Hastard the Bastard

With but a nod to the paladin, Hastard leads his companion to the back of the group. The pair following the group a good 15ft behind.
"Remember, we want them alive." he whispers, eyeing Dusklord.
Starling the Swift
|
Starling takes a sip of the ale, then mutters a short prayer to Cayden with a smile before following the others, with the half-full mug still in her hands.
When the party's path is blocked, she drinks the rest of the ale, then becomes more alert to her surroundings. "I have a feeling the rest of this journey won't be peaceful. I would suggest we take a long, unexpected detour, but we're probably being followed even now so it probably doesn't matter much. Hard to miss us with the keg-cart."
Starling tries to remember something about the lesser known god,
but nothing other than ale comes to her mind.Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

The group finds their alternate route. Stephani does not break free of the entangling weeds, and draws her trident.

She still took half dmg from my attack, right? Also, did she need to draw the wand, or was she already holding it? If she had to draw the wand, I'll cast glitterdust. If she already had it in hand, I'll ready the spell for when she reappears.
Dusklord frowns as the woman overcomes the worst of his spell and disappears from view.
"I have a couple of spells prepared that may ameliorate the situation," he says.

She scoots away from the edge of the pit and Nord. "We were hired by a woman in a grey cloak. She wanted us to bring the cask to her warehouse. I can tell you how to get there." She holds out the shrunken cask to return it. "Will you please let us go?"
Dusklord
|
"How much were you paid, and what were your instructions?" Dusklord asks.
"And of course, we will show the utmost mercy to you and your sister, won't we, Stephani? You are negotiating with a paladin. I, myself, may as well have taken the paladin's code," he says.
| GM_CariMac |
"A Paladin you say? Maybe you can help us. The boss Lady isn't much for religion. In fact she hates it. Make sure she doesn't get to us." Durnil moves up to next to her sister, and if no one stops her pours a wand of Cure Light down Tersula's throat.
"Alright you have a deal. You are letting us go for the location of the warehouse where we are supposed to take the keg. It's an old warehouse near the Pit View Pub." They both promise to leave town, and categorically refuse to tell the Greycloaks what they know.
At the Warehouse
The exterior of this run-down warehouse is rotting, and the roof is clearly sagging in places. Any paint that once coated its walls has long since flaked off the parched-looking gray wood. The windows are boarded firmly shut, and both pairs of loading doors appear to be jammed closed.

"This is another time I cannot refrain from stating some of the virtues of the undead. Had we an animated companion, especially one with some strength, we would already be through this door and accomplishing the great good we are destined to do."
The wizards sniffs. "But given that I don't have a mindless servant to command, I bid one of you stronger fellows to do the labor," he points.

Stephani rolls her eyes at Dusklord's obsession with controlling mindless servants, but tries to stay focused on the mission.
