Grim John here
DM Mathpro
The streets were packed as you all came into town. Horns sounded as soon as you breeches the gates and a loud cheer erupted. Confetti and streamers rained from open windows of ships and the crowd barely parted around the party. Townspeople reached out trying to touch the "saviors of sandpoint". After a few moments the crowd dispersed and there it was. Right in the middle of town stood a 50 foot bronze statue of the party. A smiling Ameiko and Shalelu stood next to the statue. Your hearts sink as you see Shalelu standing there. You had issued orders for her to remain with the black arrows. Her presence here could only mean one thing, trouble was in your future. She had a smile plastered on her face however and as anyone approached she covertly held up a finger to her lips to silence any questions.

"The statue seems a bit much."
"I agree with Churley, his nose is too big."
Marigold Hazeman
"Maybe they were thinking of that time the basement goblin bit you on the nose?" Marigold whispered in her usual tone, shifting uncomfortably at all the attention and the fact that Shalelu was here. "They did a good job at least. I think it should've been smaller though."
Of course, Marigold was not going to mention how uncomfortable the sheer rage and battle-ready nature of her part of the statue made her feel. The others would almost certainly be able to guess that she didn't like it, but she certainly wouldn't be the one to mention it.
"And you're getting close to being that big yourself, aren't you John?"
Grimm John
"If I paint myself gold, then I can blend right in."
Grimm John
"I think we need to talk to our friend Shalelu over there." John says as her motions for her to come over.
Grimm John
"I think we need to get out of this crowd and talk to Shalelu in private." John says to the others.
He leads the others towards the inn and motions for Shalelu to follow.
Churley
"But mayor want speech. Churley give speech and meet you. "
Churley find some slightly raised point from which to orate.
"Mayor ask what Curley see in future. Churley sees enemy driven before him. Churley crush enemy. Churley hear lamentation of enemy women. Churley get cheese curds. Churley like cheese curds. "
When the applause, if any , dies down he heads for the Inn.

John waves Churley on to entertain the crowd.
When the group and Shalelu reach some privacy he asks her:
"Shalelu, what brings you to Sandpoint? We left you back at the fort."

Shalelu makes her way over to the group and pulls a note out of a pouch along her waist. "My men intercepted this...you might want to read it." She hands the note over to John.

Latest contact with Teraktinus indicates he has narrowed the search-he believes a human town called Sandpoint could hide what my lord seeks. Teraktinus will lead several of the people, as well as the dragon, on a raid into the town soon. When they return, they may be pursued, and I may need your ogre slaves to aid in Teraktinus's retreat to Jorgenfist. B
e ready to return at my command,

John pales a bit at the mention of Sandpoint and a dragon.
He hands the message to Churley when he arrives.
"We should probably warn the townsfolk, so that they can prepare if it is true."
To Shalelu:
"How exactly did you come by this message? How long ago?"
Grimm John
"Churley, this makes it sound like a dragon and a band of giants and ogres are coming to attack the town." John says to his Shoanti friend.
If Ameiko is present, he turns to her and says "This is grave news and the town must be prepared. Could you send for the mayor and the sheriff? They need to know, but we don't want to start a panic yet."

Grim John paces impatiently while he waits for Ameiko to return, his brow furrowed in worry at the dark news that Shalelu has delivered.
When the town officials arrive with Ameiko, Grim John nods to them and starts: "We have grave news from our friends at the fort..."
He fills them in on what we know and then finishes:
"We'll do what we can to help defend the town, but it's best if you begin preparations and see to getting the youngsters and old folks to shelter."
