Guys it seems to me this game is running a little slow. We've posted 59 times in the last 28 days. That's on average once each per 3 days. That's not enough to sustain the game, imo.
I says this because slow posting is the killer for pbp games. Interest wanes, our posts get shorter, we forget who the other characters are...then it stops. It may be the this AP (dungeon crawl, traps?) is not ideal for pbp format.
I'd like to try to keep going. If we pick up pace, we could reinvigorate this and make real progress. What do you think? Can you post more frequently than we have?

Caius Jeggare |

It's really not that bad when you take into account that on weekends we all don't post as much.
Overall it doesn't seem like we have lost interest at all. At least to me, I've been in PbP groups were half the players didn't post for over a week for no reason.
I think we are doing fine and I plan on keeping up with this. :)

Rashim Shehadeh |

It's a little slower than some of my other games, but not horribly slow. For my part, I can make an effort to most more frequently if you like, I just typically find these sorts of dungeon crawls to somewhat naturally crawl by a little more slowly.

Wow. That would be crazy. I'd struggle to deal with that lack of effort.

I too intend to keep it up - I'm no less keen than ever. I can be accused of impatience. It could be what kills Kyrus in the end!

Caius Jeggare |

Have a good Rosh Hashanah!
I'll be celebrating that with my girlfriend's family as well.

GM Wulfson |

Hey everyone, just wanted to apologize for not being very active for the past couple of days. I've been busy with things at work trying to get ready for an upcoming work convention in Las Vegas next week.
I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon and won't be back until Friday night. I'll try to keep up with things as best as I can but during the day I'm going to be in the convention center and at night,...well it's Vegas.

Totally understood. Have a great time; try to come back in one piece...

Akbari Radjziic |

Sorry, gang. I haven't been that great about posting and now something's come up with my family (and it looks like I'm going to have to move to be closer to them so I can help out, etc). I don't have the time to keep putting in to the games on this site, so I'm going to have to respectfully and regretfully back out. Thank you for the fun while it lasted, and keep gaming!

Caius Jeggare |

Sorry to hear that Akbari.
I hope it all works out well for you.

GM Wulfson |

Good luck, Akbari and I'm sad to see you go.
You've only got a couple of more rooms to go so i can bot Akbari until you return to the surface.
Again i want to apologize for not paying attention to my games. There's no really good way to say this without sounding ghoulish but we are currently on a death watch for my father-in-law. Early last week he took a turn for the worst and the hospice nurse believes he could pass any day now. Needless to say my wife is beside herself with worry and I just haven't had the time to devote to these boards.

Caius Jeggare |

No worries Wulfson.
I know that can be quite difficult to deal with. You take the time that's needed.

GM Wulfson |

Okay guys, If you post that your character is moving somewhere or inspecting something please move your token on the map accordingly. I don't want to run into a situation where if I move your token and something happens, someone says "Well that's not where I meant to go".

GM Wulfson |

My Father in Law passed away quietly at his home Wednesday afternoon. I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during these trying times. I will be out of town from today until Wednesday attending the services and other personal matters.
Thank you all,
Mike.

Sorry to hear your news. I'm glad he passed away at peace.

Caius Jeggare |

My condolences Mike.
You do what you need we'll be here when you get back.

Marius Vorloren |

Oops, apparently I had Caius on the brain when I wrote that post. It was supposed to be Rashim, who was working on the trap with us.

Sorry guys - I would like to drop out.
I've enjoyed playing with you, and should say a big thank you to you all (especially GM Wulfson) for the time you have invested in this shared story, I really do appreciate it.
I've felt for a while that the game is going too slow, and whilst I accept that others don't feel the same, it's remained a problem for me. I suspect it's mostly to do with the nature of a a room based trap-filled dungeon crawl; it's bound to be slow on a pbp format. Once I'm forgetting about what's happened, or what Kyrus can do, I can't commit to an AP-length story and it's time to step away.
Good luck with the Mummy's Mask - I wish you well with the traps and undead to come...

