"I suppose I could use a top up there. If wee need to save charges though I can wait."
Looks like I hadn't updated my HP but I should currently be at 10 out of 18 points.
Zokon Santyev
"Thankyou... ahhh feels good" Zokon looks visibly relieved
Celyne
Celyne nods to Numalar... "No worries, Nummy... Here you go."
clw on Numalar: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Alia of the Blade
You guys...when I'm unconscious and in negative HP, while there's still Mites bombarding from above, you leave me and Celyne alone and press on in a different direction rather than letting them come to us - and now you're relaxing and casually healing up minor boo-boos?...
With the frantic battle over, Alia meant to press their advantage, not intending to let the Mites regroup...realizing some of her comrades are heavily wounded as well, though, she takes a moment to catch her breath. Watching the exit of the room with her weapon ready, her adrenaline level drops and she becomes aware of the pain in her limbs caused by the fall.
But that's only pain. Could have ended worse.
MUCH worse-
Zokon Santyev
"Lets get going
Zokon leads the way out of this maze thingie
RPGGGM
The cave beyond is damp and haphazardly cluttered with broken beds, chairs, wagon wheels, and an assortment of worn, tattered, dingy, and broken objects pilfered or salvaged from big folk. A row of bookcases stands crookedly propped against the near wall, the shelves filled with bits of bone, feathers, and dried centipede legs. Old window frames, cracked and splintered, hang upon the wall like works of fine art.
One mite, overburdened by his sofa-sized backpack stuffed full of pole-arms struggles uselessly, like an overturned turtle, to flip back up to its feet.

Scarlet draws her swords, then takes a look around the room.

With these rolls I think we are all looking at the same thing! :)
"If it will stay out of our way then I'd rather just leave it here."
Are the polearms small, i.e. sized for mites?
Alia of the Blade
"Maybe they loaded the guy up with blackpowder and polearms? It could be a trap, be careful!" Alia comments, staying near the back in case the remaining mites circled around.
RPGGGM
It seems to be what it looks like.
And sorry for the further delay. Apparently my posting window has shutters.
Scarlet Scarab
"If it's not gonna move... let it be. We got what we came here for."
Scarlet keeps her weapons drawn and carefully walks up to the mite provoking an AoO.
If it swipes at her she will try to kill it.

Zokon continues out of the lair

The path ahead a steep cork-screw tunnel that leads upwards about 20 feet. It opens on the wet floor of a large low cavern crisscrossed by several shallow trenches, each containing trickles of putrid-looking fluid. Six foul mounds of compost and dung lie heaped about the room, each studded with small spherical eggs.
A chipped crockery bowl filled with blood and squashed field-mice lies upturned on the ground near the center of the chamber.
Dozens of little centipedes scuttle about the chamber.
The western end of the cave cinches down to a narrow opening on the wall abutting the low-ceiling. It seems to lead upwards. There's even a slight breeze.

Taking the tunnel up t party eventually returns to the cramped tunnel with the perpendicular shaft they originally descended down. Climbing upward they emerge amid the gnarled roots of the tree, and into fresh air. The morning mist has burned off and day looks to be a nice one. The sun has not yet reached the midday mark.
What would you like to do?
Scarlet Scarab
"Alright, we're out of there. Ask the kobold what he plans to do now, and if he'll trade the moon radishes for the statue."
Scarlet looks at Celyne. "Let's find Luna. She must be bored, eh?"
Zokon Santyev
Yes Luna then the kobolds to return their statue..."
As he stretches out with Glee
Celyne
Celyne looks for Luna, calls for her softly, hoping she's not off hunting. "Trade the statue for the radishes? Why not deliver the statue ourselves, and try to make friends with the whole tribe? They could turn out to be good allies if we befriend them."
Luna! Where are you, baby?" she calls out softly, not raising her voice too much... then she makes kissy noises and calls for Luna again.
Zokon Santyev
"Well from my readings I seem to remember if you can somehow win the friendship of a kobold tribe they actually make decent allies, it's just making friends part that's difficult."
Zokon shrugs
Numalar Auritonius
|
"Well then, Numalar you want to say hello, then?"
"Hmm."
Numalar turns to Mikmek.
"wIghomDI' nuvpu' wa'DIch ghom jISaHchugh naDev neH chaH."
Numalar indicates the spot on the map where the silver mine is located.
"'ach DaH 'e' vItIv maH, vaj Ho'Du' jej neH tIHmey maH Hoch wo' tuq?"
"But now that we have met you, should we just return Sharp Tooth directly to your tribe?"
RPGGGM
The party meets up with Naleksa, Luna, Didymus and their mounts.
How did you want to proceed: head straight to the mine (3 hexes away), explore the hex you are in, rest? Map Updated.
Scarlet Scarab
"So, that's cleared up, then? Let's get away from this tree. What's in the mine, anyway? Let's find Luna and then explore here for a bit longer."
Celyne
Celyne's meeting with Luna is joyful, and the two roll about on the ground hugging and playing with each other for several minutes before Celyne stands and brushes herself off, trying to get the grass stains off her clothes, blushing and looking embarrassed... "Well, that was fun... i mean.. it's good to be reunited... I felt so alone without Luna at my side."
"Why don't we explore this area a little on our way so we don't have to return here quite so soon again. If we never see this area again, it will be too soon for me."
Numalar Auritonius
|
Numalar gives Sir Didymus a good scratch before saddling up.
"Why don't we explore this area a little on our way so we don't have to return here quite so soon again."
"Indeed. No sense passing through here without mapping the area."
I believe we are following the Purple path. We have already visited Nettle's Crossing I believe, and I think those two half-hexes we have been through should be mapped by now.
Zokon Santyev
"Agreed, i'll keep my bow ready in case of mitey visitors."
Zokon mounts up and takes out his bow
RPGGGM
I believe we are following the Purple path. We have already visited Nettle's Crossing I believe, and I think those two half-hexes we have been through should be mapped by now.
The halves you have been to are mapped, the other sides have not been visited yet (the unquiet specter of Davik Nettles having barred the path).
The party moves through the hills and vales around the enormous sycamore. At one point they come to a briar-filled vale and are forced to leave their pack animals behind to survey on foot.
Part through the thorny path with Zokon leading the way a pair of huge whiptail centipedes because that span of numbers on the random encounter chart really, really likes the group rise out of the foliage like giant cobras and attack the party. Fortunately some of the party members notice the noise of their advance.
Note this is still the same day as the raid on the Mite lair.
