Anga Runedaughter |

Hows about we go back to tha Inn. Ah'm a wee bit tired. Anga, having spent her entire repertoire of spells and magic, is looking a bit wobbly.

Othdan |

Day Six
In the early morning hours, the weary party, carrying the statue of Iomedae, makes it way back into Trunau without further incident.
When one of the guards sees the young boy, "Othdan! We thought you to be dead. Your mother is worried sick. Come with me."
Othdan leaves the company of the party, "Thank you Ruby's Champions for rescuing me." He gives the party a slight bow and goes with the town guardsmen for a reunion with his mother.
Several guards relieve the party's burden of the heavy statue and deliver it to the Sanctuary.

Kurst Grath |

Kurst Grath, notified by the watchmen that you have returned, meets with the party as they make their way to the Ramblehouse, "Have you found anything more about what happened with Rodrik?" He then adds, "This evening we will be cremating Rodrik's body at the Flame of the Fallen. I would like you all to join me. You have time to rest before this evening."

We would be honored. Yes we did find some clues also there was a half Orc that got away but the boy said he lived around here.

Anga Runedaughter |

A troll, only a wee one, a half orc who bolted, a few other beasties. And a few curious things

Haskyll is content to let others speak while he contemplates going to sleep after cleaning up.
I suggest that we keep watch again tonight

"What kind of curious things?" Kurst looks back at Anga.
We found a Skreed written in large red runes a haunted room and Rodrik's hope knife. As for the Half Orc you would have to ask the kid.

Kurst Grath |

"You found Rodrik's Hopeknife!" Kurst is excited about this news. "My Father needs to hear of this. That proves he did not kill himself. May I have his hopeknife? As a Trunau tradition, it is customary that the decease's hopeknife be with the body at the Flame of the Fallen."
"Yes. I need to talk to Othdan. The guards told me he was with you when you returned," Kurst says this almost without thinking, as his mind was elsewhere thinking about his lost brother.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Aye, here is his hopeknife
Haskyll passes Kurst the hopeknife.
As for the kid, not sure where he went to after the guards met us. However, I am for bed, can we carry this on in a couple of hours

GM Mazra |

Rodrik's funeral at the Flame of the Fallen will be this evening. Everyone will be able to eat some breakfast and get 8 hours of sleep.
Just before sunset High Priestess Tyari Varvatos leads the service at the Flame of the Fallen (Town of Trunau map area 3) for Rodrik’s funeral. In attendance, in addition to Kurst there is his father Jagrin, Brinya and Omast are present, as well as Katrezra, Chief Defender Halgra and her daughter Ruby, plus many more from the town. After consecrating the Flame of the Fallen with sacred herbs, Tyari performs a traditional requenching of the deceased’s hopeknife that the party recently found. The heating of the hopeknife in the alchemically infused flames causes the blade to turn pure black, and after the ritual is over, Tyari hands the dagger to Rodrik’s grieving fiancee, Brinya. During the ritual Ruby sneaks up to hold Kaos' hand.
After the service, Rodrik's father, Jagrin the Captain of the Guards, approaches the party. The elder Grath releases a long breath, “At least we know Rodrik didn’t disgrace himself with an unnecessary suicide. Thank you for your help in finding the truth. We need to find his murderer.” He turn and leaves the party.
The crowd begins to disperse. Halgra gathers Ruby, giving Kaos a kind yet weathered smile. Kurst is left staring at the funeral pyre.
There is time before the services to visit shops. Please feel free to role play at any part of the above event.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Approaching the grieving family.
Once again, my sympathies for your loss
Haskyll then goes and stands near the back for the service.
It might take a bit of time, but we should be able to track the murderer down.

Haskyll also gives everyone a small sack of 2 Beryls (100 gp), 1 jet (50 gp), 1 Onyx (25 gp), 10 pp, 3 gp, 5 sp, 1 cp
I will have to get the other 2 gems sold to divide it up.

Kaos will watch the ritual with reverence. When Ruby comes up he will give her hand a gentle squeeze. Then when it is done he will bend down to give her a hug before she is collected. He will return Halgra's smile in kind.
We will find his killer. But we may need some help. Kaos will go looking for an assassin he knows.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Haskyll passes the items over to Anga. I have had no luck in figuring out these things, you ?

Mordea |

Mordea will look down at her feet, then sheepishly look up at Kaos, "No hard feelings I hope. You were just a job. But now I have a new job. The Cleric Tyari, the one that lead the service, came up and interogated us. Afterwards, they threw the other members of my band in the brig, likely to rot away. However, they offered me a job as a scout in service to Jagrin. Something to do with how I am aligned. I really don't understand it. But they pay better, so here I am watching the crowd to see if any that originally hired us shows up or look for other troubles."

