvan commands the Rope of Climbing to secure itself to the landing and knot for easy climbing. Come on up. Kimberly first.
Kimberly Snow
Kimberly swims to the rop as best she can and tries to climb up.
climb: 1d20 ⇒ 1
swim check if needed: 1d20 ⇒ 6
She tries to get to the rope barely making it. she grabs the rope tried with all her might to pull her wet self up. but the water has made her hands slippery. and she falls with a splash.
Arrrrrrgggg she cries out in anger at herself, she is tired of failing her friends, unable to do the simple tasks. She is about to cry when suddenly she gently lifts out of the water floating on the air up to the ledge. the look of amazement in her eyes Thank you Pharasma she says glad she has not been abandoned.
after failing the climb she cast levitate to get up to the ledge this is the first time she ever cast it and she wasn't even sure it would work hence the surprise.
GM Mug
Hold that levitation thought. Once you hit the deep water and sink, some things happen...
**EDIT** After a second look, the DC to climb a knotted rope is 5, and you'd have to roll a 0 to fail by 5, which is not possible. So you just make no progress on the climb, but do not fall. You can levitate or not, as you like. But you don't fall into the deep water... Lucky for you.
Kimberly Snow
I was going with the...never got very far (or out of the water even)
climb again: 1d20 ⇒ 20
OK talk about extreme's maybe she did levitate but just thought she was climbing
Kimberly Snow
if it helps, I keep a link to the map in my header

Paladin's encouragement...
Seeing Kimberly climb up, Andjela tries to follow, not getting far.
