Still, magical or not, Mercutio WOULD rather have the nice-looking dagger found as treasure than have to borrow Mykel's own.

Ok, time to get back to it. :)
The portcullis gives way after Licen beats it aside, creaking in its hinges above, before scraping the wall and falling with a firm BANG, onto the ground in the other room.
Peeking over Licen's shoulder, Maladash can make out another set of alcoves in burial walls in the dark (not for long) catacomb.
There is some sound coming from the back, something has awakened.
It's the sound of many soft ticking sounds, gutteral ticking sounds.

"Maladash! Have you no caution?", Brayden calls as the paladin of chaos runs into the room and around the corner.
"Crud...well no option but to head in, before he gets eaten by something monstrous."
Brayden grabs for his sword and a torch.
"Could someone light this for me, i seem to have forgotten my flint." No materials to light torches with X)
Torch and sword in hand, he sets foot inside.
Both Brayden and Maladash now notice what was making that sound, which now turns into hundreds of little screeches. Bats.....swarms of bats...DAMN BATMAN!!

From where I am now, I can get BOTH swarms (and even avoid Maladash)!

The blood coursing through bitten and burnt body of Maladash. But he's not going to give up or retreat! He pulls out a torch and igniting it, ready to start to beat the bats.

Mykel quickly runs into the room, swatting aside the few bats close to his face.

Mykel makes his way to the other side of the swarm incidentally, i'm having StarCraft music playing XD and makes a jab at it.
Too bad though, the creatures are too much for a conventional weapon to hit.
Mercutio throws his flask, 1d3 ⇒ 2, and it shatters on the square just east of it, dealing 1 splash to Mykel.
The swarm's hurt bad enough to scatter.
Combat over....hooray.

And there's the required perception check.
The vaulted ceiling of this vast chamber shows significant signs of damage, with numerous cracks along its surface.
In the center of the room, a 10-foot-wide bridge crosses a deep chasm.
On the other side, a pair of stone statues watch over the end of the bridge in front of a set of grand brass double doors.
The statues depict villagers holding shields and spears.
Licen sees a large area of the bridge to be slightly...'off', in appearance.
