Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah |
Kelvor opens the door and rushes in.
Rene Duquesnoy |
Kelvor opens the doors.
An enormous machine takes up the majority of this chamber, its various complex and seemingly illogical components made up of a combination of stone and black wood. Half-engine, half-gnarled dead tree, the tendrils from this otherworldly device crawl up the walls in every direction as if to choke the chamber that holds them. A faint sound like that of a breeze rustling through leaves can be heard coming from the machine.
Inside, you see 3 skeletons (kn:religion for info)
Kelvor: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Pribam: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Tarrow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Narvik: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Armun: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Pribam Pey |
Pribam wonders what he knows about the skeletons.
knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Narvik Drak |
Narvik thinks of what he might know of these creatures. Religion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Which is nothing so that didn't take him long.
Narvik, unable to move into the room, casts Bless. +1 to attacks and fear saves.
Rene Duquesnoy |
Nailed it
Pribam knows they are bugbear skeletons.
* channel resistance +4
* dr/5 bludgeoning
* immune to cold & undead traits
* broken morningstar or 2 claws
* fast healing 1
Pribam Pey |
Pribam calls out, "Use the earthbreaker and other blugeoning weapons on them!"
Pribam Pey |
On his turn Pribam will begin to recite the parable of The Abomination to inspire the Pathfinders.
perform(oratory): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
"Then Razmir raised his mighty morningstar and bought it down squarely upon the head of the Abomination!"
Add +1 to hit and damage, so with bless everyone is +2 to hit +1 to damage.
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah |
Kelvor, seeing the skeletons, rushes in to the nearest undead creation, swinging his earthbreaker in a mighty strike against the thing.
Pwr Atk: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 13 + 2 = 28 Dmg: 2d6 + 21 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 21 + 1 = 34
MAX DAMAGE! WOOT!
I'm not sure how much access I'll have throughout today, so... here's my somewhat generic post for when my turn rolls around.
Tarrow |
Tarrow faces the undead creatures with grim determination, firing his crossbow. at Red
Point Blank + Rapid Shot + BardSong + Bless
Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + (1) = 10
Rene Duquesnoy |
I'm dumb, but should be sorted now
The bugbear skeletons go to the door
Green swings on Kelvor
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Kelvor smashes green dead dead dead.
Round 1
Narvik - bless
Skeletons
Pribam - inspire courage
* Tarrow
* Armun
Kelvor - killed green
Tarrow & Armun up
Narvik Drak |
When Narvik's turn comes he'll move forward as far as he has spaces available within his 15' movement rate. He'll stow the wand of bull's strength and retrieve the wand of cure light wounds from his wrist sheath as he does.
Armun Govil |
Armun casts Grease over the 4 squares where BLUE is standing, yet still keeping a path for the group to enter the room through.
DC 13 Reflex for the Bugbear Skeleton.
After that, he draws his longbow.
Rene Duquesnoy |
Tarrow peppers red with 2 bolts.
Narvik pulls out a wand.
Blue stands up
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Steps out of the grease, and attacks Kelvor
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Round 2
Narvik
Skeletons
* Pribam
* Tarrow
* Armun
* Kelvor
Armun Govil |
Rene, is that first roll for BLUE an Acrobatics check to not provoke from Kelvor? If not, then when it stands up Kelvor should get an attack of opportunity
Armun will fire two blunt arrows at the Skeleton
Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Blunt Arrow Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Blunt Arrow Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah |
"Friends, what is this thing?" asks Kelvor as he enters the room looking about at the odd machine.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Pribam Pey |
Pribam swiftly draws his wand of magic missile and shoots the remaining skeleton.
magic missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He attempts to discern whether the skeletons that have been taken down already are still fast healing.
Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18
Rene Duquesnoy |
It looks like the skeletons are down down dead dead.
Round 2
Narvik
Pribam
* Tarrow
Armun
* Kelvor
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah |
"Priest, do you believe these things are still alive?" asks Kelvor.
He walks up to the skeletons and crushes them with his earthbreaker.
Pwr Atk: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 2 = 34 Dmg: 2d6 + 21 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 21 + 1 = 24
Cleave: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 2 = 24 Dmg: 2d6 + 21 + 1 ⇒ (4, 2) + 21 + 1 = 28
Narvik Drak |
I somehow doubt that one will come back from that blow! Well done! Narvik will check to see that the skeletons have indeed expired, doing what needs to be done to ensure their demise.