Ragnir Brightaxe |

Overhearing what Mordea said (I believe she was the one attacking Ragnir to begin with) Ragnir stomps up beside her. "Ye durn well better be tellin' us if'n ya sees any of em. I'll not be forgettin' the poke you gave te us with yer magic pig stickers."
Either way I phrased it so he could be talking about her, or the whole group of assassins.

GM Mazra |

@Ragnir - You also have Detect Magic and Spellcraft.
The vials had Holy Water in them.
In the AP, the Half-Orc, if alerted, runs. He ran. In all the subsequent chaos, I forgot that he did leave behind a chest that was not locked or trapped.
In the chest the party finds, 1 ounce of sovereign glue, 2 doses of universal solvent, 50 feet of silk rope, a disguise kit (with 6 uses remaining), a set of thieves’ tools, a noble’s outfit worth 75 gp, a signet ring worth 50 gp, and coins totaling 237 gp, 155 sp, and 55 cp.
Please take the opportunity to visit shops or the barter stone, if you need to. This would have occurred before Rodrik's Funeral.

Ulfgard Strongfist |

Looking at the box and its content Ulfgard whistles. "Looks like we had an infiltrator here. This bods rather ill. Some outside influence is interested in our fine city."
If we sell all unwanted items... how much is it for everyone?

Haskyll Stonereaver |

will update our treasure when I am home from work

Ragnir Brightaxe |

"Looks like a spy's kit. Disguises, tools, glue, solvent. Someone's been doin' some snoopin' about."

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Someone that was playing a noble. Well now

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Not completely sure, will have to look at our notes back at the inn.
Anga, would you mind coming with me to trade out the things that are not needed ?

Mordea |

Have fun, you two? Kaos will ask around to see if anyone has seen anyone new in town.
"I noticed a couple of groups from Freetown. But that may not be unusual as Trunau gets more trade opportunities than does Freetown," the former Assassin observes.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

when I get home from work, I will figure out the total of what we intend to sell.
Haskyll goes into town with Anga in order to sell things off before we go to the funeral.
So Where shall we go first

Ragnir Brightaxe |

"Lemme have a look at that wand, lass. I got some knowledge o' these thin's, mebbe I c'n suss it out with a wee look."

Where did you see them and what where they doing? Can you show me?

Mordea |

"There was a group at the Barterstones (Trunau Map 5) yesterday. And another group this morning at the Boarding house this morning."(17) Mordea shrugs, "Again, I didn't think anything of it. There is free trade between Trunau and Freetown. Freetown folks are just always looking to make some coin."

Mordea |

Mordea will think about it for a moment, "It may. Though I don't know his name, the Half-Orc that hired us to well..." Mordea hesitates, "Well, you know...he has connections in Freetown."

GM Mazra |

As the sun sinks below the horizon, the peaceful evening is shattered by the brazen calls of signal horns. Shouts and screams from the town’s lower quarter join the clamor, followed by a crash as an airborne boulder smashes into one of the guard towers. Trunau is under attack!
The solemn atmosphere at the Flame of the Fallen transforms into a chaotic race to prepare Trunau for attack and protect its citizens. Patrol Captain Jagrin Grath and Omast Frum immediately rally the nearby guards and take command of the town militia to repel the invaders. Those residents capable of fighting stop what they are doing and head to the walls, while the town leaders hurry noncombatant townsfolk into the Longhouse for safety.
Kurst Grath sees the party and runs toward them. He first looks at the guardsmen standing next to Mordea, "Move quick and follow Captain Jagrin." The guardsman looks then turns and runs. Mordea, still standing where she was, glances at the guardsman as he runs away.
Kurst then turns his attention to the party, "We need to get the beacons lit, the Commons beacon (Outside area 4), the inner gates beacon (area 19), and the Hopespring beacon (between 14 and the Hopesprings Pond). The Flame of the Fallen (area 3) is already lit from Rodrik’s funeral, but if we Trunauans are to have a chance in this fight in the dark, the other beacons must be lit as well. Can you help us? You seem to work well as a team."
You may continue any "earlier in the day" shopping or events in the Discussion Thread.

Anga Runedaughter |

Aye, of course we'll help. We wound nay be dwarves if we ran from a fight. Oh and Kaos too, no slight intended. She looks towards the commons.
Tha commons beacon be closest. Let's head there. Anga starts moving off, casting mage armour upon herself as she moves.
Come on lads. Times a wasting
