What were the results from my Knowledge rolls? 21 for the Mistress, 20 or the Shadows.
Alphonse recognizes the undead for what they are: a wight and two shadows....
All three pose a dire peril to one's life force, the wight being a parasite that feeds on ones energy levels, the shadows being sappers of strength....
The wight may be harmed by magic cold iron weapons such as the Lusty Fools possess....
But the shadows will be harder to vanquish, given their incorporeal nature....
Alphonse Veritas
"Beware the touch of any of these creatures. They will sap your strength and weaken your soul!" Alphonse calls out.
"Don't bother with anything other than magical weapons against these ones." he says as well, indicating theShadows.
Taking his own advice, he lets his Scythe clatter to the floor, drawing his Earthbreaker and swinging it at the nearest in one fluid motion, then backs away, hopefully putting his back against a wall., then steps backward and readies an action to hit any enemy that comes into his reach.
SWING BATTA BATTA (Power Attack): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage?: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 3) + 10 = 19
I should be able to step diagonally, putting a wall to my back or side, meaning to flank me the other would have to move around and provoke, if my understanding of this tunnel/hallway's layout is correct.

Let's send these buggers back to the depths of Hell where they belong, me boyos.....have at ya!1
Paddy lashes out at the wight with his shortsword.

Iommi-Tyr Magnusson uses his vials of Holy Water to attack the Shadows knowing his allies will focus on the Wight.
Hisao of the Yellow Reeds
Round one
Invisible, Hisao will circle around and take out his heavy mace so that he ends up behind the freaky woman.
That uses up my swift, standard, and move action for Round one
Paddy
Oi, this little lass is a pain in the neck....
Paddy lashes out at the wight, trying to slash her hands away from his throat.
attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 141d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 52d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7 applied flank and sneak if Hisao is still opposite me

[dice=attack]1d20+7+2-1; 1d6+1; 2d6 applied flank and sneak if Hisao is still opposite me
A near miss.... The wight withdraws her hands just in time to avoid Paddy's swift stroke!
Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht*
Nacht's yellow eyes narrow as it seemed like the glowing being was attacked by.. darkness. His chitinous arms bulged as strength seeped into them and he moved up to strike one.
Ant Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 162d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 5 = 9

Nacht's yellow eyes narrow as it seemed like the glowing being was attacked by.. darkness. His chitinous arms bulged as strength seeped into them and he moved up to strike one.
[dice=Ant Greatsword Slash]1d20+6; 2d6+5
Nacht's greatsword slashes the shadow that Alphonse struck with his hammer, and the evil spirit moans and quivers....but persists in its deadly assault!
Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht*
Nacht is unaware what the shadow being is or even was trying to do and swings the greatsword again.. its screams were somehow soothing.
Ant Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 142d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 6) + 5 = 15
Hisao of the Yellow Reeds
Round 2
Hisao five steps if needed to close in on the wight's back and swings his heavy iron mace at the skull of the creature.
flank iron heavy+1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 191d8 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 2 + (3, 2) = 15
And then burns a point of ki to swing the mace back the other way with supernatural speed.
flank iron heavy+1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 251d8 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (3, 1) = 8

The water level raises to 2 feet below the island, reaching an inconspicuous pair of port-holes in the outer most wall under the drawbridge on the corridor side, and triggering a verdigris-covered copper plate or valve to fall into the corridor a few feet from where it opens onto the drawbridge, sealing off the corridor from the quickly flooding chamber!
Alphonse Veritas
Alphonse grimaces, his drained strength catching up with him.
"Getting harder and harder to swing my weapons."
He walks over and retrieves his scythe, sheathing it for now in favor of the weapon that can harm ghosts and other undead.
Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht*
Nacht's yellow eyes look around in wonderment but begins to examine the chamber for anything new. They glow gold for a moment as weird insectile noises come from the creature. [ooc]Detect Magic[/dice]
Perception(Wasp): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Paddy
Aye, I'm fine for now...a bit weak....might be good after a rest. I think I might need some magical healing or something after....I'll have the priest look at it. Thanks Hisao.
Paddy gathers himself and takes a breath.
Other than Alphonse and me, is everyone ok?
Michael Johnson 66
As the Lusty Fools catch their breaths and check out their surroundings, the water level rises to the top of the island and water begins to sweep inward over the island to the domed structure.... Curiously, it stops at the threshold of the green door, gathering as if an unseen barrier were preventing it from entering the chamber within!
Michael Johnson 66
Hisao finds a silver necklace with emerald pendant around the wight's near-skeletal throat, concealed under her funeral shroud....
The water gathers to a depth of 2 ft over the island and drawbridge outside the domed structure....
Hisao searches the inner domed chamber carefully....
What do the other Lusty Fools do in the meanwhile?
Iommi-Tyr Magnusson
Sorry I've been out -- catching up.... -- Looks like I used two of my vials of Holy Water and we won!
I'll try to level-up soon....
Iommi-Tyr Magnusson looks around at the sigils and runes decorating the walls and other such information, copying them down and considering their implications and meanings.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 10 + (4) = 20

Alphonse, Paddy and Nacht join Hisao in a careful scan of the inner domed chamber, while Iommi-Tyr carefully copies the strange arcana and unholy symbology scrawled on the walls, and ponders their meaning....
Alphonse determines that nothing in the chamber gives off a powerful enough aura of evil to be detected in the usual manner....
Paddy, Nacht and Hisao discover various hidden objects: Paddy discovers a secret niche behind a panel in the concave wall, about 10 inches high, by 1 ft deep, by 1 ft wide, in which a pouch lies; Nacht discovers that the central 10-ft-diameter apex of the inner domed ceiling is outlined by a barely-visible seam, suggesting a circular secret trapdoor, and a matching circular secret trapdoor directly below it in the flagstoned floor under the desk and high-backed chair, and scuff marks suggesting that desk and chair have often been pushed apart and off of the circular trapdoor in the floor; Hisao discovers that the chest in the chamber has a complex and most likely trapped lock on it, which he fortunately avoids triggering at the last second....
Iommi-Tyr determines that some of the arcane symbols are astrological in nature, revealing peculiar alignments of celestial bodies in the heavens, most of which should occur around Winter Solstice of this very year.... It appears the Necromancer might be forecasting or divining some future event, to occur at the end of this year.... Other symbols mixed into the formulae suggest that the predicted event is nothing less than Domesday.... The beginning of Armageddon and the Great Apocalypse!
The water level completely covers the domed structure, some magical abjuration preventing the water from entering through the doorway, so that a wall of water is formed at the threshold! Pale subterranean fish and frogs can be seen to swim up to the doorway, apparently curious, before darting away into the green-lit gloom....
