As if the lamia and four skeletal champions weren’t trouble enough, a pair of dark shadows rise up from the floor to either side of the lamia! These whisper unintelligible threats...
Seeing it's companion destroyed by the flash of positive energy from the wand in Lady Zal's hand, the second shadow seems to cower over one of the two skeletons on the floor, as if trying to shrink down inside it.... Lady Zal touches the shade with the wand, another flash of golden radiance brightens the dim cafe briefly, and with a wailing moan and sizzling, sputtering, flickering, the second shadow dissipates!

One of the shadows turns from Zed to drift closer to Nalket, reaching for her with wispy shadow-arms.... Incorporeal touch 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 brushes the Ghost Wolves shaman's arm with deathly cold shadow-fingers, sapping 1d6 ⇒ 6 Strength!
The other continues its deadly dance with Zed.... Incorporeal touch 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 again invades Zed's android body, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 5 Strength damage!

With a terrific BANG!!!, Geirmur's musket ball passes through the fleshless, boneless monster and ricochets around the cafe dangerously, finally settling by chance in the eye socket of one of the forlorn skeletons! The shadow seems not to have noticed the shot at all....
Lady Zal's query seems to be answered by a distant rumble of thunder and the unholy howls of the wraiths as they weather Zed's acid, Nalket's flames, and then Gnaarrg's ectoplasmic bomb....

As Zed is examining the two skeletons in the dark cafe, a pair of shadows that aren't his loom across the littered floor and walls, seeming to stretch from the two skeletons....
He hears a cold, dry hissing that seems to come from the darker shadows....

With a mighty sweep of his magic earth breaker, Alphonse causes the shadow to collapse into a dark bundle that dissipates like smoke in the wind!
The lone shadow reaches out tendrils of darkness shaped like skeletal hands and arms to caress Nacht....1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 missing!
The shadow evades Nacht's swing!
The remaining shadow lunges at Nacht....

But the Beetle Man is too fast, and slips away from the shadowy claws....
Alphonse hammers the second shadow....it shrieks in pain! He springs away from it nearer the drawbridge....
Iommi launches a second vial of holy water at the wounded shadow and scores a direct hit that banishes the shadow to the nether realm!

Simultaneous with the emergence from the canopy bed of the ghastly woman, two black shapes of pure shadow rise up from the floor to either side of the doorway, within a 5-ft step each of flanking Alphonse!
