Ashen has DV
Ashen shrugs. She doesnt have the strength or the skills to open a locked door she did not have the key for

"In that case I will try to bash it open"
Isabella tries to put her words into action
Take 20 Str check: 20 = 20

assuming the door opens away from the stairs
Isabella puts her shoulder against the door and pushes as hard as she can.
GM DFang |
The rusted lock easily gives way, revealing the contents of the chamber as light spills in from the stairwell.
Two stone altars, one black and one white, sit at either end of this large chamber, which takes up two wings of the tower on this level. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of each altar beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two troglodytes lie on the floor in the center of the room.
Copper Tam |
Clutching her longspear, Tam warily steps into the room. Letting out a whispered prayer and pulling her goggles down over her eyes, she mentions, "I don't like other altars."
Cast Guidance.
GM DFang |
As Tam steps into the room, the coldness inside suddenly retreats as two skeletons forms in front of each altar, both bursting into flames as the final piece (their skull) is attached. The flames does not seem to hurt them though, and the light through their bones cast eerie shadows upon the walls.
Skeletons? (Knwledge Religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Ashen: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Brand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Tam: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Elsabeth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Isabella: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Turn order has been updated. Please check and move your tokens on the map accordingly.

Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 RTA Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 She lifts her hand and flick open her palm, as energy shoots at the target. But flies off in the wrong direction she intended

Brand will delay. I'll bot him at the end of this turn.
The skeleton near the white altar moves quickly and stops right next to Tam (double move), his bones creaking heard above the crackling of fire upon his bones. The other skeleton charges...
Charge, Claw Attk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
but his stumble mid way gave enough time for Tam to anticipate the attack, leaning back just enough to dodge the claw, though the heat can be felt just slightly as it passes.
Everyone may act.
Brand Windstrider |
Brand will step into the room, provoking an attack from both skeletons as he moves to flank with Tam.
He stops circling his morningstar long enough to grip it, and take a swing.
Attack the Flanked Skeleton: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) - 1 + 2 = 16
Potential Damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
"ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਥੱਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ, ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਲਿਖਣ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ!"
Infernal: "The faster they go down, the faster they stop burning!"
Ashen Nyteshade |
She tries to hit again with her anti undead spell
RTA: 1d20 ⇒ 5
But once again the chaos causes her to miss
Copper Tam |
"I really don't want to stand here with their burning bones in my face!"
Pulling her scarf off from around her midsection, she snaps it at the skeleton between her and Brand.
Attacking, Flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Then she steps aside, putting distance between her and the skeleton to the south.
Isabella Aldori |
"Ok, arrows it is then" Isabella says in cold determination after hearing Ashen's advice
she steps into the room and tries to dodge the skeletons as she moves to the other side of them while drawing her bow. Dodging and readying the bow at the same time is to much to handle for the nimble duellist, she leaves room for the skeleton's to attack her...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Attack, bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Coming to the other end of the room she fires an arrow, to her frustration it does not seem to impede the skeleton at all!
Assuming DR 5/Bludgeoning, which she has no experience with
GM DFang |
Claw Attk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Scimitar Attk: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
The skeleton's attack bump into each other as they try to strike down Brand when he runs past them. After moving around the skeleton, Brand swings his morningstar and slams it into the skeleton between him and Tam. As expected, it collapses under his might, but what he did not expect was the burst of flames that erupted as it did so.
Fiery Death (DC11 for half): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Tam Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Brand Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Brand manages to dodge most of the flames, but Tam was unable to react in time.
Sorry for the late reply, I was out most of the time yesterday but now we have excess rolls for one foe. Isabella's rolls will still apply for the second skeleton wielding a scimitar with the same result.
@Tam: I can let your first roll set to apply for the second skeleton, but is that what you want or do you want to do something else? I'll let you act before the remaining skeleton.
Ashen Nyteshade |
Once again she tries to destroy the skeleton RTA: 1d20 ⇒ 14
This time the disruptive energy hits the undead creature
Zzzap!: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Copper Tam |
"Ow!"
Shaking embers out of her hair, she replies, "Okay, stay away from them!"
She steps northward, pulls out her longspear (instead of her scarf) and attacks the remaining skeleton.
Brand Windstrider |
Brand attempts to recall what information he has on these creatures. Which I should have remembered to do earlier, sorry.
Knowledge (Religion) about Skeletons: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Ha! Would have crit on the other instead, lol.
"ਇੱਕ ਸੋਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਕਰੋ!" he informs the others. Infernal: "Hit it with a stick!"
GM DFang |
@Brand: I just noticed you still have the -2 STR in your info bar. The poison already wore off since its duration was only 4 rounds after the bite.
Tam's spear breaks off a rib from the skeleton which staggers a step backward from the blow. It crackles madly, but you hear only its bones clicking.
Then it steps forward to attack its assailant, raising its scimitar high.
Scimitar Attk: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Claw Attk: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (20) - 3 = 17 (crit?)
Claw Attk: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (14) - 3 = 11 (no crit)
Claw Dmg (flaming): 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (3) = 7
The skeleton's claw gauges a line across Tam's scalemail, penetrating flesh as the fire burns through. The shear pain nearly knocks Tam unconscious but she manages to stay standing.
@Tam: you're at 1HP now, 2dmg from the first explosion then 7dmg now.
Elsabeth steps forward to stab at the creature, but her rapier simply passes through one of the openings of the skeleton. Unfortunately for Ashen, Elsabeth moved so fast that she blocked her target as she attempted to shock the creature to oblivion, causing her to miss.
Tam, Brand, & Isabella may now act.
EDIT: BTW - the skeleton's Fiery Aura also causes those who start their turn adjacent to the skeleton to take 1d6 fire damage.
Fiery Aura vs Tam when she starts her turn: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Ashen Nyteshade |
so even with touch the 14 missed? Ouch

