Alas, where has my weekend gone... It's probably going to be either Monday evening or Tuesday before I have time to write a history. One question... Are we to assume the events of the other AP's have already happened, are happening now, or are in the future?
I wrote mine as if at least a portion of Second Darkness had already taken place.
Resavati Palivati |
Me still rather groggy in the head, though the 2 options are already on the profile. There are silly extra feat error, caused by application, on both classes. Seems there is an issue with the nagaji data that is causing this bug. I will change to my usual Paizo forum profile template (everything done by hand) for the selected class.

Yeah, also had the time fly away here. I knew this weekend I'd be at an all-day Saturday-Sunday paintball event, so I was hoping to get stuff done before that on Friday--and then on Friday I got super busy with work and packing. I'll try and get a character finished up tomorrow--although I had a question. I'm starting to rethink how I want to build my character, and I was thinking of maybe making him more of an armored samurai than the quick and lightly armored type. Would using the Shogun archetype be acceptable to represent a hardened warrior? I really just don't want to have a Mount, since they get in the way as often as not, and Paizo's Sword Saint archetype is, frankly, lacking in oomph.

Well then that explains it :-)
I run a Vampire game with 13 players, would you like me to link this thread to my Discussion thread and see if there are any takers?

I could potentially switch up from my samurai into a cavalier of some archetype to take on the Hellknight role, or else use the samurai class and just be a Hellknight. Might do that, actually, if others would prefer to keep their roles going on. That said, I should hopefully have the character finished being statted up soon--maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow. My schedule's come to a head between work, a play I somewhat unwisely joined, and home life.

Are you all still recruiting? Wanted to ask before I made a fool of myself apping to something that was already full and such.
If you are looking for a winter witch, I've got a concept for an elven caster with an icy theme who i lovingly have dubbed "Elfsa" since I haven't come up with a real name for her yet. If you're looking for something a little more Baba Yaga, she could easily be converted into a human.
On the off chance you're still in need, I'll start whipping up a proper concept for you to look over.
(As a side note: magus hellknight signifers/enforcers, although they come into the PrC late, are absolutely amazing.)
Roll 3: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 2) = 11 10
Roll 4: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 6) = 15 13
Roll 5: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 3) = 10 9
Roll 6: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 2) = 17 15
Roll 7: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 6) = 19 16
Roll 8: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 3) = 14 12

If this IS still open, I wouldn't mind jumping on the Hellknight boat there. I've been wanting to do a Hexcrafter Magus/White-haired Witch for a while now and that would fit the Hellknight Enforcer/Signifier pretty perfectly. Even have a whole backstory made up for the guy, I've just never had the chance to put him into play yet. His name's Newt and he was the plaything of a coven of hags for long enough that his morals and social graces have all but eroded by now. If this seems like something you guys would be interested in, give me a yell and I'll pull the character together in a hurry!
Roll 2: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 6) = 15 14
Roll 3: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 5) = 13 12
Roll 5: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 2) = 15 14
Roll 6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 5) = 14 12
Roll 7: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 2) = 13 11
Roll 8: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 4) = 13 12

Here is the current list for those still interesting in rolling up characters.

So, I've changed direction with this just a bit. I'm looking at being a goblin ranger of the freebooter archetype styled after the Rise of the Runelords AP. Or at least, the beginning of that AP.
I'll pull together his backstory and crunch tomorrow, but I expect he'll be able to fit the role of the stealthy, ranged martial, and hopefully comedic relief. Naturally, he wants nothing more than to be a Hellknight despite the sheer impossibility of that ever happening. Hopefully you guys will enjoy the enthralling (read: bizarre) tale of Globlob Needlefingers.

Alright, so here's Yolanda Velikas, a true winter witch straight from Irrisen!
Background is short and left fairly open since I don't know the details of the campaign yet. It's a touch more generic than I'd like so that I can tweak her to really fit with this campaign and easily add in details that give her motivations for doing whatever it is she's doing with a Hellknight, a drow, and a dhampir. I still hope this snippet gives you decent insight to the type of character I'm trying to build!
Proudly able to recite her lineage all the way back to the illustrious Baba Yaga, Yolanda has grown up exceptionally privileged in Irrisen compared to the Ulfen peasants. Yet despite this pure blooded heritage, Yolanda lacks the same streak of cruelty often associated with the Jadwiga. No, Yolanda is far too passive for such nonsense, and instead has retreated to a rather isolated manor on the outskirts of a town that her mother holds lordship over. So what does she do all day instead of tormenting her underlings? She lounges about while slaves and peasants work the land surrounding her manor, harvesting the seeds, bark, and sap of the winteryew trees and tending to the livestock. Her manor consistently over produces these valuable goods which she then trades and sells to the locals as a form of steadily growing income.
The other Jadwigas tend to overlook the mother-daughter duo in their isolated countryside location which suits Yolanda just fine, though it irks her mother that she's not considered a threat to anyone else's power. Her mother spends a large amount of time trying to draw Yolanda into her power-play schemes, but Yolanda's mother is as unmotivated as her daughter and her plans fizzle out shortly after they are made due to inaction.

