Anyone have any interesting wands, scrolls, or alchana?
Mercutio Menschjaeger

I can't use that wand...but Maladash can (and you probably gave it to him, or at least, certainly not me), and hitting with it will be much less of a challenge than with physical weapons - so to Maladash, I highly recommend making that your weapon du jour and passing me your morningstar.
The near-future appears misty....
Also, if anyone has a Shirt, for Groetus' sake invoke it now to save Brayden.

The wand is a touch attack.
Asar, round 7
Asar: "You, after them, and you join me against the other shield guy."
Green steps 5ft forward.
1 Licen 2 Mercutio: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Asar vs Maladash.
Sword, PA: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 - 2 = 131d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 6 = 19
Red vs Maladash.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The undead's attack get deflected, as Maladash aims his shield at the right times, to make their attacks bounce off.

Taking the liberty of assuming Maladash handed me his Morningstar....
"BLAH!!!"
morningstar, Bloodrage, vs Green: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Thank f@$%ing Devil.

"So are we running?"
I didn't think we were just yet...especially since I just FINALLY managed to turn the tables in our favor (and I'm now going to be fatigued and unable to run properly for the next minute).
Go get 'em, tiger!

Maladash, divine favor lasts a few rounds more.
Asar, round 8
Asar:"What, you think a puny little stick with a stone is going to kill me? BAHAHA!"
Sword, PA: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 2 = 141d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
<CLANG>, metal upon metal, as Asar's sword clashes with Maladash's shield.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 181d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Red's claws are still failing their purpose.
Licen, Maladash & Mercutio
Licen & Mercutio heal 1. 5 more rounds for Licen.
Maladash, the Paladin of Chaos
|
Blocking a shot with his shield, Maladash trying sudden movement to hit the red skeleton, but the chances of getting very little.
Wand: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
After that, he makes an easy step back.
Mercutio Menschjaeger
|
A winded Mercutio exhales...and exhales...and exhales...until his chill breath has fogged up nearly the whole room!
Obscuring mist time! If nothing else, we can use this to let our Fast Healing work, and ready attacks for when then they bumble into melee....
| Chyrone |
Nice option.
Asar, round 9
Asar: "What is this? Mere tricks won't help you, kekeke."
Asar walks closer ahead, expecting to see one of the adventurers in his path.
"Aha, the other shield man."
Sword, PA: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 2 = 271d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Hit %, 21+ is good: 1d100 ⇒ 45
>_>
Crit?: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 251d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
I'm so sorry Maladash. :(
The evil skeletal lord slays the second shield bearer.
Red walks forward, stopping close to Mercutio.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
%: 1d100 ⇒ 47
?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The skeleton hits, but Mercutio is rightfully stubborn and remains standing.

Maladash, the Paladin of Chaos

Do I understand correctly that this is a complete and irreversible end? If that is what I can say. First, I was sure that this would happen in the previous scenario, with the Minotaur. Second, it's a little sad, I have already had a little bit to get used to Maladash. But third, as I wrote in previous game - those who can't live with it, better to play the Sims. Well. Thank you all for a cool game.

Were it not for Asar's intent of raising, you could use PP from another PC to recover your body, for future resurrection.
#1, Licen asked me about that.
#2 I would've liked to see his future powers.
#3 Wish those weren't the last words.
------------------
#4 I have a risky but potential theory to 'defeat' him.
It involves DC acro checks, however, if you catch my drift, and a certain set of statues, with a little luck. At best, it will give you the head start space to run.

I dunno...let's say there were such a thing as an "I Call Bullshit Threshold" - one past which, while it certainly couldn't enable one to declare a roll to be something other than it was, might be able to warrant an impromptu computer science experiment: Suppose, for the sake of argument, Maladash were to roll Asar's last attack, and DM were to roll Maladash's last attack in trade - Dicebot doesn't care who rolls, right? Surely it shouldn't make a difference.
And what of the pitfalls of playing a game designed for a table and fleshy hands rolling concrete dice in a high-tech format where such things aren't present? The game was designed, after all, for a medium in which, well, sometimes dice fell off the table, or Oogie-Boogie slams his fist in irritation, and cannot be held responsible if the ensuing kinetic wave knock the dice onto a different face...just a thought, just saying...and had Claude Rains' character in Casablanca NOT been a corrupt official on the payroll of an international crime kingpin, he'd have been one of the bad guys, you ever think about that? Just a thought....

