A fortified keep just screams traps to me. I'm not good at that. How's everyone else?

![]() |

Tuich is aces at disabling them. Spotting them in the first place, not so much.

![]() |

Kawrock has a +10 to disable and +12 perception. Magical traps on the other hand he does not do. I also have to put together a post summarizing his other adventures.

![]() |

Hi! Need some time to strip Mythic tiers from Khismia and minor shopping and then I'll join you.
I'm totally not fighting/trap person, but I have Profession (midwife) in case of unexpected complications :) Look at Khismia more as mini-Healer/debuff character.

Miko is here. About to update the character to lvl 5...

StephNyan |

I'd hoped to see Vincent by now. Shall we wait a couple more days, or do you want to start asap?
If the GM isn't familar with Gamin I can provide stats.
I remember Gamin from the times I played and ran The Night March of Kalkamedes! :) Though I'd appreciate it if you could maybe put his stats in your profile, where I can easily access them.

I know how a schedule can fail to normalize when you expect. (Boy howdy, do I!) I'm cool with giving him more time, but I'll defer to the majority.

![]() |

Fine with me...

![]() |

Oh man, sorry guys. I really meant to get back to this a lot sooner than I did. Work has settled down now, plus no more visiting relatives.
I'll get caught up. Thanks for waiting.

So there's no confusion, here are my prepared spells:
2nd—glitterdust (DC 15), invisibility
1st—shield, shocking grasp (2), vanish[APG] (DC 14)
0 (at will)—arcane mark, detect magic, prestidigitation, read magic

I just discovered, how severe the silence was nerfed in Pathfinder. I was in TPK situation, when one of our guards cast silence and we couldn't hear the battle. It was 10 min/level long in 3.0, 1min/lvl in 3.5 and now it's only 1 round/lvl... It won't help us to cross that 1320 feet till river, which take 132 rounds with Stealth and my current speed.

Check my last gameplay post, you're no longer at that distance. The spell may still be useful! ;)

I'm going to try to keep track of my prepared spells here in the discussion tab. See how it works out.

Remember that haunted oracle party we once discussed? We should really do that some time! I've been keeping Miyako's level the same as this party's, to ensure we can! :)

DM Kludde |

Now checking if I have enough GM credit to get an oracle to level 4 :)

Um... you do realize that with a whole mess of spirits hanging around, they'll be irresistibly tempted to gang up and play keep-away with our gear?
Every time one of us does the "retrieve a stored item" thing, we'll have to hunt through all our packs looking for whatever it is...

![]() |

Sorry for being passive... I'll try to return and follow more closely. It was a bit of gamer's block - no ideas of how to contribute to current situation, but I'll do my best to keep with you and do not hang along all the time.

Moving this to Discussion so as not to clutter Gameplay.
You either attack the person or the armor, not both.
Image the reverse of the 'both scenario': Every attack on the person inside the armor could also damage the armor, if the attack also happens to exceed the armor's hardness. That'd be horrible... :S
Okay, good. That's what I'd thought, as "both" made no sense. But I've been fooled by "obvious" (and wrong!) interpretations before :o) so I just wanted to make sure. Thanks.
This next bit shouldn't be answered until after we defeat these things, since it might reveal information we shouldn't yet have. But I'll cue it up for later:
I've never before used Sunder. Was it the wrong choice here? For what appears to be animated armor, it seemed to be the best option since there's no one inside to damage.

![]() |

Technically it's an animated object that happens to be a suit of metal armor. It's not "wearing" the armor, so I don't think you can technically sunder it. Another argument against sundering the suits of armor is that normal damage to an animated object doesn't give it the broken condition, which sunder does (see the rules on damaging objects).
Supposing you can, the difference between the two options is of "attack roll against AC" vs "combat maneuver vs CMD." Plus the combat maneuver provokes. Damage wise, they'd be equivalent, since you don't get special bonuses to bypassing hardness with a sunder.
Lastly, what you're thinking of with dealing damage to both a creature and their equipment falls under Greater Sunder:
...Whenever you sunder to destroy a weapon, shield, or suit of armor, any excess damage is applied to the item's wielder....

StephNyan |

Now I read the sunder description again, it indeed does mention it has to be an item worn by an opponent. If this weren't PFS I'd be okay with it anyway, but guess I'll have to go with the official thingy here.
Never saw Great Sunder by the way. Sunder builds never seemed that great to me, and I've never seen anyone run one, so I never looked it up. In PFS you're usually better of just dealing damage, and in regular PF you're breaking your future loot. Anyway, I learned something! Yay! :D

![]() |

Breaking the loot is okay if you have enough time/spell slots to cast Make Whole, etc. on the loot that you broke. But it's a bad combat maneuver in the sense that it only really works on martial humanoids. You can't sunder natural armor, and it's useless against a wizard.
Sunder builds are fun to put on enemies, though! Especially enlarged lunging whirlwind power attacking barbarians with adamantine greatswords! Except that I don't actually hate my players that much.

I had a great con at Geneva with the local french/swiss and british PFS charter. I managed to run all the specials there. It was a small con, so it was easy to keep track of what people were playing, what characters died, what happened. I managed to do what I love best, which is cross-reference events across tables (especially the 6-97 and 6-98 combo was great for that: player characters showing up as 'aiding pathfinders', new names being chiseled into the Wall of Names, references to events in the first scenario that show up in the second). Loved it!
I also got me a seat at Rob Silk's True Dragons of Absalom table. What a blast! I've suddenly got a use for my star replays :-)

DM Kludde |

The dutch team are running the special on Oct 25th in Gouda (of cheese fame, yes). I (probably) cannot make it there. It's well worth visiting if you have the time.
Warhorn (link) in case you're interested.

Hey gang, thanks for your patience and for your excellent job of botting Tuich; you missed every bit as well as she could have! :op
Sorry about the glitch. I had to relocate way out into the boonies because of my job, and the only real option for connectivity here is cellular. Around last Thursday the one tower I can reliably (but weakly) hit apparently went down. I was reduced to one bar of 1x when I could get anything at all. Email continued to function... mostly... sort of... but most sites, including Paizo, would time out before they could load. I was essentially dead in the water for about a week.
I thought things were back to "normal" Friday but it turns out things are still slow even with a better signal. I just loaded the combat map for this game and it took over three minutes. (I'd like to think all this is because they're upgrading the tower, but I don't hold much hope.)
Anyway, I'm back (if slow) and have been working on getting caught up on everything. Sorry it's taken me this long. I think I can at least function now, as long as things don't get any worse.

![]() |

It's great to be back, I think withdrawal symptoms were looming.
Now I just need to sync up with the rest of my games!

![]() |

Not to over-brag, but I did a stirring rendition of the Nutcracker, if I do say so myself. Good to have you back, Tuich.

![]() |

Dear friends! I will spend next several days without gaming, because of some personal matters. Please, bot my actions if needed. See you on Monday!

Hi, I'm back. I planned to have some time off to figure out personal and spiritual life and prepare myself for my friend's daughter baptism. Godfather is very important role in Orthodox church, so I was very passionate about that.
I fell of my bicycle on Wednesday morning and spend next days laying low, taking medicine and sleeping most of the time and thinking about God and myself, when I was awake. This was quite a challenging task, but I kept my fast and now I am back to gaming. Except my hands still hurt. X-Ray was clean, no bones broken (except one tooth, which can be fixed later). I am ready to post, but I will be quite short in my descriptions for a while.
