I would be guarding the back, Alongside Alden and Naala.
An outsider is at least partially composed of the essence (but not necessarily the material) of some plane other than the Material Plane. Some creatures start out as some other type and become outsiders when they attain a higher (or lower) state of spiritual existence.
Since we are from the Meterial Plane... we don't gain it... :(

FiddlersGreen |

Sounds is unaffected.
Colours are muted.
Light level is normal within Matamah's daylight spell, but the radius of the light is halved.
You do not count as outsiders since that is a specific type as 42 mentioned.
Looks like you will be going through the first gate then.

![]() |

Well, a couple of us feel like outsiders. XD
We may all count as extraplanar though... although if it's truly the Plane of Shadow then no one is extraplanar here. :)

![]() |

What is the surface we are walking on? Stone, dirt, something we need a knowledge check to figure out?

![]() |

Knowledge Planes: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
I should be able to tell you that the Shadow Plane is the opposite of our plane.. We are just walking on Stone, just like we were a moment ago.
Side Note, 42 feels okay here, he usually travels to the plane between the normal and the shadow with his blinking ring.

FiddlersGreen |

It's shadow-dirt.
Magically Morphic: Parts of the Shadow Plane continually flow onto other planes. As a result, creating a precise map of the plane is next to impossible, despite the presence of landmarks. In addition, certain spells, such as shadow conjuration and shadow evocation, modify the base material of the Shadow Plane. The utility and power of these spells within the Shadow Plane make them particularly useful for explorers and natives alike.
Emphasis mine. I would say that since the base material is shadow-stuff simulating dirt rather than actual dirt and stone, earth glide would not work. Earl would know this instinctively as he walks on the shadow-dirt

Got it. Thanks. I just had to make sure for both Earl and myself.

Gate is my vote.

Itamar conjures a pit, but as none of the worms are in the area, they do not fall in just yet. Not sure why you put it there. You do know that creatures around a pit only risk falling in if they end their turn adjacent to it, right?
I did not realize that the squares on the map were 10' as opposed to 5'

![]() |

Itamar, I'll give you the option of getting back your spell, but you won't get your action back, just so we keep things moving
No worries, I don't want to retcon either

![]() |

I think you already did that for Rand once earlier today.
Yeah your right, I did. Sorry Rand

![]() |

Yeah... that stupid attack cut my Con in half... Have i used my GM re-roll in this game? If not, i would like to attempt that save again.
fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

I will be away from Friday till Monday am

FiddlersGreen |

Should be fine. Thanks for the heads up. If there's combat I'll put you in delay if your turn comes up.

![]() |

There are 3 gates to choose from as well as a dead-end with some kind of reflective surface in the middle.
Do I assume you go to the nearest gate? What do you want to do at the gate?
I don't suppose Door sight works through gates 8>)
Possible actions
Itamar will use door sight whenever possible
If he sees a caster, he will Dimensional Hop himself and a fighter type right in his grill

I will be playing a Wardens of the Reborn Forge marathon this weekend, so likely won't be able to post Friday night - Sunday evening (7/15-7-17).
Feel free to bot if needed. Likely, he will Inspire Courage, and will Haste if it's a combatant that hasn't been seen before.
Here is his normal block without Haste:
REMEMBER: INSPIRE COURAGE AND FLAGBEARER (+4 to attack rolls (and CMB), +4 to damage rolls, +3 morale bonus against fear (doesn't stack with Rohn's +4 bonus within 10 ft.))
FLAGBEARER ONLY WORKS IF WITHIN 30 FT. OF MATAMAH (-1 attack/damage from bonuses listed above if beyond that range). NO HASTE THIS TIME!

I think since it hasn't been stated before, we should probably pause for needed healing before entering another room.
Who's hurt?, I have some major healing but I am pretty low on the minor stuff

![]() |

I have a wand of cure moderate and a wand of cure light.

![]() |

Alden and Naala could each use a bit of healing.

![]() |

Just checking in to say that Friday has come and, as stated before, I won't be able to post until Sunday evening. Have a good weekend everyone!
Thanks for the heads-up. Good luck!
Thanks!

I usually take 50% miss chance to mean miss on a 1-50, but I'll allow this one. For future reference, low is always bad, except in mirror images where the real one is #1.
I can go with that

![]() |

Since for whatever reason the gameplay thread won't let me post, I'm posting my action here:
Rand will keep his ready the same as well.
fight defensively: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
damage roll: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (2, 2) + 12 = 16
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 80

I will be attending GenCon this year and am volunteering as Tier 1 GM for Paizo. I am not sure how often I may be able to post while there but will try to log on once a day if possible.
If any of you are coming to GenCon feel free to stop by and say hi.
If I am unsuccessful feel free to bot me.
Tactics for Earl: Scout ahead using his Tremorsense and slam any non-incorporeal opponents he might wind up fighting with. He is stated out both at the end of Rhon' stat block and also has his own alias under my screenname.
Standard Tactics for Rhon: He will wade into any fight as needed and fight with his axe. He also has some wands available to use for healing outside of combat. I also have a scroll of breath of life and five gems left on a pair of first aid gloves.

![]() |

Have fun Rhon. I GM'ed there several years back. It was good.

![]() |

I am also going to Gen Con. I am not GMing though so I may be able to keep up... some...
I am travelling to Gen Con Tuesday August 2 and playing games from Wednesday to Sunday, and travel back August 8. During those times, my attendance will be spotty, but I will try to keep up with what I can. No guarantees.

FiddlersGreen |

No worries, we can take it a little slower. Combat is over for now.
Enjoy Gen Con! =)

![]() |

Last time I was at GenCon it was in Milwaukee, I need to go again

![]() |

Rhon has no ability damage. Earl has Con drain and Negative Levels. Would you like to change your action?
Ah my mistake, yeah let's help Earl out

![]() |

The nearest gate to us

![]() |

Gen Con time. Will try to post but may be completely silent come Wednesday.

![]() |

I am off to Gen Con. I will try to post when and if I am able to. I shall hopefully see you there Matamah.

![]() |

Well that sucks, I've already DI'd Rand

FiddlersGreen |

Aye. My party didn't even see this room when I played this.
So what does Itamar do?

![]() |

I do have a teleport if needed

![]() |

I am back home from Gen Con.

![]() |

For some reason the site is not allowing me to post as Earl in the gameplay thread.
Earl delays.

![]() |

Facing this sorta undead with your cleric out of channels surely did not help...
I'm tapped out of alot more than channels

![]() |

Currently I am only out of Lay on Hands.
Does anyone have any scrolls of Restoration or spell slots available to prepare and/or cast Restoration available? Rand and Alden took some serious punishment this last fight.

FiddlersGreen |

Itamar used a heal spell on Alden so he's good now.
Rand is down quite abit of strength. I think he would really appreciate a restoration or heal spell.
If you decide to rest up, let me know what your plan for resting is (where do you rest, how do you get there, what precautions do you take against an irritated wizard knowing you've been through part of his dungeon, etc).

![]() |

I'm good with whatever the group decides

![]() |

Lights on is fine with me
