Uthred absorbs everything and then lets out a sigh..."Other than these five eggs hidden over here I know nothing of any of this. Not much help I'm afraid. I will go up and keep the genius orc company while you smart folks figure this stuff out." and the half elf then moves up to Harrows left flank leaving the others to discuss the eggs...

Harrow smiles broadly at Uthred.

"Harrow glad you see he genius. Because Harrow happen to see eggs, and also know that eggs are super strong snake eggs, ones that become super strong companion snakes. Oh, and Harrow also know this statue a dark naga. One that either really really big, or that they make look extra big."

The half-orc goes back to his work looking at the statue.

"Genius, for sure."

This dark naga seems to be depicted in a meditative posture.

Was the statue magical?

Harrow looks at the creature's posture and tries to see if there is somewhere to put incense or other offerings.

Nope. Not magical.

Tanbaru looks perplexed and remarks, "Strange, I don’t remember that statue at all."

Were did everyone else go? No one aside from GM and myself posting since last Tuesday...Harrow can't figure this stuff out! Totally out of character!

still here, no relevant knowledges so just awaiting for the story to develop some more.

The plot fairy will move things along a bit, shortly.

"Do you remember anything else? Lilli says looking at Tanbaru

"I feel like I should remember more. I also feel like that statue is definitely new."

Harrow frowns. "Maybe new naga group take over here," he says. "And build new statue."

Not seeing any reason to stay, he suggests they investigate the other side. East? Unless anyone else can think of anything to try with the statue.

"The statue, as you say, is new, but it is of the same material as the earlier construction," says Mareq, after examining it.

"Perhaps an interloper naga has taken over the temple and now desires obeisance. Husarq, go!" commands Mareq. "Seek further information about the temple and report back."

Husarq bows. "As you command, my Master."

The efreeti begins ascending the staircase to the statue.

Perception DC 26 may act in the surprise round. Stuff is about to happen.

Husarq looks around.

Harrow is the only party member who gets to act in the surprise round.

Three ophidian humanoids with scaled skin and one medium-sized snake come out of the shadowed crevices of this "Altar Room." The snake looks similar to the ones you faced in the courtyard.

"You going to regret attacking HARROW TATTERHOOD!" the half-orc shouts.

All four enemies seem very surprised. But the yellow Nagaji adjacent to Harrow seems extremely intimidated.

"this should help!" she cries holding out her holy symbol.

The little gnome buffs her party while debuffing her enemies at the same time.

The snake lashes out at Harrow. The creature bites him hard, but the half-orc shrugs off its poison easily.

With an unbelievably fast and precise set of strikes, Uthred slices and dices his foe into pieces!

Mareq and Husarq are up.

Mareq steps back in the face of the nagaji foe.

"To me, Thrall! Protect your master!" he cries.

A smell of brimstone and flame erupts just in front of him as he summons Husarq to his side.

Maker's Call

Husarq feels his body suddenly turn to fire and brimstone, sucked out of the Prime Material Plane and then, in a burst, he reappears just in front of the nagaji, in between it and his master.

After a split second of disorientation, he swings his blade at the creature.

Mareq makes a tactical decision and moves Husarq on the battlefield.

For his part, Husarq deals a grievous blow to the enemy, but leaves his foe standing.

The Yellow Nagaji, hampered both by Harrow's creaming and Lilli's Prayer attemps to strike:

Though its attacks are nearly as swift as Uthred's, its accuracy is not as good. It strikes Harrow only once, dealing 5 HP of damage!

From atop Mareq's face, Tanbaru wonders aloud: "Is this right? I don't recall any of this being here." (He means the statue and the nagaji.) The strange creature's consternation gives Mareq an odd visage that gives even Husarq the chills.

"Harrow wonder if Tanbaru ever here at all," the half-orc says. "Harrow wonder what mask trying to do."

The final nagaji makes a go of it, spending some ki in the process.

Though he is somewhat cowed by Harrows fearsome mein, the nagaji gets a couple of lucky blows to land. As they do, its fist erupt with gouts of flame! Harrow, despite feeling no pain, gets a little bruised and burnt in the process--taking a total of 21 HP of damage.

Harrow is up!

Battered by the enemy's proficient combat style, Harrow cries out, not in pain but in frustration.

"Grrrr!!!"

Still, he has studied the enemy's maneuvers and retaliates with his own cruel, vicious blow.

"Why everything new? You never been here before? Or you know something you not saying?!" Harrow angrily accuses the mask.

Everyone notices the wind begin to pick up in the vicinity of the naga statue.

"Alright... where to next? Any thoughts Tanbaru?"

Surrounded by fierce whirling winds, an athletic woman of living stone appears atop the head of the massive serpentine statue. In a booming telepathic voice, she declares, “For over a thousand years I’ve stood vigil over the procession that leads up to this temple. I was watching you while you walked the Pilgrim’s Path. Everything you faced along the way was a test of your abilities and your character. I saw as you nearly disturbed the birds! I saw as you failed to announce yourselves by ringing the sacred gong! I saw as you left offerings of coin but did not leave rice! But the test is not over—answer my questions and face my judgment!”

In the interlude, Harrow heals a few of his wounds, then looks up at the woman of stone.
