Erik restrains the urge to pump his fist in the air and let out a yell of celebration as Gwen and Bordan make it through. Instead, he meekly keeps on walking till the others catch up with them a block or so later.

Rojerick raises an eyebrow, gesturing below his waist at a few nearby beggars. "Does that look familiar?" He points again, trying to make their apparent illness plain to see. "We could have a problem here..."

The rest of the journey passes fairly quietly. There is a long wait at the city gate, with much complaining and shouting, by both the guards and the people trying to get in and out. Eventually though, both groups are allowed through with no issue. Once outside the vast planes beyond Korvosa open up, and the road ahead looks clear.

Thus did we officially become outlaws. I know the road to Hell is paved with good intentions; I just pray that we have made the right call here...

Once you get a mile or so from Korvosa. Trinia visibly relaxes. She removes the hat of disguise and hands it back to Erik. She's still reasonably well disguised from her own efforts though.

"I think I'm fine from here on my own. The farm where I get help is 5 or so miles down here, and should be pretty easy to find. Thank you, for all of your help. I hope things go better well for you, and for Korvosa. "

Rojerick nods in agreement. "I think it would be safest if you got far, far away from the city, Miss Sabor. It feels like something bad is happening."

As they walk, he turns to the others. "I saw a few people in town that had symptoms of this illness Miss Tayce's daughter had. I recommend that tomorrow, at first light, we head to one of the temples and let them know so they can decide what to do about it. We can't control their actions, but we can give them warning."

He pauses. "That brings me to an important question. Do you want to stay in the city through this? I have faith that Sarenrae's grace will protect me, and that I can see my daughter through it, and I'd like to stay for those who can't leave. Yes, Borden, like Tayce and her children. Maybe I can help. But, if it's spreading through the city, the worst is going to happen soon. If you want to leave, I won't blame you, or hold a grudge." Though his words are mild, his eyes flash in barely-concealed anger as he finishes. "So, what will it be?"

"Oh, yes, the plan is to get to the farm at Harse, and then from there I'll move further away from the city. Even Vencarlo wont know where I am then, but he'll be able to get message to me if it becomes safe."

"Um, Field Marshall, we thought it important to report what could be an outbreak of virulent plague. The ship that went down a short while ago? The one with the yellow light? Since then we've noticed several victims of a terrible disease, and it seems to be growing in frequency."

Erik rubs the back of his head. "I'm concerned we're just at the point of seeing it erupt. Any chance we could alert local priests and religious figures so that they can help prepare to fight it?"

"What evidence of that have you seen? I will admit that I have more men than is normal unwell in the last few days, but I need some firm evidence before I can act. There is so much else plaguing the city, if you will pardon the expression at the moment."

"I agree that alerting the temples is a sensible precaution, beyond that, any action we take could cause panic, and more riots, so I am hesitant to act until I know more."

"Could I leave you to alert the temples in my name? Do so quietly, and gather the evidence we need of any outbreak while you do."

Sounds reasonable Field Marshal - as for evidence there is a priestly spell that I believe identifies the disease and its characteristics if the priest looking for it isn't skilled in the specific disease.

"I have already diagnosed the disease in at least one patient, field Marshall, and we've seen the initial symptoms in quite a few other people. It's called the Blood Veil. In its initial stages, it causes headache, fatigue, coughing, and the rash on the face. Then the cough becomes more obtrusive, the rash spreads to the neck, face, and limbs and develops into pox-like blisters, and the lymph glands swell into painful buboes. At its most advanced stage, the blisters grow to the size of grapes or larger, internal bleeding creates black patches on the skin, and blood is expectorated.

If left untreated, this disease kills a person in about seven days.

It is not something to be taken lightly. We'll alert the temples, but I urge you to keep your eyes open and act quickly to prevent the spread of the disease among your men. The last thing this city needs right now is a crippled Guard."

Gwen hopes her distressed tone will be enough to convince the Marshall of the gravity of the situation.

Rilka can probably help with the anti-plague.

Player's Guide wrote:

Although the number of deities worshiped on Golarion is vast, the faiths of twenty deities stand head and shoulders

above the others. It’s generally possible to find clerics of any of these twenty faiths inside of Korvosa’s walls, although in some cases (particularly those of the evil faiths), one might have to look long and hard. Certainly, the church of Abadar has the most strength in Korvosa, for he is not only the god of cities and merchants, but also the patron of the city’s guards and protectors. The church of Pharasma tends to Korvosa’s dead and maintains an imposing cathedral in the city necropolis. Many of the city’s commoners prefer Sarenrae as a patron, and Shelyn has a strong following among the city’s artists. A church of Asmodeus brings a bit of uncertainty and fear to religion, although this church’s faithful are always careful to operate just on the legal side of the law, with sacrifices provided only on a volunteer basis. Beyond these faiths, the Pantheon of Many represents the majority of the 20 major deities of Golarion—only Gorum, Lamashtu, and Rovagug are not represented
here, and even they have their adherents in certain parts of the city.

Oh and don't forget...

Lets see to the Pharasmites first - they're the closest to wanting to heal the populace, then I suppose the Church of Sarenrae? She's a soft touch for the innocent. Then we could just see the rest after that in order of who's closest. But first lets see Rilka for a weeks supply of Anti-plague. We take one a day for the next 7 days it should keep us from getting this pox, and a lot cheaper than getting a remove disease spell cast as well.

Rilka's is on your way to the Pharasminite temple anyway. Her shop is it's usual ramshackle self. If you didn't know better you'd think it had been closed for years and it looks like the rioters have all thought so, as it's been left untouched. Well, you assume it has, it certainly doesn't look any worse than the first time you saw it.

Inside, Rilka appears after a few minutes from somwhere deeper in the building. "My friends, what can I do for you? More goodies for me to buy? Whatever happened to the nice broach you had?"
