Kyson slumps down after the 'egg' is removed, only going back to his knees to lay his hands on the Father before returning back to the ground to cry.
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Healing from converted CLW
"That sucked. I never want to do that again."
Kyson stops crying only for enough time to vomit away from himself, then back to some less-than-manly blubbering.
After a few minutes, Kyson regains a little composure...enough to take a look and think about the egg.

"Well whatever it is, I'm inclined to think it's bad. Hand it here so I can smash it", the old ranger suggests.
"Is the priest going to be okay now?"
Sekathral
Sekathral gives the weeping Kyson a reassuring pat on the shoulder and offers him first puff of the fresh joint he's rolled and a slug of whisky to help him recover.
"Chuck it over the side", he urges. "Unless there's some other frigging bookworm on board who'd be able to tell us what the hell it is, and whether or not it's worth anything"
He stops and thinks for a moment, looking worried.
"Here, how did the poor ****er end up with that in him?"
Kyson Tirc
Kyson nods, still sobbing and sniffling and smelling vomit.
Kyson slowly gets up, leaving the egg as it is.
"Maybe that gnome knows what that is. It don't make any sense to me," Kyson says with a fawning, weak wave.
"I'm going outside to get some fresh air...smells like blood and vomit down here."
Kyson struggles out the door, ending up gasping for air next to the railing.
Oh Sarenrae, never again. Promise me, never again.
Silvio Callgari Pazzi
"Did not Silvio say that his good friend Kyson was up to the task!" Silvio says beaming and give the cleric a hearthy slap on the back. "The fresh sea air will clear you mind, good idea", he says and puts an arm around Kyson's shoulder and helps the young man to the deck. "Somebody will see to the egg, yes?"
Zstelian Karela
Zstelian picks up the strange egg and finds a cloth to wrap it in.
"We'll see if Kyson's gnome has any idea what it is. If not, Seka can toss it overboard. The bigger question though is how it got inside the father."
Track down the little scholar and see if he's got a clue.
Kyson Tirc
Kyson sputters out the last of the bile in his mouth by spitting into the ocean. Kyson takes a few deep breaths before finally rallying to speak to Silvio.
"Thank you Silvio. I've never done that before...and I never want to again. Cutting people open that you care about...that you want to live is far different than trying to slice through them in anger or comabt."
Kyson looks to Silvio. "Maybe I could have my sword back now? It might have been easier if I had been able to use it instead."

Kyson, upon seeing Zstelian walking with the covered egg, will speak with Silvio.
"Let's go talk to the gnome too, Silvio. Besides, I need you to watch my back...soon enough whomever is doing these awful things is going to realize that they are failing because of me. ME, SILVIO! You have to keep me safe!"
Kyson follows Zstelian, dragging Silvio with. And Khaz.

The gnome takes a long look at the egg, scratching his head several times as he peers it over.
"Quite fascinating, quite quite," he says. "Unfortunately, I don't have a clue what it is. You say you pulled it out of Father Feres? How interesting! However did it get there, I wonder?"

Several days later
The next few days pass uneventfully on the ship, Father Feres keeping quietly to himself in the bunks and jumping if anyone makes any hasty moves or loud noises near him.
The ships anchor near the mouth of the Havekihu River, taking half a day to refill water stores from the river. That evening, about half an hour after the expedition gets under way again, a thick fog springs up.
Fog banks like this often occur along the coast in this region.
The thickness is oppressive, and Capt. Venkalie sends all the passengers belowdecks. Above, the crew grows silent as all ears strain to the port side, marking the distant sound of breakers on the shore as the only trustworthy method of ensuring the expedition doesn't draw too close to the shallows while still staying parallel to the coast.
The fog grows thicker and soon even the Blue Nixie, only a few hundred feet ahead, is lost to vision.
A short time later, Sekathral and Silvio -- who both remain on deck as part of the crew -- hear a shout from Lavinia's ship, strangely muted by the fog, ordering a stop for the night. Capt. Venkalie spreads the order to weigh anchor and the crew hurries to comply, the Sea Wyvern slowing to a stop for the evening.

Bird: "I need a favor, girl. Wait on the other ship. If anything hostile shows up, come get us."
Kyson Tirc
I believe Seka will dispose of the egg...since we so clearly failed there. :(
Kyson huddles in his bunk, hoping that others are with him to keep him company. However, feeling the stopped boat and possibly hearing the shouts, Kyson will put on his armor and go above deck to see what all the hubbub is.
"Seka?! You up here!? What's going on?"
Sekathral
Seka will have chucked it over the side, weighted down with something hefty, after the gnome failed to identify it
"Fog, mate. You can't see a bloody thing, so we're stopping. Skipper knows what she's about - no sense in ploughing on only to run smack into Gods-know-what and ending up lost for good in Besmara's cleavage."
He peers out into the fog.

Kyson fears are only somewhat assuaged by Silvio's calm confidence, considering all the ails that have befallen those around him so far on the trip, resolves to put more weight into the words than a rational man might.

As you come above deck, the pervasive fog conceals everything, reducing visibility to just five feet in front of you despite lanterns beating back the night's darkness.
A sudden scream of surprise and pain is followed by a load splash -- as of someone going overboard -- from near the bottom of the stairs that lead up to the bow on the port side of the ship.
"What now?" Dargon grumbles. "This boat'll be the death of us yet!"

Sekathral scuttles down the rigging, landing near Zstelian and moving forward to stand beside him.

Khazmia, you believe it's a flotsam ooze, a sticky, aquatic mass named for the sea junk that sticks to it, making it look like a mass of flotsam. It holds fast to anything it touches and freeing one's self is very difficult.
Seeing an opening, Zstelian throws his javelin, which sticks upright in the thing, doing some damage, the old Varisian thinks.
Silvio, the creature looks pretty massive, the huge pile of debris reaching about 15 feet wide and long. There's no indication where the flotsam's come from, but you don't think it's enough to be the Blue Nixie. The fog is still too think, however, for you to see your sister ship. You can see one sailor, struggling to escape with no success. The ooze twitches, slamming a tendril into him, and his cries suddenly end in a bloody mess, his body simply pulverized.
Dargon follows the rest of you -- except Kyson -- to the railing, looking over. "Whatever it is, it looks like it's trying to send us to the bottom. I don't really swim all that well..." he says, as he backs back away from the side. "Let me see if I can find something to help, eh?"
The ooze suddenly flings an appendage upward, nearly hitting Silvio, despite Kyson blasting it with a bolt of fire that sends it falling back into the ocean.