Globlob Needlefingers |
Meet Globlob! His stat block is in the Alias, but I can always pull it into this post if that would be easier for anyone.
Once upon a time, there was a goblin by the name of Globlob Needlefingers. Globlob was a fairly typical goblin who enjoyed tormenting the "longshanks," catching and eating anything slower than him, and generally cavorting with other goblins. He was particularly skilled with the bow, hence his name, and had a keen eye for weaknesses of his foes. He would have made a fearsome foe someday, if not for how easily distracted he was by shiny objects and tasty looking creatures. The little, green monster was never much of a leader and seemed perfectly content to work for any number of devious masterminds. In exchange for good food, better accommodations, and the occasional shiny object, of course.
It was during one such period of servitude that he and his tribe were set upon by a group of adventurers. When the dust settled and the blood pooled, the adventurers had slaughtered his tribe to the man. As the only one standing far enough back to have survived the carnage, Globlob promptly threw down his bow and begged for mercy. The party immediately made use of the prostrate goblin by forcing him to show them where his "big boss" was hiding. He acquiesced without a second thought.
In a bizarre twist of fate, rather than simply dispatching the goblin once he had served his purpose, a tiefling in the group took pity on the creature. Globlob was fitted with a makeshift leash tied around his chest and carted about with the group as they continued their grisly rampage. Either out of some misplaced form of affection or as a cruel joke to another party member, they gave him the name Taruk Jr. after the group's bowman. Said bowman was none too pleased.
Just when it seemed that Globlob was starting to settle into the peculiar but exciting life of an adventurer, fate threw another curveball. The party's sorcerer, in a quest for ever more power, slew the party in their sleep and took control of a local cult. Globlob awoke to find his tiefling captor, as well as the rest of the group sans sorcerer, very much deceased and did the only natural thing. He snatched up the nearest blade and lopped the tiefling's head clean off as a trophy, before taking a bit of their ill-gotten loot. With that, he set out into the world and tried to continue his adventures to the best of his ability. Upon his head continually rests the now-bleached, horned skull of his late master as he wreaks havoc in true goblin fashion.
His current obsession, after happening upon a battle between a particularly large demon and a group of Hellknights, is to join their order in any way possible. Or in his own words, "one day I'mma grow up an' be one'a da big longshanks in black tin can! Den I kill all'a da bigger, redder, hornier longshanks!"
So, fun fact: Globlob's backstory is actually straight out of something that happened in a game of RotRL that I played once. It never finished due to the described betrayal, but "Taruk Jr." as he was fondly called did survive. It only seems fitting that he goes on to have his own adventures after the fact. Naturally, I've tweaked the backstory just a touch to better fit with the idea that RotRL hasn't happened yet. But goblins do tend to be the faceless cannon fodder of many adventures, so it hardly seems out of the ordinary.
Ozbadin |
Background
The excitable Ifrit had never felt more alive and in his element. He couldn't imagine why one would ever want to leave these lovely scorched, and parched lands... but one must also follow ones destiny.
The oasis that Ozbadin had grown up in had been destroyed. A giant crack opened in the bottom of the watering hole, and all the water rushed out in seconds. His family held on to the small trading post there for a while, but eventually no travelers meant no gold, so his family packed up and headed out to seek another oasis to inhabit. But not Ozbadin. To many tales of the wonders of the city, and adventures to be had, had left him eager to venture forth on his own... so he did.
He worked with a Slave master for a few years, and learned exquisite ways to use even the most painful finesse to make the most stubborn of captives sing like a songbird. He got no particular joy from torturing the slaves for information, it was simply what he was expected to do. And is some small way he pitied these wretches. Personally he'd rather die than serve as someone's captive, but every being had their place in the grand scheme. In exchange the master paid him with lovely magic. He learned to manipulate the forces of the ether with aplomb, and combined with his natural attributes, and skill with arms he quickly ascended the ranks of the Slave Master's forces, and soon found himself appointed lieutenant. Which is how he ended up where he was now.
Alone, and tramping away towards the famed city of Kelmarane. Apparently there is a new boss in town there, and it might be a profitable and adventuresome way of life. Ozbadin threw back his head and laughed out loud and the awesomeness of life, and his blood sang with magic, and lust for life. Only two more days and I should see the city.

Well this should be exciting.
I'd like to ask a stupid question thought, if I may, and anyone is free to answer. How does inviting someone to a campaign work? Will there be a magical banner across my screen that announces with with fireworks and confetti? Something more subtle? >.> I'm new to the Paizo PBP forums and such and its all so... fancy. I can't find anything around here >.>;;

There are no stupid questions Yolanda, The DM will create a discussion and gameplay thread. Just click on it, like you did with the recruitment thread and viola you are in. Sorry no confetti or fireworks 8>)

Alright, I've had the mechanics of my character done for a bit, so I'll post them here to make sure there aren't any glaring errors. Tomorrow's gonna be a bit of a busy day for me until the later evening, but I'll try to get an alias set up and a short background included before long so I can join in. The baseline of it will be that Isamu joined the ronin samurai who opposed the oni/Jade Regent takeover in Minkai, and he's been waiting for an opportunity to prove his honor and worth in battle.
