Seltyiel* |
FORT: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
FORT: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Holding for GM ruling. If Slety makes it into the room, he will use his CLW wand to supplement healing from others, though I think he is stuck with ability drain.
Lerocnel, PbP Ver. |
Regarding Seltyiel's probable condition, Lerocnel/Elfmask would use his First Aid Glove to give a Breath of Life to Seltyiel's body if needed. He could also utilize his Vanish wand as well (whether on himself or anybody else; once per round though).
Lerocnel/Elfmask will also give his Potion of Lesser Restoration and Antitoxin to Seltyiel, as he would have the most need for it.
Regarding Roland's bow, Lerocnel/Elfmask (once he's put up a Shield from his Wand of Shield plus either holding his bladed scarf or entering under a partial defensive stance- maybe even both) should be able to utilize Vanish, Unseen Servant, or even Mage Hand to fetch that bow as well. Worse case scenario, Lerocnel/Elfmask will have to retreat out the open double entryway and utilize his Dimorphodon Mask to fly out of the golem's reach, if the room itself isn't high enough to fly in.

Right now his total hit points would be 25 hit points, meaning he would be at -25 now. He would have dropped a round or two ago.
And further muddy up the situation, he is 3 con damage away from dying. His DC to resist the poison with 4 doses is DC 22, with a -4 penalty to fort saves.
So that is about where we stand. What I am going to do is drop him by the door where he would have went down after the last hit, so the AOO would not have gone off, so will put him at -4. The golem still would go back to his original position, since no more "threats" are in the room.
TL:DR Selty drops to the floor unconscious. Seeing no more threats in the current room, the golem goes back to his station.
Back in initiative
Pathfinders are up-
Roland(48 damage, 2 wisdom damage and 1 constitution damage.)
Gronk(39 damage total)
Illuthion
Seltyeil(29 damage, poisoned-4 doses, round 5 of 15, need a fort save vs poison and a stabilization check, 9 wisdom damage(-4 penalty to will save and wisdom based checks), 9 constitution damage(-4 penalty to fort saves and total HP is 25). 1 of 2 saves made)
Sarczeck
Elfmask
GM Z..D.. |
He also only has a 10 wisdom, so one point from death there too.. Bad spot all around.
not quite, everything except Constitution just knocks you unconscious, which he already is. Link for more info
Sarsczek |
Reverting the map to Seltyiel's attempted escape, Sarsczek was just outside of the door and Seltyiel was at the top of the room. Sarsczek had already given the potion to Roland, so the turn would go like this.
Sarsczek activates his Kaa stone, growing to a large height (swift action), then lunges to grab at the fallen comrade (standard action).
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 Not poisoned
Grapple check - Cover vs Unconcious Body: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 4 = 26 Success
Sarsczek then grabs the body and retreats into the room (move action).
"Rolly... feed him dat potion, anny-buddy... close da door."
That puts us back to where we were, assuming he is fed potions, he should be fine.
Roland Garros |
Roland nods and complies on the potion for Selty.
"Tap him with a wand if anyone has one handy"
hopefully we are now back on track.
Illuthion Cinderrain |
"S#!*, I knew I shoulda bought that wand. F$+# me!" rages Illuthion.
Roland Garros |
Roland would hit him thrice as rolled above .
"Let's patch up. Zhis walking statue caused great harm. We need to regroup before we continue ."
Roland will keep using his wand until party is healed or it runs dry of the roughly 20 charges remaining .
Sarsczek |
Recombining the time streams here, the potion handed to Roland was an lesser restoration which had a roll of 2. That should make the first fort save a 22. On the second round (following the previous incarnation of this event) Sarsczek administered an antitoxin giving +5 to fort saves. That makes the 2nd save a 26. With that Seltyiel appears to be alive and able to be healed the rest of the way. With that, I think we should be where we left off.
Also, I'll assume the AoO that was rolled for Seltyiel instead applies to Sarsczek, so he'd have taken the 19 physical and resisted the acid.
Sarsczek gives Seltyiel a second lesser restoration potion.
Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3
After the puzzle part of the old time stream, Sarsczek also handed his wand off to Roland. Moving forward with that, Sarsczek will need another tap of the wand or two once he finishes with Seltyiel...