The both of you jump across the area.
Asar taunts you more.
"You'll not escape me!"
He emerges from the fog and follows you on the bridge, not bothering in his malicious arrogance.
Statues vs Asar: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

The statues rush forward, shoving the evil skeletal fighter aside into the pit.

Anyway....
From the depth of the chasm, Asar's voice is heard.
"You think this is over? I will get out, and will have my revenge!..."
(more empty threats ensue)
You find Mykel still passed out, but after either a CLW wand tapping, or 2 hours of rest, he'll come to.
When you get to the woman, you will find her with a pulse, and don't need too much effort to have her wake up. A soft shaking seemed enough.
She tells you about the several villagers been tasked to prepare the crypt for the coming of age trial, pretty much the information the Roldare told you.
"Is my brother alive?"
Mykel Therinor
|
What in blazes happened...how did....ahh no! I shouldn't have gone ahead. Brayden and Maladash might have lived. We must drink to their lives when we get back....
Mykel turns to the girl..
Aye...he's fine. We'll take you to him...
Take her back and then finish the rest off?

There's no loose rocks around. Mykel's arrow could do the trick....or be creative and drop something very heavy, with a RT. :)
2 rooms adjacent to the current lay unexplored.
1 room:
This crypt is the resting place for a number of villagers, each one entombed inside a stone sarcophagus.
2nd room:
This crypt contains the resting place for some of the raiders that
attacked Kassen so many years ago. The central sarcophagus has been disturbed, its lid lying broken on the ground in front of it.
The corpse of a masked man lies beside it.
The sarcophacus within this room has its lid removed, but a body still lays within. It is equipped with a shiny fullplate and a peculiar but exquisite looking sword.
+2 fullplate
+1 flaming longsword
Shinies :)

I'm going to put that monster out of our misery...
Mykel heads to the pit where Asar fell, drawing his bow as he goes. He nocks a blunt arrow and fires.
I have 20 blunt arrows, i'll roll all 20, just left me know after which one he drops, ok?

Asar isn't destroyed yet, but at least another 13 dmg is done.
If you're going with Licen's suggestion of dropping a lid on him, i reckon the lid of the empty one, just roll for a ranged touch attack, the three of you guys are (probably) capable of lifting such a piece of stone.
Impact if so: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 4) = 10
Which is enough to destroy him.
Mercutio Menschjaeger

"Hmph. I would have let him howl down there until the stones swallowed him up."
| Chyrone |
Ahem.....clears throat...
With the three of you, you carry the heavy sarcophacus lid from the bandits' burial chamber, over to the chasm.
From the depths, Asar still makes his empty threats, and some insults.
"Your mothers were hamsters, and your fathers smelled of elderberries."
Unwise, as Licen pointed out the proper angle to drop it, and drop it you did.
"Aw...crud...."
<BAM!!>
With a firm speed, the lid comes crashing down upon Asar, ending the skeletal lord's existence.
Mykel Therinor
|
Put a lid on it, monster! What, you were thinking the same thing! Mykel ssys to his colleagues, knowing they were likely to groan internally over his pun.
Let's be off...we need to get out of this godforsaken place. We need to take care of our fallen brethren also. We cannot leave them here.

Mercutio lovingly takes up the sword.
"Now HERE lies a gentleman's weapon! Let it be put to the greatest of uses, as Brayden and Maladash would have...son of a b&&+@ owed me a duel...."

The aftermath:
After the destruction of Asar, the team had returned to the room.
When Mykel lights the flame in the lantern, spectral shape rises from the sarcophacus. A bearded but not yet middle aged looking man with a sympathetic look stares at you.
"Greetings, adventurers. I am Kassen, and i thank you for ending Asar's evil in this crypt.
He and i......used to venture together, but we went seperate ways after we found a large treasure. He attacked, i suspect, feeling betrayed by my leaving and retiring. It ended in death for the both of us, and many others."
He notices Licen and Mercutio having Brayden and Maladash across their shoulders.
"My sympathies, for the loss of your friends.
I would like to extend my gratitude, with a gift."
He reaches into his sarcophacus, and retrieves for you some items, that you'll later identify as:
A bag of holding (type I), a +1 bashing shield, an elemental gem (water).
He also gives each of you a scale from his armor.
"For stopping Asar's evil, you can each call for my aid once, in time of need."
A boon mentioned on the chronicle.