Rene Duquesnoy |
Going to fast forward a little, so we can finish this
You ensure the 3 skeletons are dead. When you all move into the room, someone appears in front of you. She quick channels negative energy, then channels negative energy.
I need 2 will saves, DC 16 for half damage.
channel 1: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3) = 9
channel 2: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6) = 14
Heroes up.
Rene Duquesnoy |
She yells You will all die by the power of Calistria. She looks like Vos' lover Elessia.
Narvik Drak |
Will 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Will 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Ugh, really? My best save and I flub them both.
Narvik is almost taken down by the enemy's channels. He quickly taps himself with the wand of healing held in his hand.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Narvik will then step to the side.
11/25 HP currently.
Armun Govil |
Will Save 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Will Save 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Armun is also hit hard by the negative energy. As such, he moves away from the woman and casts Cure Light Wounds on himself.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Pribam Pey |
Will save 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Will save 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Pribam Pey |
Pribam's fury at the sight of the Calistrian priestess is palpable. "As Razmir struck, the foul lich's skull split asunder!" he cries, continuing the inspiring parable of The Abomination.
Pribam circles the priestess as he continues to tell the tale, pulling his mace as he steps up to her.
Tarrow |
Will Save #1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Will Save #2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Tarrow takes 4 points from the first and 14 from the second channel, down 18.
Point Blank + Rapid Shot + Bard Song
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 6 + (1) = 12
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1) = 8
Rene Duquesnoy |
Pribam: I assume your movement didn't provoke right?
2 bolts are stuck in Elessia.
Kelvor up
Tarrow |
Double crit threat!
Point Blank + Rapid Shot + Bard Song
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29

Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 6 + (2) = 14
If they confirm 52 points of damage
Pribam Pey |
Pribam: I assume your movement didn't provoke right?
Correct. He circled around to avoid the AoO and set up the flank for Kelvor.
Rene Duquesnoy |
With 2 bolts sticking out of her eye sockets, Elessia falls over. Her last thought is of puppies and ponies, and why didn't she just follow her father's footsteps as a cobbler.
Gear: wand of cure moderate wounds (12 charges), wand of invisibility (6 charges); Other Gear +1 chain shirt, dagger, light crossbow, mwk whip, chime of opening (5 uses remaining), silver unholy symbol of Calistria, onyx gem worth 150 gp.
You detect strong magic coming from a book hidden in the back of the room. Strong magic of all types. It is entwined in roots that cover the wall.
Pribam Pey |
Pribam draws forth what has been described as the wand of painful healing and taps each of the Pathfinders, including himself, with a charge before continuing. He repeats the spell for anyone who wants a second dose after that, including himself.
I assume that's ten charges, as everyone took a pretty hard hit with the channeling.
Armun Govil |
Armun will (perhaps stubbornly) refuse the Infernal Healing, instead using his own wand to heal himself.
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Satisfied with his own healing, Armun will detect magic and inspect the book.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Rene Duquesnoy |
Armun detects the strong magic around the book as well, but notices that the roots have burrowed into the book. Kn:Nature to figure out how to remove the book without damaging it.
Armun Govil |
Knowledges are my name, Nature is my game.
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Also, random birthday healing, to top me off...
Birthday Heals: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Rene Duquesnoy |
Also, random birthday healing, to top me off...
Nice!
You aren't sure, but since this is working together, I'll let someone assist you. Alternatively, a DC15 sleight of hand check will remove the book without destroying parts of it.
Pribam Pey |
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Pribam considers how to remove the book from the tree.
Rene Duquesnoy |
Pribam knows which parts of the branch are bendable, and pulls out the book. When you do so, the magic generated by the blackened tree ceases completely. The underground complex shakes due to tremors of rock shifting without the magical forces of the book. Slowly the building begins to collapse and you decide to high tail it out of there.
The book is Tessarael's Book of Infinite Spells (on your chronicle sheet).
You emerge victorious from Fangwood Keep, and realize that it may be a nice place to live. (on your chronicle sheet)
Pribam Pey |
"Thank you all, and thanks to Razmir for his aid in vanquishing these evils!"