CLW for Seltyiel: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 7, 2) + 3 = 18
This should bring Seltyiel to here: 0 damage, no longer poisoned, 9 wisdom damage(-4 penalty to will save and wisdom based checks), 4 constitution damage(-2 penalty to fort saves and total HP is 39))
CLW for Me: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5 With that and the leftovers from the last time stream that puts me at full also.
I think that stitches everything together? Marking 5 more charges off of my wand and 1 more lesser restoration potion from where we were before.
"Mornin' sunshine!"
GM Z..D.. |
Sarszcek that sounds good to me.
Back to the colored tiles. They are fit into the indentation nicely, but still need to be activated someway
Sarsczek |
Refresher...
Inlaid in the dark granite wall on the west side of this room is a large square indentation. Beneath it lie four rectangular pieces engraved with runes, each radiating a soft light: brown stone, blue metal, red crystal, and white ivory.
The square indentation is 2 feet on a side, and each of the four rectangular pieces—each representing a different element—is 2 feet wide, 6 inches high, and an inch thick.
Sarsczek pulls out a small journal and scribes a translation of the Jistkan phrase.
“At the dawn of time, the fires burned until rain quenched their fury down into solid stone, which has always gazed upon the sky above in envy. Demonstrate obedience to the ancient elemental ordering.”
"Hrmmm... still need ta turn dis on. Mebbe it needs some fire, water, wind, ann earff put onnit? Is anny of dis magic?"
He tries to see if there is any way to fit the Sage Jewel into this device.
Do any of the panels have any give like they can be used as buttons? Or are there any levers around this contraption?
Sarsczek |
We're out of initiative, and Sarsczek has probably stared at the wall for a solid 10 minutes now. I think your infernal wand should be fine. Although you may be annointing yourself with the blood of one of Sarsczek's ancestors... Careful... it might rub off on you.
GM Z..D.. |
The tiles are in the right position. Think of the Fifth element.
Sarsczek |
Do you know how hard it was to resisting the urge to quote that movie in my last post? But if you insist...
Sarsczek looks at each of the panels, and attempts his previous theory for lack of any better idea. He picks up some dirt from the dusty floor and smears it on the brown stone. He spits into his hand and rubs the moisture across the blue metal. He blows across the white ivory, then looks at the red crystal. "I ain't got no fiyah!"
Illuthion Cinderrain |
Illuthion frowns, but offers: "I can hit them things with cold, acid or electricity, once maybe even twice. But that's about it. Anyone got s&~+ to turn on the other 2?"
Sarsczek |
"Anny buddy have a tindertwig? Or flint ann stee-eel?"
I'll check my paper inventory tracking sheet when I get home.
Seltyiel* |
Once Selty comes to, he will dose himself with his own CLW wand.
CLW: 6d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 1, 6, 8) + 6 = 39
"Sarszcek! You beautiful creature! I was certain I was a goner...thank you." The half elf tries to stand, but is severely weakened from the poison. "I feel terrible."
Gronk Bloodstone |
If we are waiting 10 mins than anyone can have some lesser infernal if they wish, just let me know how many charges.
Gronk digs in his pack and pulls an alchemist flask..
"From my early adventuring days! I knew I would need it someday. I also have an acid flask if it helps save you a spell Ill.
Seltyiel, I have 2 lesser resto potions as well if you need them.
Illuthion Cinderrain |
"No worries G-man, it ain't no spellcasting choochery. S@@+'s for scrublords. No offense" replies Illuthion with a belated, rather insincere apology, as if incapable of realizing what politeness signifies. He taps his head with his gloved right hand, the runic tracery with patterns copied from an equally ancient empire start glowing with red, angry light. "Mindpowers and old emotions. Watch this."
Grabbing the flask of acid offered, he applies the acid upon the earth tile. Then, taking a deep breath he shouts "તમારી છીણી વાહિયાત", bringing his gloves up, the runes seemingly bursting with angry, red energy.
Illuthion will use burning hands on the fire tile, convert 2 of his transmutation focus into an evocation focus, and blast the water and air tiles with a cold energy ray to the first and then an electrical one to the second, leaving me all out of evocation focus points. You know for an implement school that is not highly valued, I've gotten a lot of milage out of it.