GM Wulfson |

Sorry to see you go, Kyrus, but I understand.
How about the rest of you, are you still willing to continue? If so I think it's time to head topside and search out replacements for Akbari and Kyrus.
I suggest we take a break for the next week, what with the holiday and all, and I'll open up a recruitment thread and see what we can find.

GM Wulfson |

I opened a recruitment thread and it's already gotten a few hits. I'd like it if you could follow along and give me some input as to who you would like to join us.

Caius Jeggare |

Cool.
I'll follow along and help out.
Recruitment usually seems like a pain in the butt. Some people have a heard time reading. Haha

GM Wulfson |

Wanting to wish all of our American players a Happy, and safe, Thanksgiving.

Caius Jeggare |

So after looking over the applicants I've narrowed down my favorite two.
Ziyadi Sahrebe would be a good fit for replacing the need for a divine caster/healer.
and
Meriui bin Mircea would be wonderful as a front-line warrior and can well protect the rest of the group.

Rashim Shehadeh |

I agree with Meriui bin Mircea as a front liner, but personally I'm not as sure on the healer front, as there are several great candidates IMO. Ziyadi does look good, but I also really like Akil Khalid, as he would not only fill the healing role but also could provide extra front line support in the form of summons and eventually animal companion. On the other hand, from an IC perspective, Rashim would absolutely go with Merutep, given her connection with the Old Gods, which he shares and would absolutely be drawn to. I'm intrigued by Kunala, who's submission isn't quite done yet, but that is probably more from a personal appreciation of inquisitors as a class.
I'll take another look through toward the end of the day, to see if there are any additional submissions, but those are my thoughts so far.

Dr. Hibbins |

Though he isn't exactly what we were looking for originally, I like the look of Khaz to fill the combat oriented slot, their is a line of feats that allow him to do with the bow what most characters do with melee. As to the healer slot, either Ziyadi or Khalid would fit my likes.

GM Wulfson |

Sorry i didn't get a post up yesterday (Damn you, Crisis on Earth-X), but I'm working on it now.

Merutep |

Due to an incredibly busy weekend filled with a Christmas celebration, two birthday parties, and many hospital visits, I will be unable to post from December the 16th through till December the 18th. My posting should resume as normal on Tuesday the 19th. Apologies if this slows down the game. Feel free to bot me as needed.
Thanks for understanding, and have a great weekend, guys.

Merutep |

Hey, guys! Happy to be back!
---
Also, advanced warning:
I'll be unavailable to post from December 22nd through to December 26th due to the holidays. I might be able to fit in a post here or there during that time, but I'm not sure. Holidays are busy around here. Posting should resume as normal by the 27th (or the 28th at the latest).
If it gets too crazy around here to mention it later this week, Happy Holidays to those of you who celebrate something! And have a great few days to those of you who don't!

Dr. Hibbins |

Boiler plate message.
Due to the statistical certainty that at least one person in any of my games is celebrating some kind of Christmas thing... Merry Christmas.
I will be taking part in the long standing Jewish tradition of Chinese food and a bad horror film if anybody needs a suggestion on what to do. This years bad horror film, "Killer Clowns From Outer Space". A classic.

GM Wulfson |

Wishing You and Yours Peace, Love, and Joy this Holiday season and throughout the year to come.
Mike.

Caius Jeggare |

Happy holidays!
Also nice pick with Killer Clowns. :)

Meriui bin Mircea |

Headed to a Boy Scout Shooting Sports campout to run the archery range. In the Hill Country and a valley, so there is no cell service after I get there.
Will be back Sunday night.

GM Wulfson |

okay, I know I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you post that your character moves to such and such a place PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, move your token on the map. I don't want to be held responsible for any mishaps that may happen if I move your token for you and something bad happens.
I have maps for every game I run so PLEASE USE THEM.

Caius Jeggare |

My bad. :)
Sometimes when i use my phone to post i forget that we have maps.
