Razmir the man known as the living god is making his move expanding into neighboring nations. It seems nobody can stop him as his power truly seems to be that of a god. A select few know the secret of his power and are taking steps to end his rule with the help of another who wields the same power as Razmir. Sazed Khaim a member of the old order of the keepers.

Houserules:

Houserules:

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: Everyone have fun.

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

Would I have seen Erik go down? Would it be possible for me to retcon my action to cast last second healing spell to save him?

We need to develop some standard strategic responses. In the current circumstances, half the party have gone invisible meaning the enemy is focusing everything on Erik and Devhyn; in retrospect that was a mistake. Achren can certainly Tank, and is large to boot making him the most likely target. I can't help feeling that if I had remained visible, Erik would still be alive.

It only took 3 hits! That archer with the +18 was really chewing Erik up.

At -19 he is dead and gone, yes?


You would be able to see him go down yes but it would be too late to heal him now. You may want to think about changing you action to healing yourself however.

The group your fighting is something I found in the book the rival guide it's supposed to represent an evil adventuring party that matches more or less equally with your except they are 4 level 9 characters vs your 5 level 10.

Just a heads up. I will be leaving Thursday morning for a 4-day retreat at the beach that lasts til Sunday afternoon, then I have a Sunday night concert to attend. I will take my computer with me, but I may not be able to post much til after I get home. Please feel free to bot me if I delay the game at all.

On Monday, my dog goes into surgery and when he returns home on Tuesday, I will be on a full-time home care regimen with him. He needs to be walked with a belly band whenever he needs to relieve himself or get up to get a drink or eat, so it will be a busy time. (He's an almost 100 lb st. bernard puppy, so he can't be carried for these things).

I'll be able to post regularly again starting Monday, but perhaps not as frequently as usual for a while.... Anyway, sorry in advance for any lack of posting on my part. I will do the best I can.

I understand. I do my best to keep things going but I have had a number of issues keeping me busy. still the slow pace and long absences can really reduce the fun in the adventure.

Done playing. When I saw the 25k gold my first thought was "oh no, now I have to work out what to buy". I don't really remember where I was going with Erik's build and with other changes in my life I'm not sure I am going to put the time in to sort it out.

So...are we replacing Erik, or continuing without him?


We can continue without him and I till try to tone down the danger level of the encounters a bit that last one was a bit too hard.

I took that mercenary group from a book called Rival Guide which has a bunch of villainous adventurer groups to use as recurring villains (rivals) against a good party and I wanted to try them out in a fight and thought it would make a good final challenge.

No worries, it was a good fight.

We are at the level where we should expect occasional deaths. Normally raise dead is not a problem past 8th level, except we don't have a full divine caster. We will have to rely on NPC's and plot devices (scrolls, divine intervention, etc.) until we get a pc that can cast raise dead.
Personally, I am of the view that if there is no chance of death it becomes too easy and starts to become boring. Sure, this is not Rappan Athuk but its nice to know that it still has the occasional challenge.

Please don't feel dying is why I quit. Just being out of the game for a little bit made me realise actually I wanted a break.


My girlfriend's mother passed away yesterday morning from a heart attack after a battle with cancer that lasted seven months I will be too busy to post for a few days I think.