Roland Garros |
"Zhis is an impressive puzzle ."
Roland will continue to help others with bandages and cures on Gronk or Selty as needed
Clw : 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 8, 3) + 3 = 17 on self
Has the golem stopped moving? He will look at retrieving his bow by hook or crook if possible before moving. He has a backup of not possible /blocked .
Sarsczek |
Sarsczek will happily run through the room and back to retrieve the bow and inspect the results of the puzzle solving attempt at the same time.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Lerocnel, PbP Ver. |
Lerocnel/Elfmask will offer his Potion of Lesser Restoration to Seltyiel. "You will need some restoration from your injured state."
Lesser Restore: 1d4 ⇒ 3. Seltyiel's stat damage of choice.
Lerocnel/Elfmask will also give Sarsczek a tap from the Vanish Wand to help assist in retrieving Roland's bow. (-1 charge)
GM Z..D.. |
As each tile is activated, the PC's hear noises in the distance.
The sound of water is heard from the other side of cavern. Grinding can be heard down below, sounds of stone on stone.
Torches spontaneously light all around the cavern.
The platform in the other room hums to life, as the once dim triangular tiles shine brightly.
The golem still stands guard at its position, however the toxic fumes are no longer leaking from its body.
To activate the platform you will need a DC15 intelligence check or DC 20 UMD. It can transport two people at a time, and will need to designate left, middle or right.
Sarsczek |
UMD eh? That's where occultists rule! My occultist is Transmutation, Divination, Evocation, Abjuration. Although my evocation spell selection is a bit odd. Pilfering Hand FTW!
As the systems all reactivate Sarsczek jumps up and down with glee. "Whoohooo Luthy! Imma go see whass goin on outside den. Be rite back!"
He cracks the door open, and then once Lerocnel taps him with the vanish wand, he rushes into the first room to grab the bow. He then takes a quick peek at the Golem to see if he's still hostile before bolting back into the room. "Golem... Stay!" Should expose myself to a single attack from him if he's still hostile.
With that he rushes back into the room with the rest of the party and shuts the door behind him.
"Okie... so dis defimintly is a sac-red place. So less make sure we dun break it too much. Missir Amanafis's gem seems ta have some connek-shun wiff here ann if we do wat it say and use it as much as we can, I fink we be OK. Speshully cuz Missir Amanafis is like... really really smart cuz of dis gem thing. Da rune is workin again in the other room, so we should prolly get to it really quickly-like. Two by two. Luthy, you fink you can turn it on?"
Roland Garros |
Roland nods in agreement
"We should be ready to move. Zhere is no telling how much time we will have once zhey activate.

"OK, so we got the metal chooch to stop his s!@%" exclaims Illuthion as he steps back into the main room. "Now let me see if I can get us through this b$#~@*$$."
Gonna go with the right platform and I'm going to keep the group together.
The half-elf cracks his knuckles as he begins to get a feel for how the device functions.
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
"Go, go, go!" he begins to shout, as he successfully hits just the right "notes" on the runic platform.
Lerocnel, PbP Ver. |
Lerocnel/Elfmask will nod in appreciation at the collective creatively cleverness and resourcefulness of his fellow Pathfinders in getting those runes reactivated. "Cleverly solved and Flawlessly accomplished."
In order to prepare for any golem attack on the way to the reactivated rune, Lerocnel/Elfmask will be holding onto his bladed scarf, wearing his dimorphodon mask, and using a charge on his Shield wand upon himself for a total of AC 26. He will keep the scroll of Fleeting Defect, along with his Wand of Vanish, "velcroed" to his Versatile Vest. -1 Shield Wand charge. He will also precast Mirror Image upon himself for a duration of 7 minutes and have 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 duplicate images of himself.
Lerocnel/Elfmask will also offer a charge from his Shield Wand to his fellow Pathfinders who could use a minute long +4 to Shield AC.
Lerocnel/Elfmask will opt to go with the middle group into the platform rune if given a choice.
