In case anyone is interested in Eloriand's story at the end of the last adventure, He was greeted by two thugs and the Priest outside of the door to the inn. Eloriand ducked back in to the inn and whispered to Isador to continue on while he tried to hold off the baddies here at the inn. Eloriand tried to position himself within the inn to limit the thug's ability to flank him, but it mattered not. They tossed the tables and benches to the side and assaulted him. Eloriand was weekened by the Priest almost immediately, but he still managed to take each of the thugs down. unfortunately each thug was almost instantly revived by the priest and Eloriand was eventually overwhelmed.

Brew, I wanted to let you know that you still had a scroll of silent image in Tarek's inventory. I updated his sheet on Paizo and deleted the item. Havelocck used one on the boat and the other in the stables of the last adventure.
I will purchase a bandolier before the party departs for their adventure.
I was reading about what retrieving a stored item entails. I do not know if that counts for items in a backpack but I did read that items on a belt(belt pouch) or items in a bandolier count as retrieving a stored item. The bandolier seems to be handy item.
At times when we are traveling through the city and Tarek leaves his pack behind, he will place useable items in his bandolier
BANDOLIER
Price 5 SP; Weight —
This leather belt is worn over one shoulder and runs diagonally across the chest and back. It has small loops or pouches for holding eight objects the size of a flask or small dagger. You can use the "retrieve a stored item" action to take an item from a bandolier. You can wear up to two bandoliers at the same time (any more than this and they get in each other's way and restrict your movement).

I was doing another search to determine how fame and prestige can be used in pathfinder. I think there are other options out there but here is a link that lists the uses: Prestige and Fame
copmc

I did read that character starting fame was 1 point plus charisma modifier. Is this true for organized play? I ask because your fame score affects the value of the items you are allowed to purchase. A fame of 5 only allows you to purchase items less than 500 gp but a fame of 9 allows you to purchase items under 1500 gp.

I do not believe that is how fame is calculated in organized play. Your fame score should start at zero and increase based on PP awarded on Chronicles. Double check the Guide to Organized Play to be certain. Also, the page you linked is for PP and Fame used in non-organized play campaigns. PP and fame use is spelled out in the guide to organized play. Vanity awards are available and can be found in books like these as subject to the guidelines posted in additional resources.
The Holidays are upon us and I expect posting to slow down a bit. I will try to sneak a post here or there if I can. I hope everyone has a safe and great holiday!

Merry Christmas everyone!!
Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!
I cannot express how great it has been to link up with you all again and to RP out adventures.
Oh, I just read the first 6 pathfinder comics. The art is not bad, but the story gives a real sense and feel of the main campaign world of Pathfinder. I assume the fiction novels do the same.
It has been helpful.

Hey folks. Just realized that PbP Gameday 3 games are set to wrap on Feb 1! Argh. We will have to step up the pace a bit in order to finish. I plan to post tomorrow morning at some point. If you folks have downtime, feel free to post an action as I will be moving the action forward in my next post. If there are any avenues you wish to explore while at the manner, please do so.
Merry Xmas all! (again)

Just to help save time you can add this to my game post...
Tarek swings in on a rope, saves the captured maiden and defeats her captors. He is praised by all of Sauerton and wins great favor from the Mayor. The society is now well connected to the coffers of the Andares family and the town has erected a statue of Tarek in honor of his wondrous deeds. The mission is complete and the Archons prepare for their next challenge. See how easy that was. I bet we can squeeze in another adventure before Feb 1st. *Grins* :-)

Brew, if you need to move us along then I'm all for it. I'm not tracking these other schedules but I get that there is at least one. I swear, you won't hear "You've completely unraveled my RP persona. I'm too emotional to continue." well, you won't hear it from me anyway.

I have a question for the GM and this may be of interest to Havelockk as well.
I have been reading to see what is available to certain factions and came across this:
Beacon of Good (Fame 5, 2 PP) The Shining Crusade gives you a shining wayfinder (see page 55) emblazoned with the emblem of a silver dragon. If you lose your shining wayfinder, you can purchase a new one for an additional 2 PP. Members of the Silver Crusade who are caught selling shining wayfinders for their own profit are exiled, and must switch factions.
Now I bet you're wondering what a shining wayfinder is, right? It wouldn't be much of a tease if I gave you everything, though, would it? Oh, okay. You've been patiently reading these for 17 installments now, so I guess I can give a bit more: a shining wayfinder functions like a normal wayfinder, but also lets the user cast detect evil at will and protection from evil on herself once per day.
That's all you get from me this week, though. No more. You're just going to have to wait until next Monday for me to talk about the fifth and final new faction: the Shadow Lodge! Have a good week, Pathfinders.

This seems fairly clear as to what the item is and what the cost is and who is able to get such an item. I have read over the forums and it seems that there is a different take on obtaining such an item. Some people are saying it is considered as a wayfinder upgrade and you need a wayfinder before owning this one. The thing that does not make sense is that everyone agree they are two separate items but still say you most own a standard wayfinder first.
If this is true then can Tarek buy a wayfinder for 250 gold? It mentioned that a wayfinder is half price for society members. Also, can I then sell the standard wayfinder after purchasing the shining wayfinder? It makes no sense to have both, but I can't find a clear ruling since there were a few recent changes to factions and those changes should trump the old.
It also says the faction gives you this item and nothing about paying for one unless you lose your original. Does the fame and prestige represent the requirements you need meet before they give you one or do you have to pay the prestige points to get it?

That is very interesting and such a tem would certainly be of benifit. I had no idea on this item existing and makes me wonder of the other factions have a item or soething to balance this out.
I think we go with hat we have for this adventure and then see how we wat to proceed.
Be nice to see the nice guys and good guys have a perk :)

I was looking again and players were calling any changes made to a wayfinder a "Vanity". I don't think that should apply to a shining wayfinder since it is a stand alone item, but there is a list of things you can change on your wayfinder
I also found this link that talks about spending prestige points. I don't know how much or if any of it applies to organized play. There are some interesting things like being a member of a temple or owning a business. These things allow you to use other skills like bluff or diplomacy to make day job checks.

Acquisition of items is governed by the rules set forth in the guide to organized play and limited by the rules listed in additional resources. In order to acquire the item, you must first locate it in an authorized source (usually core rulebook, supplement authorized under additional resources or off a chronicle sheet) then designate resources to acquire item in the presence of a GM. Copmc, where did you see that entry? If it is not on a chronicle or in a rulebook, I doubt the acquisition would be legal under the organized play rules.
| GM Brew |
Yes. Items may be acquired by the use of PP. Vanities are always acquired via PPs. Post the link and I will check it out. If it is in fact a legal item, then anyone will be able to grab it. PP are precious though. For purpose of scale, anyone can spend 2 PP to acquire an item of up to 750 in value through their faction as long as they have enough fame.

Folks,
a question on this. I admit I am a bit academically lazy at the moment, but after reading the blog/message board, it refers to page 55, but it is a bit unclear to me what source, book, or publication the device is specifically mentioned in, so that it can be checked or referenced as an approved additional resource.

I believe it is the pathfinder society field guide.
I find it a bit of a pain to try and figure out what is and is not sanctioned by the pathfinder society organized play. I also read that if you don't physically own the book then you can't use anything in the additional reference materials. I have one thing to say to that but think it is best not to post it.

Ok, now I understand the reference. That boon is available for purchase and is listed in the Filed Guide (which I do own) on page 22. The item description is on page 55. Actually a good deal as the item purchase price is 2000 gp, and generally 5 fame is not enough to purchase the item. Here is the text of the boon:
profit are exiled, and must switch factions.