Brand Windstrider |
If you're willing to allow Brand to act before Tam, he'll heal her. Otherwise, he'll still heal her. :)
Brand recoils from the heat of the exploding skeleton. He squeezes his way into the corner of the room adjacent to both Tam and Elsabeth.
He casts Cure Light Wounds onto the inquisitor.
Heal Tam for: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM DFang |
Still no Isabella, botting for now.
EDIT: Dmg -5 below is due to DR 5/bludgeoning.
Isabella dashes around to flank the skeleton and slashes in a wide sweep as she draws close.
Sword Attk: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
Sword Dmg: 1d8 - 5 ⇒ (6) - 5 = 1
She manages to break off one exposed collarbone from the creature who immediate retaliates.
Scimitar Attk: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Parry: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24 (-1 Panache)
Riposte: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
Riposte Dmg: 1d8 - 5 ⇒ (6) - 5 = 1 (+1 Panache)
With the skeleton's movements extremely hampered by the missing collarbone, Isabella was ready for its attack. She slides her blade across the rusty scimitar, scraping off some of the rust in the process, finally lobs the skeleton's head off by breaking its neck. The skeleton's body erupts in a wide spray of flames as death reclaims it once again.
Fiery Death Dmg (DC11 for half): 1d6 ⇒ 5
Reflex Isabella: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 (success)
Reflex Ashen: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 (success)
Unconscious and on the floor, Tam is unaware of the flames and rain of bones beside her. Luckily, the explosion erupted from the skeleton's head and only managed to singe her clothing.
Combat is over.
Isabella Aldori |
I should let you roll my attacks from now on, thanks!
"Ouch, that hurts! Now would be a good time to retreat I think. We should visit a temple in Absalom to get cured and then try again tomorrow."
Ashen Nyteshade |
She nods, undead are not nice. She looked down, and thanks to them she looks like she looks
Brand Windstrider |
Brand takes a breath, "Our lives are more important than treasure..."
He nods his head and reaches down to heal Tam once again.
Cure Light Wounds for Tam: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Damn healing dice, at least she's up.
"Welcome back. It has been suggested that we move back to town and recoup." He leans his hand down to offer her aid in standing.
Brand Windstrider |
"Can we bar or prevent this door from opening while we're gone?" Brand says as he examines the aftermath of the skeleton fight. "Wouldn't want anyone else to accidentally walk into more of those flaming undead."
Brand will attempt to spike or bar the door before they leave, unless someone else does it better.
On the way back to town, Brand pulls his coin out of his pocket and begins to flip it repeatedly. It's interrupted, however, when the lizard-dog approaches. Brand pulls out a piece of jerky and tosses the meat at Kazkaz.
"Be good little lizard-puppy. You're probably going to want to get out of here before the next band of adventurers arrives."