GM Z..D.. |
This is where it going to get interesting. The golem goes after anyone who renters the room. So I will putting us back into initiative. Then it is going to be standard action to activate the platform. So my question is, is Illution just activating it for the others and teleporting them, if so that will be three rounds worth of actions. I also need to know which platform you are sending them
With that said, going back into initiative. illuthion, you can keep your rolls.
Pathfinders are up....
Roland Garros |
"If we are ready, we are not to attack zhe golem or more of zhe toxic gas will release as we saw."
Roland is fully healed other than the wisdom and con damage so he can try to impede the golem for others passage - full defense etc. unless someone has way to neutralize attacks like invisible or mirror images .
Sarsczek |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Lerocnel has AC26 and mirror image before the total defense bonus of +6 (for having 3 ranks in acrobatics), so he's probably in the best position to tank the Golem for 3 rounds. I'd say Gronsk and Seltyiel in first, Me and Roland next in case Roland needs to pop off a parting cure light wounds wand, and Lerocnel and Illuthion in last.
Illuthion Cinderrain |
Does the golem reactivating mean we must deal with toxic gasses again? Otherwise, I am sending us all to the rightmost platform as laid out on the map.
Sarsczek |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Yeah, gas only hits when people hit it. Easier to take the fists than the smoke.
Gronk Bloodstone |
Before moving from the room Gronk uses his scroll of heroism on himself and casts the shield spell on himself.
"Ok heading in.." Gronk moves to the platform when he is told to go, axe in hand..
GM Z..D.. |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
You are correct on the Gas, once you bypass its DR with any damage, it releases and the more time you hit it, the more it leads. With that being said, will wait for the others to chime in, since the next part will be tricky
GM Z..D.. |
Gronk moves across the room and gets struck by the golem.Gronk takes 15 damage
Rest of pathfinders are up.
Sarsczek |
"Okie! Less do dis!"
Sarsczek watches carefully, keeping a careful eye on the Golem as Illuthion guides the first pair off to their destination. Once Gronk and Seltyiel are through, Sarsczek rushes up to the pad and does his best to keep the heat off of Illuthion as he moves to activate it a second time.
Sarsczek will let Roland provoke the AoO for movement since Roland's AC is much higher, then wish rush over to the platform and use his reach to try to cloud the golem's vision.
Dirty Trick to Blind: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17 Well... he tried.
Lerocnel, PbP Ver. |
Apologies about the late posting; Lerocnel/Elfmask will readily agree to go and tank the golem. Would it be okay for him (or some other person able to cast arcane spells) to use the Fleeting Defect scroll on the golem while Sarczek and Roland occupy it's attention? Or should it be saved for something else- like breaking something further in the complex?
@Before going outside to the golem: Lerocnel/Elfmask will state, "Yes, it would be a logical course of action for me to go and keep the golem's attention upon myself while the others are moving towards that activated rune, as I've made such preparations in such an event."
The blue arrow indicates Lerocnel's starting point on the map. Assuming that he'll move during either Gronk's turn or Roland/Sarczek's turn (I'll let GM Z..D.. decide), he will move his full 40 feet over to the golem as his move action and he'll be at 26 AC since he hasn't gone full defense yet. If he draws an AOO during that movement, then he'll do so. If he is allowed a standard action afterwards, he'll go partly defensive at +2 AC and a -4 to attack (in which he does not attack, however, knowing that the gas will be much more deadlier than its' fists).
@Up to the golem's face: Lerocnel/Elfmask will attempt to speak to the golem in Jistikan, saying "Please stop your attacks. We mean no hostility towards you; we are only trying to pass through to the rune upon the dais."
For the next few rounds, he'll go +6 total defense until it is time for him to pass thru the rune.
Illuthion Cinderrain |
Illuthion steps out, grumbling about the choochery of the entire ordeal, whatever that may mean. Standing near the platform, he arms it and readies it to teleport four of his other companions ahead of him before stepping in himself and teleporting. "Hope this chooch-machine knows that when I say right I mean right!"
GM Z..D.. |

Illuthion manages to teleport the group over to the floating platforms, leaving the golem at its place. Before the group can get settled, three figures emerge from the shadows of the platform and one descends from above.
Roland: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Illuthion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
